Just watched Dougie's interview on the OS. Liked the things he had to say (but then I was always impressed listening to Stuart, thought he always made sense and spoke with sincerity). Dougie was very quick to say he didn't put too much store in 'individuals' much more interested in a team approach and instilling some desire to wear the shirt with pride. I don't expect miracles (he also said he can't work miracles) but improving teamwork, endeavour and pride will surely take a few games, so I really hope people aren't on his back if we don't win handsomely this Saturday - of course we may get the benefit of new manager bounce! Like all of the recent appointments (let's face it, there have been plenty) he talked about how good it was to come to such a great club with great history. History, hmmm. got me thinking. Maybe it's time we were less hung up on the club's past. There's only really now and the future to worry about. We'll only have a great future with the right leadership, some real pride in wearing that shirt and real passion from the players. Seriously good 'man manager' needed. We've still got a long way to go, but I'm ever hopeful. Go for it Dougie. TRIVIA QUESTION: I don't know the answer to this one with any degree of certainty. Across the whole of Europe, which previous winner of the European Cup/Champions League is currently ranked the lowest in their domestic league? Is it us? Perhaps dwelling on past glories leads us to expect too much now? Hoping Dougie steadies the ship and points us in the right direction. Let's have some stability and build on that. P. S. if anyone knows the true answer to the question, I'd be interested to know.

Stuart Pearce always instilled confidence in the way he articulated himself, but alas couldn't carry it out on the pitch. Two things you mention that give me hope with Dougie Freedman:
"No store in individuals" & more of a "team ethic". We place far too much emphasis on Antonio going forward & maybe his direct approach has yielded personal results but its alienating central midfield & our team play is suffering. Surely we have more chance of breaking through defences as a passing unit rather than a one man "battering ram" out wide. Our reliance on him has been worked out & Dougie needs to develop some more attacking options through the middle, with less emphasis on the long ball.

All the right noises so far, fingers crossed we can at least look forward to something a bit easier on the eye.

Suffolkred, looked on wikepedia, looks like all previous winners are in the top division of their country except us, I think fans should accept that we are now a second tier club whith aspirations of the PL, like many clubs in the championship and our past doesn't get us any points, in fact it may work against us, the reason visiting fans sing your not famous anymore is because we are, but not as GOOD

3.) 04 Feb 2015
Unfortunately Suffolk the record says a team in red from the East Midlands holds that record having played in the third tier of their home league!

Even little Mechelen from Belgium are back in the first division.
Koln and Genoa are our nearest rivals

Manager, backroom staff, physio all gone in less than 6 months. BD apart, Fawaz has given a manager no more than six months. !That tells me that there is no long term plan, no understanding of the game, no patience.
And before people comment about No Fawaz, no club etc. he is a man who is a fan of the club, whose family have invested a lot of money but the club is in a real mess and as is proved he is the man who is making all the decisions. He must take a large chunk of resposibilty
What are McGovern, Faulkner doing there ?How can we be missing payments to other clubs ? Either somebody is not doing there job or like recent rumours does Fawaz have cash flow problems. ? OK sack SP but how many of us can see DF as the answer.

McGovern is now showing his real colours. He was over SP like a rash. When he got the push McGovern did not say a word, not wanting to upset Fawaz. Now SP has gone McGovern is basically saying that SP was not up for it. Was McGovern instrumental in getting FD in? Similarly the same position with McGovern and Faulkner.
I still say that Fawaz is not as rich as people think, and although he did not accept the deadline offers, this is all a front and he will carry on bringing the good name of the club down. Cloughie, Billy Walker must be rolling in their graves. For those who do not know Mr Walker was the last Forest manager to win the FA Cup. The first time a team won the cup with 10 men. I am old enough to remember the match seeing it in black and white on TV.

At least now we can't be saddled with 'arry. Blessing in disguise!

9.) 04 Feb 2015
Slaughtered for good reason Wilderbeast. You've been saying Antonio along with the others is carp. Fact is without his efforts this season we would be bottom 3 by now. When DF gets this team playing i hope you will come on here and admit you were wrong.

10.) 04 Feb 2015
Fred: Antonio has the personal stats but our win record is still garbage. Consider the fact his individual style of carrying the ball from deep & riding tackles out wide is alienating our midfield. Antonio doesn't fit easily into many formations.

11.) 04 Feb 2015
Understood Cjay and agree to a certain extent. In the absence of Reid though Antonio is the only player always eager to recieve and not too eager to get rid. I admit though he does try and do too much at times and take on one man too many.

12.) 05 Feb 2015
You're missing my point Fred. I'm very thankfully of Antonio's effort and goals from earlier in the season but my point is, if he's our best player, we must truly be a poor team.
