I'm just going to put this out there to see what my fellow-Reds think:

I would love to see Big M changing-tack and employing a young, hungry British Manager/Coach from the lower-leagues who gets his teams playing attractive, counter attacking football. Historically - the Forest Way. A pipe dream with our current owner? Probably.

However, just imagine it for a minute - as it has happened at Forest before! Big M has a 'rebel streak' in him alongside his massive ego. Imagine someone whispering in his ear that if he was to do the above, with the new Manager/Coach inheriting quality players and making a massive success of his appointment - that would make Big M look like an inspirational Owner and trailblazer within the PL. He'd revel in that.

Like many of you I'm bored with our style of football atm (which contradicts the Forest ethos) and the constant churn of Managers/Coaches who frankly don't give a s*** about our great club. I'm also concerned that we seem to have lost our identity, Are we all happy to be perceived this season as the club playing boring football and hoping to cling onto PL survival? I'm certainly not.

I've come to the conclusion that radical change is needed at Forest soon before the Trent becomes blocked with season tickets that have been cast away.

I like the way you're thinking Legolas, but a young manager from the lower league wouldn't have the experience to handle the enormous egos of a premier league player, they'd s. t all over him. There's been too many managers gone that way, the cowiey brothers and the leather jacket chap Gareth Ainsworth I think his name was and the never got to the prem.

I know that I'm a bit of a dreamer Vale. I make no apologies for that. Dreaming of better things got me from a hospital bed to climbing a mountain. All I'm saying is that today's dreams are tomorrow's reality. That goes as equally in our individual lives to being long-suffering Red supporters! Things need to change at Forest. Quickly.

Oh I agree with you things must change, just not sure how Mr M and the coach will go about it. There's no doubt that Glasner is a good manager just his style isn't the Forest way, no point in having a wide pitch if he doesn't use it.

Legolas, Franks, Potter given a chance at a "top team" all failed even McKenna at Ipswich brought them through the divisions failed in the Premier, I think it's down to a lot of players think about there futures, not the team they happen to be playing for this year, getting the right coach and players buying into there tactics is the alchemy all teams want, and the reason so many coaches lose there jobs before a season is over!.

End of the day it's all about money. Owners see the golden goose and HAVE to have it. What owners should do is find a coach that suits the players the club have.

Good post Lego and food for thought mate.
I'm glad Carrick has a chance at Man Utd. Eddie Howe was highly successful at Bournemouth considering the resources he had available. Played good football too. Won a trophy at Newcastle and was moderately successful. Had long tenures at both clubs, a luxury denied to Forest under Mr M.

Time to work his magic.
Carrick at Man Utd looks interesting but inherits a load of problems to start with.
Mossy, Franks is Danish. But Potter and McKenna failed in the big time for wildly different reasons.
