I was saying to Lego before the game that this would be damage limitation and I'm now very hapoy to be wrong. Definitely a bonus point, like the Arsenal game.
Good energy, grit and workrate with two great goals. Bags of spirit throughout. I've always been a fan of 3 centre backs, especially when 2 of the 3 are are comfortable on the ball and have a pace like Murillo and Cunha. Also when we have wing backs who like to attack like Neco and Aina ( and. Netz on the bench.
We held one of the best teams in world football to a draw and if Yatesy didn't have a 50p head would have won it.

We gave Pep a problem he couldn't solve. Hats off to the much maligned VP for his tactical nous.
And the "bottlers" for carrying it out. MGW and Anderson were stand out but a mention to Dominquez, Sanghere and Taiwo for their effort.
If Jesus had just a yard or two of extra pace he'd be a world beater. As it is, he worked hard and did well against world class defenders.
So now, 8 days off to recuperate and prepare. Gold dust for VP
Coyr!

Stokey, the two goals vie with Tiawo's for goal of the season. MGW has been criticised for his 'tricks', but what a clever goal. Anderson, with a shot on target!
What worries me is that our defence is not happy with playing out from the back. City realised this and pressed high. We were lucky, I felt, that Haaland was not on top of his game. He, I felt, should have had a penalty when Sels brought him down; he was wrestled to the ground on another occasion.

They intercepted our playing-at-the-back ball and should have made more of it. Somehow, Semenyo was in acres of space when he attempted to score or scored. Surely we aren't playing zonal marking?
The referee was really quite kind to us. The books will tell us Fulham should be beaten; however, we all support this team that blows hot and cold, that does nothing for our respective blood pressures!

Agree about the blood pressure, mate. Luckily my pacemaker is turned up to 11. ???
Sels obviously isn't as happy as Ortega is pinging passes out from the back, and should be instructed to keep within his skill set and launch it long under pressure. He got away with one that Haaland intercepted, but he made a couple of reflex saves, which are his strength.

I thought the penalty decisions were correct personally, and considering City were diving more than Tom Daley, I'm amazed no one was booked (it was a favoured team, so perhaps I shouldn't be that surprised).
Likewise, where did the 12 minutes of 7 minutes added time come from? Ref gave them every chance of a winner right at the end. Definitely bent.

Sangare had a poor game, I thought, and failed to quell their midfield.

Agree, Bsered. He looks short of fitness and back to his former slow play before he improved. Yates might provide more energy and goal threat in that position at the moment?
