Reports from France that Montanier is lining up Bordeaux's midfielder Abdou Traore, who has played 6 times this season in Ligue 1. Sounds like another diamond in the rough, probably all Fawaz's idea!

Why is he bothering - he'll be gone next week!

2.) 08 Jan 2017 15:21:45
Won't be happening. Carayol, Lica, Dimitru, Perquis, Kasami, Bendtner, Stojokovic, Velios. None of these are good enough. Time to terminate contracts!

3.) 08 Jan 2017 15:48:02
Some of these are OK as squad players, but Bluebird is right, time for our bi-annual clear out. Instead of replacing the chaff with the usual not quite has been's, just play the kids for the next couple of years.

4.) 08 Jan 2017 17:03:09
Not even good enough to clean the toilets

5.) 09 Jan 2017 08:21:50
Vellios is our best striker

6.) 09 Jan 2017 08:23:54
If it's terminating contracts I'd agree on Lica and dimitru but all the others you have listed can do a job under the right management or as squad players. Reports in the papers say first out the door will be Lansbury, then mills and mancienne will be gone for next to nothing as new owners want to slash the wage bill before getting more players in. hopefully with decent back room staff coming in, we should see more of a structured wage set up and won't be held to ransom buying or selling on the cheap with no clauses. we can't expect miricles now tho, this isn't FIFA where you can clear your squad and buy a whole new one without repercussions. I'd say it will be at least 2 full seasons until we start seeing the squad that will take us to the next level.

7.) 09 Jan 2017 09:45:38
Montainier won't get the chance to sign his targets. The first job of the new owners is to get him gone and payed off.

8.) 09 Jan 2017 11:19:36
CD Player, Velios would struggle to score goals in League 1. You only have to look at Jansssen of Spurs yesterday, so far out of his depth. Danny Murphy hit the nail on the head " not good enough, lacks the necessary quality". We need to score goals! Velios is not the answer and we cannot rely on Britt.

He's more of a threat then sick note assombanolonger

I had a fiver on Ranieri going at the start of the season at 5,000-1, who says lightning doesn't strike twice? Do you think I'll get on East Midlands Today?

Great news that the embargo has been lifted, pity it hasn't been done in time to sign players for this match as we could have done with the points against another out of form team. Anyway, who would you look to bring in- i like Josh Morris at Scunthorpe and Bogle looks like he's worth a gamble, I'd also be tempted with a loan for Downing at Boro - those 3 would make a quite a difference for a start!

Jenko75

1.) 13 Jan 2017 21:05:42
Velios is apparently going back bendtner not doing it. Britt injured. Bogle worth gamble but I hope they chick whatever is left from burkes and Lansbury sale into someone like rhoades or macormack. Ings if he's still doing nowt at Liverpool. It shouldn't put us back under ffp rules because we'd come out of it before burkes devries Patos sales. Just think new owners will want a couple marquee signings.

2.) 13 Jan 2017 21:50:58
I'm pretty sure Ings has a long term injury again.

My shortlist for the next manager in order is as follows;

MON
Pearson
Poyet
Clement
Clough

I think MON and Pearson would do more than just manage and would have the strength of character to sort out much of the rest of our problems. Clough would also sort out our issues but is a pretty average manager so think we would only be a safe and steady side under him. Poyet and Clement would be great on the footballing side but may be swamped by the other issues at the club.

Thoughts?

Assuming we stay up, who would everyone like to chop and change next term and which of the loan players would you like to keep? For me if we can get rid of;

Wilson
Fox
Fryatt
Blackstock

That would surely free up some decent cash.

Then I'd give Reid and C. Burke until the end of the season to prove they've still got a part to play and if not get rid. I like them both but they're too expensive to sit on the bench.

Of the loan players Trotter and OGrady can go, Mendes and Olivera both have something but need to get more clinical so give them until the end of season to prove themselves. Williams probably not an option to keep.

1.) 29 Nov 2015 10:49:55
Would keep oGrady honest pro plus him coming to his hometown club give that extra 5 0/0 prob going to get slated he will never be 20 goal striker we've had plenty of them and struggled to get into double figures let's try it the other way round no fee and wagers should be reasonable.

2.) 29 Nov 2015 14:15:49
Blackstock, Fox, Wilson are on contract I don't see how they can be transferred yet. How long is Fryatt's contract?

3.) 29 Nov 2015 15:19:46
For fryatt to have been out so long and played so few games prior to being out for so long how could he have possibly passed a robust medical? It can't be possible that we didn't sign him already knackered can it?

Perhaps we should make the optician carry out every part of the medical as he was obviously on the money.

4.) 29 Nov 2015 19:42:24
I'd say bye bye to Wilson, fox, Fryatt, Reid, blackstock,

Sign up oliveira, Mendes.

Was a bit gutted this morning after seeing our only source of goals Antonio leave. This was underlined by a Brighton fan at work laughing that we had signed a "donkley" in O'Grady. However, with Freedman being after so many journeymen strikers over the last few weeks it was inevitable that we would get at least one of them and at least O'Grady has shown some form in the past with Barnsley so i might have the last laugh!

However, what i really wanted to say was my mood was perked up no end by a Palace fan who was absolutely raving about Johnny Williams. Apparantly they call him John-iesta at Palace as he has amazing technique and is very creative. If we can get him up and running it could prove to be the best bit of business we have done all window, fingers crossed we pull the signing off (and he doesn'ty get injured again!)

I think O'Grady is only cover for Dex and not there as a first choice striker which is much more likely to be Oliveira or Mendes assume they get signed.
Think we should try and stay positive as possible. 3 out of 4 additions look great for Championship level assuming all paperwork goes through properly.
In the circumstances good work Dougie and Fawaz

think with Grabban, Soundani, Murphy and Bereton for what is likely to be one position we are pretty much set with strikers aren't we? Unless Bereton or Murphy moves on?

i don't think we can or should forget that we were in a transfer embargo due to FFP that almost ruined the club and had a massive effect on the footballing side of things. I trust the owner to make the right call etc but these things are important for championship clubs spending more than their income

I think two of Hobbs, Fox and Lam will go myself. Think he will go for two centre defenders plus youth players in reserve.

I would back Walker in a sprint against any of them, which shows why he's still here. For me he needs to play a season in league one to mature and then he could be a real asset. However, until we get another striker in he's a different option in the squad.

Osborne is a good player, but he needs to hold down one main position. For me Karanka needs to make a decision on either Osborne, Guediora, Bridcutt, Clough, Yates for central midfield and get rid of 2/3 of the rest

2tone most reds think the same as you and put there hands in their pockets to help save county a couple of years back. They haven't been serious rivals of us for some years, i think we were in the same league for about 20mins back in the 90s but even then the derby was more like playing your little brother than a hated enemie. Personally, i wish them well but i don't think we need to offer them charity they should pay their way.
