Now that Fawaz is gone, will all those boycotting the club return?

Or will they wait to see how the new guy spends his money, before continuing their boycott.

Anyone who thinks that with the departure of Fawaz, we have got rid of the problem within the club is deluded.

Fawaz was a problem without a doubt, but he was not the only problem and by no stretch of the imagination the biggest.

We have thousands of good loyal fans and they are among the best in the country.

We also have a few hundred not so loyal fans. These fans think they are loyal, but they are very fickle. They are too quick to criticise, they want the club to spend money it does not have and they are forever threatening to boycott the ground. They were there under Nigel Doughty and they are still there.

Spend money we do not have. Wonder what their politics are.

The only thing that protesting does is saves the protesters money. How often has a club changed its attitude on a subject because of protesting.

Watching boring football is more interesting than standing up holding a bit of wood, or banner spouting words that have no effect, and that is saying something.

No one should boycott the club they support just because they don't like the owner, it makes things worst and while I am very glad to see the back of him, he didn't wake up one morning and think, you know what I'm going to buy forest and waste 100 million pounds and run the club into the ground. no one does that and there are plenty of owners just as bad as him on running a club.
Villa, Leeds sheep, Birmingham, Sheffield clubs, wolves, Coventry,
All clubs whose fans believe they belong in the prem, but all badly run and that's why they are with us.

{Ed001's Note - surely it depends on what the owner has done?}

Edd agree and at least Fawaz is selling now, for all Blackburn and Coventry fans protests they're still lumbered with their owners.
Blackpool fans have boycotted and the oystons are still in charge and they've built em three quarters of a stadium but ruined the club in the process .
Staying away achieves nothing.

{Ed003's Note - You need to do some research on Blackpool, the stadium was paid for by football league grants and Valeri Belekon's ( a 20 % shareholder) investment and as a side note is suing the Oyston's in the high court this summer.
The Blackpool fans are staying away as a 'not a penny more protest' as many monies have been taken out of the football club and put in the Oyston's other business's,why would any Blackpool fan go and pay in when their money is diverted away from the club, never mind the countless and still ongoing legal actions against fans ? If they don't go their is an appetite for a phoenix club but I doubt it will come to that.

I know about blackpool but my point was bad owners in general not a specific case and all that goes with it.

The protests were to drive the chairman out, isn't he now going?
I, d say those who put up bits of wood and words that obviously had no effect? are some of Forests most loyal supporters, people who by regularley attendeding have the absolute right to protest .

The right to protest as been fundamental to what we in England take for granted,
People in charge tend to like their own way always have done always will do.
CARLO.

My view on this is that our fans do have unrealistic expectations. We are still victims of the success that set the bar too high for an relatively unfashionable club as it raised expectations too high. No one was in a position to turn the silver into gold and many of us find it frustrating that we can't compete in tier 2.

It's quite hard to understand how we got so bad but I think Clough covered over a lot of rot at the club - God bless him - and it all fell apart quickly around him as his magic sadly ran out.

It's still hard to comprehend the rapidity of our demise which shows that one mans magic made us special rather than the greatness of the club. Fergie wasn't dissimilar but Man Utd ensured the magic of a man set the foundations of a great club.

So you've driven an owner out that you detest, are you sure the ship that's sailing in will be better?
How long is he allowed to own the club without successbefore it's time to protest and get rid of him?
He's in charge and it's his money.
Most owners aren't liked even man utd and what they got to moan about
There's no guarantee of success, I'll just be happy to watch my team every week play good football without the fear of relegation and not be laughed at next season.
New era let's hope there's no need for protests.

Carlo

Who is to say that the chairman was not just fed up with his toy.

When you are a manager doing a decent job you have some semblance of power by being prepared to walk out, Clough knew he could make a decent living wherever he decided to go, be it in football or whatever else he turned his hand to.

Fans are just an insignificant byproduct of owning a club.

Don't get to excited yet Wisheyeddove according to Companies House Fawaz is still the owner and the deal has not gone through yet. This Greek guy has a lot to prove to the Football League before he can get his hands on our beloved Forest.

Agreed Bezman. So far we have had promises from Fawaz that he will, is, has sold the club, but as yet no confirmation that is the case. First things first.

Carlo

Please tell us all :

When on Boxing Day some teams have to travel huge distances, are the fans considered.

When some broadcasting companies change games days, and times at short notice, are the fans considered.

If you wrote, emailed, or phoned the club asking to see someone to discuss something to improve the club, would you be seen.

Good point to be fair
Best just to watch the team, have a good day with your mates and keep out of the politics of the club.

Some on here saying Fawaz problems have been caused by listening to Gobby fans, others saying fans are irrelevant, you can't have it both ways .
I don, t know one fan who, s happy with the last five years so people are bound to moan but only because things have far beyond what most fans are prepared to tolerate, it, s just been one ba--s up after another and the owner carrying blindly on, no doubt he was still signing players right up to the Jan transfer window, more poor signings .
Most fans I know would be happy just to follow a well run club who do their best and try to fulfill fans hopes, we all know you can't win em all.
CARLO.

Carlo but in a way they have both got a point.
To me especially this season this group of players have let us down, after all they are the ones who go on the pitch and Wear the shirt.
They seem to think it's OK to turn it on when it suits and this is a very unforgiving league, you can't do that.
We have a small nucleus of players worth keeping, the rest need to go, they are not up to the job.
This group have cost at least three managers their jobs and as I said before the Ipswich game I left at the final whistle as I don't think they deserve adulation for nearly getting us relegated.
MW hopefully has identified the ones with no bottle for a scrap and will ship em out.
They collectively won the award for the worst forest Away side in 90 years.
So while Fawaz was clueless in how to run the club and I offer no defence for that, the buck stops with the players, they are paid handsomely by the club, the least they could do is wear the shirt with pride and give 100% even in defeat.
