I have read that Huddersfield want to sign Patterson, Patterson has said he wants to stay at Huddersfield.

Our manager seemingly does not want Patterson, so why could the two clubs not agree something in the January window?

Because Hudds don't want to meet our valuation and are in no hurry because He's on a season long loan and can't go anywhere. Their Chairman is not known for throwing his money
about.

I would rather keep the young lad think there's plenty more to come from him and fed up with are players being given away for pittance.

No coincidence that Jamie Patterson is thriving in a side that has embraced possession of the ball. Not giving it away cheaply or relying on the counter attack at the expense of conceding acres of the pitch. Our football philosophy is driving away true talent. If I were him I'd relish the chance of playing with the likes of Billing et al.

You are probably right, but Huddersfield are taking a gamble. The better he plays the more we will want.

The problem is riverside when we played a more Possesipn orientated game we kept losing.

That said I totally agree with you post.

Quite true Riverside. Not only is it driving away true talent but also the crowds. Less than 20,000 to watch the Huddersfield game and it was Kids For A Quid! Hate to think what we'll get against Bristol City for our next home game.

I think the idea was to send him on loan to make him grow up a little bit, not to let him go on the cheap.

Pretty sure he'll be back at end of season to see if he's matured as a person. Class clowns we can do without. If he can demonstrate that then I think he'll have a chance. If not then he'll be off.

Dont think anyone has any doubts about pattersons talents or ability. I think its all about attitude. When we were struggling he failed to come back from injury in a positve frame of mind. Freedman wanted a united dressing room and all players pulling for the cause. I read that patterson was a negative influence and so freedmsn wanted him away from the club. If that's the case it has worked for us in the long run. Remember antonio was dropped before his transfer as his head was not right. DF has the clubs best interest at heart.

If Pato has proved he can come back to help his defence, tackle properly, and not hog the ball when he could pass it, it might be worth giving him a try again, alternatively if we could get a decent price for him then I'd let him go, he doesn't convince me he's that good and we have a load of very good youngsters coming through.

Tomorrow
I am led to believe that figures were agreed when He went on loan, a sum was agreed if they were to buy him in Jan and then another if it went to the end of the season. Other clubs were looking at him in Jan but couldn't do anything because of the terms of the loan, but at the end of the season we will be back in the driving seat if they decide they don't want to pay our price.
