Paul Faulkner follows Stuart Pearce in leaving
Nottingham Forest. Our new chief executive Paul Faulkner has resigned less than 24 hours after Stuart Pearce has been sacked.

Officially confirmed on Forest Site, Marcus Tudgay Guy Moussi, Jonathan Greening, Matt Derbyshire, Simon Gillett, Ishmael Miller and Gonzalo Jara have all departed the City Ground after their contracts came to an end.

1.) What about the Algerian who now it appears was on loan

{Ed034's Note - he is set to sign July 1st, but we are trying to palm him off. Several clubs are interested in him and I would not expect him to be here the first game of the season

2.) And the clear out begins I wonder will it just be these lads leaving or will there be a few more, surely there is now a large amount of money freed up for one or two high earners too come in. Roll on august I can't wait

3.) No surprises there, we all knew they were leaving, just a matter of waiting for their official contract end date, djebbour will be next. It just shows that Pearce will need to bring in 2 decent strikers, cover for lichaj at right back and cover for Vaughan in midfield, I would just like to see halford, Harding and Collins gone know and I think the rebuild can begin

4.) To be fair a bit harsh on halford, ok he's not the best player we have but he did ok when he had to come in to the side, henderson on the other hand!

{Ed034's Note - I think if we are going with a smaller squad, a player like halford is a must. I would also like to see peltier come in

5.) I agree with you Ed peltier would be a good addition would give us options and cover in a lot of places and has speed too

6.) Peltier and Halrford would be good for next season due to their versatility.

7.) Henderson and Harding are the two who remain surplus to requirements.

8.) Agreed re Peltier. versatile and I must admit I thought he performed well in a struggling side. Covers RB and defensive midfield.

Just been on Talksport that Warnock in advanced talks with Forest. Looks like Billy has gone.

haywood9

1.) Yeah this is unforunately true NEP says that Billy Davies' departure likely to be confirmed today. Quite sad as none of the injuries are his fault and we have a winnable home game tomorrow and only 8 games left after that but it looks like warnock is on his way

2.) If its warnock fine by me we need to change as BD wasn't motivating those players at all and can't keep waiting for the injured to come back, we need points now. if people don't like warnock then fair enough (by the way I'm not keen) but we need to get behind the team COYR

3.) Better put a parachute on the ball and alert East Midlands Airport!

4.) 24 Mar 2014 10:33:46
Sunderland recall Connor Wickham from loan at Leeds

5.) That's got about as much relevance as me stubbing
My big toe last night

6.) Hope you stubbed it on warnock bottom.

Fawaz has revealed Dougie only on 3 months Contract. Why has he made this public, as there is no advantage to be gained by this??
It can only weaken Dougie's position with the fans, players, etc if they think there is a chance he won't be around long.

haywood9

1.) 19 Feb 2015 09:29:31
Lmao fawas probably offered Doug 12months but dougie said what's point i will be gone in 3. So I take 3 months then I know we're I stand. Hehe.

2.) 19 Feb 2015 11:01:59
football is a results bussiness so if df gets results and improves us the owner will be on his side the players will be on his side and most importantly the fans will be on his side its as simple as that. ( if you can read the future in football you will be a very rich person )

3.) Told you before sack Freedman

4.) Please tell me what the heck is going on in Fawaz head, just keep Dougie permanent, give the bloke a chance,we need stability, unless Fawaz has Pep Gaurdiola lined up for the summer the mind boggles 😒

5.) Length of the contract is irrelevant to Dougie Freedman. Out of work, the call comes to manage Nottingham Forest. A squad like that with 3 wins in 24?? Any manager would back himself to better that and increase his stock. Whichever way this goes, Dougie will be better off for it.

6.) I'm really confused. I HEARD from Dougie's own lips that the contract was 18 months! All this chopping and changing doesn't do us any favours. Who in their right minds would come to us knowing that they won't have time to get the seat warm before they're clearing their desk. Doesn't anyone else DREAM of having the same manager in situ for at least a whole season?

7.) Same old, same old. Fawaz never learns .

8.) Suffolk Red: I would happily buy into Dougie Freedman for a couple of seasons, the reality is that fawaz will already be looking for higher profile names to do the impossible & take us up next year. Todays development suggests to me someone has stepped forward. Petrescu, Warburton, Redknapp?? who knows.

9.) Quite a agree Red Joy,i slated Cannock Forest for his post on the 14Feb(we are a laughing stock)but after the latest statement from Fawaz i am not so sure,i hope Dougie stays,we need stability ,we are all grateful for his saving the club, but a statement like that should have been made at the end of the season, hope he can still motivate the players for Sat.😈

10.) Lol won't say I didn't tell u so but I did and the merry go round starts again but glad it's only 3 months

11.) 19 Feb 2015 13:49:15
After the way Brentford have performed I would take Warburton all day long if DF did leave. Can't see Warburton being a name Fawaz would want. More likely Big Sam if he leaves West Ham however unpopular he has been Warburton for me if chance arises.

12.) In the first press conference I'm sure John McGovern said it was 18 months, although I seem to remember he hesitated somewhat when pressed.

13.) Looks like DF was working out his notice from day one then. It does show, however, that FAH is at least getting some idea of the average life expectancy of a Forest manager.

14.) What planet are you guys on to think that any half decent manager will look at us? We are complete poison .

15.) 19 Feb 2015 15:51:35
All that if want is stability.
Does my head in, not knowing from one game to the next who will be the manager.
I was sad to see Pearce go, not to chuffed to see Dougie but he's done nought wrong, so why chuck him out?
If he goes? Why not David Moyes? Before I get blasted, Think about it, humiliated at Utd, wants to manage in England again, made Everton into a proper team with Peanuts and youth and he likes playing proper football.

16.) Trickie don't want to fall out with you mate . I agree with a lot if what you post. But Moyes? Hahahahaha!!!

17.) If Freedman does well to the end of the season he will stay if not he will go but that would happen whatever length of contract he had. What length of contract did Pearce have? Didn't protect him.

18.) @Twf79: That would be true in the normal run of events but you have to factor in that DF has inherited a team on its knees and the short-term nature of his engagement restricts his and, by association, the club's forward planning.

Someone posted a while back that DFs appointment was an 'interruption' to any progress and I berated that in the reasonable but mistaken belief that the club/owner couldn't possibly share that view.

More fool me.

Paul Hart, who is a pretty good judge, chose him as his assistant.
We should give dougie a chance and see what he can do with these players

Also if you think he is a bad appointment, let's hear your choices??

Dougie freedman did a good job at palace AND at Bolton with what he had to deal with. Overpaid players who didn't want to play in the championship.

Did see it what was on?

Absolutely. Fawaz has given Billy a chance but has not worked. Even with the injuries there is no excuse for not getting Pace and a striker in pre-season, and far too many draws when should have had wins!
