The first game of the season is looking likely to be moved for sky tv.
Moving to the Friday.
I have friends that work in the Amex for BHA.

1.) 20 Jun 2015 06:55:13
Really? Put two mid table teams on prime slot on sky on the opening day of the championship. Surely they would pick two highly entertaining top teams.

2.) 20 Jun 2015 08:12:01
Terrific! That should cut the Red's away support down. No chance of getting to Brighton on a Friday night if your at work till 5.

3.) 20 Jun 2015 10:31:32
Real belter to open the season!

4.) 20 Jun 2015 13:57:45
Us Brighton based Reds will still make it 😂

5.) 20 Jun 2015 14:44:41
Can't believe so calledforest fans are calling their team mid table team love it or leave it

6.) 20 Jun 2015 17:24:02
Agree. To illustrate the point Brighton are currently 5th and occupy a playoff spot whilst it looks perilous for us. We are 18th and are zero points away from a relegation spot.

7.) 20 Jun 2015 17:42:38
Maybe it's known as being realistic?

8.) 20 Jun 2015 17:54:51
Merely keeping my feet firmly on the ground for the coming season, no hopes equals no disappointment. People just seem to think that Nffc should be in the premiership, they think we should make the top 6 every season, why? Enjoy it for what it is, a game of football supporting Nffc, and yes I am a true fan of over 40 years, and have seen highs and lows, mainly lows! So don't expect it to happen and it may just happen.

9.) 20 Jun 2015 19:13:57
I do see your point, I for one do not expect us to be in the premiership or the top six. Unless we deserve to be. We are where we are for a reason. And like yourself I have been on this carousel for over 40 years. However I see the dawning of each new season as the perfect time to have renewed optimism and hope. A clean slate, It may have all gone south by the end of August but that is part and parcel of supporting our team. I don't have a blinkered outlook here I just try to remain positive. "Always look on the bright side of the Trent"

10.) 21 Jun 2015 02:40:56
Nffc should always compete in the championship.

That's my only expectation, surely that's realistic ?

11.) 21 Jun 2015 16:10:50
If we won on Friday at Brighton we would start the season top of the league, what a start !

Apparently Mackie has just done is medical at QPR, official announcement tomorrow.

Trickie23

1.) 15 Jun 2015 20:20:29
on a free but at least his wages will be off wage bill

2.) 15 Jun 2015 20:42:42
A good move for both, we never saw the best of Jamie M but it wasn't for the lack of effort was it.

So who is next tesche? Paterson?

3.) 15 Jun 2015 21:20:28
Please, please, Please, please, Please, please, let it be Abdoun.

4.) 15 Jun 2015 22:22:46
Oh yes Abdoun. I think he will be with us next season.

This will be a strange pre season

5.) 15 Jun 2015 23:46:11
I bet abdoun and Patterson will go back to where they came from one free too think we should rename the ground pay day loans lol

6.) 16 Jun 2015 06:09:01
Jamie who?

7.) 16 Jun 2015 08:48:57
Why do we never get a fee for players.
We always pay top money for players then give them away.
No wonder we have no money

8.) 16 Jun 2015 09:35:13
Abdoun won't go anywhere. Would you if you were on £37000 a week for doing nothing. He will see his contract out to the bitter end.

9.) 16 Jun 2015 10:39:22
1978. we made a profit on the likes of Gunter, Darlow, Lascelles, Guedioura. And I'm pretty sure you can add Antonio and Lansbury to that list this summer.

Failures lose money, successful players make a profit.

The problem is we want to keep our good players and off load over paid failures; but we have many more of the latter!!

10.) 16 Jun 2015 12:17:33
Gunter and Guedioura are the only two that you could count as we bought them the others were home grown.
There must be a list as long as your arm that we paid a fee for and end up with nothing or them. Wilson for one We gave him to Celtic and then end up paying silly money to get him back. Earnshaw 3.5 mill and walks away for free.
Keep doing this and Fawaz will be skint

11.) 16 Jun 2015 19:23:53
1978 -that's how it works at every club, surely. Some you buy, improve, and sell on for a profit, some you buy and they leave for less or free, some you train up through the academy and sell for a profit. The trick is getting the balance right.

06 Jun 2015 21:11:33
Has anyone heard anything about Radi or Mackie's future at the club??
I know Mackie is on a large wage, but 13/14 he earnt every penny of it. Not the greatest player, far from it.

Trickie23

1.) 07 Jun 2015 16:23:47
As we cannot get rid DF is going to use sports science to clone them both and create Radi Mackiejski who would be the the most creative and hard working box to box midfielder in the Championship, plus that frees up a place in the squad and saves some wages!

DF thinks this is the way to go of creating offensive WMD's from the destructive WMD's left by the manager of the same initials.

Just think who else we could clone?

2.) 07 Jun 2015 17:02:03
all of em and that would create pugsy

3.) 08 Jun 2015 12:08:54
The club are trying to sell Radi on. Clubs in Poland have been linked as well as Scunthorpe.

Mackie. I'd like to see him given a chance under DF seeing as there's no point getting rid. Good player IMO

My son's coach is part of the villa set-up. Some of his group are seeing the same knee specialist as Brit in London.
Apparently, Brit has done severe damage inside his knee, some of the worst the specialist has seen. A year is a very loose estimation. It's likely to be longer if at all. Still early days but not looking good.

Trickie23

1.) 21 Feb 2015 14:33:32
So your son plays for villa??

2.) 21 Feb 2015 14:58:05
Sounds like scare mongering to me

3.) 22 Feb 2015 09:17:39
Didn't Shaun barker suffer the same injury?obviously it won't be exactly the same injury but both dislocated there kneecaps and both have done severe damage to there ligaments.they said barker will be out for a year but then changed it to 16 months.i won't be expecting him back until we are out of the transfer embargo which will be 2016/2017 season.
So I don't think trickie will be far wrong to be honest

4.) Ironically Barker sustained his injury playing against us in march 2012. He is now back in training. For now it's all speculation, after all how long is a piece of string?

5.) 22 Feb 2015 12:04:27
You really have to wonder why people post such unpleasantness. the attention? Britt saw a consultant in the Midlands, he is having a 2 week break in London then is back for rehab under the care of the consultant in the Midlands. the same team as for Cohen. It is also understood he will travel to USA with Cohen to see the famous surgeon who has operated on many top athletes and players.

6.) 22 Feb 2015 23:16:19
I don't believe this post.

11 Feb 2015 06:01:37
Might be, being really stupid here and it might be obvious. But why if Faulkner resigned is he on Gardner's Leave??
Or is this his notice period?
Or has he actually been given the chop by Fawas for poor performance and he's saving face?

Trickie23

1.) 11 Feb 2015 07:49:30
As with most jobs mate I imagine when he resigned there was a notice period he has to give. Most people obviously work their notice period but obviously fawaz doesn't want him around the club/office finishing his notice. Therefore he goes on what is gardening leave. So he sits at home on full pay for that period. Employment legalities I guess

2.) 11 Feb 2015 12:03:38
That sounds about right, Keeno. The thing with senior roles in private companies is that - in my experience - they usually carry long notice periods (six months in the last big company I worked for). Faulkner's short tenure may have an impact on his termination terms though.

3.) 11 Feb 2015 17:36:50
If he resigned, there would be no notice period to serve. If anything Forest could pursue repayment of his notice period from him.
Gardening leave is usually used to stop someone going from one place to a competitor with sensitive or useful info (e.g. player dealings, contract issues etc). I would suggest Faulkenor was privvy to some stuff Fawaz doesn't want other clubs or the media to know about. Probably standard for any footbal club.

4.) 11 Feb 2015 18:48:44
Kev, think your getting confused mate. of course there is a notice period to serve if he resigned. As there is with the vast majority of jobs. Obviously sacking someone incurs no notice period

5.) Not quite Keeno. If he resigned his contract would state a period of notice to give. If he chose not to serve that notice, the club could claim breach of contract and seek the costs back off him. He would certainly not be put on gardening leave.

If i resigned today and didn't come back, there is no way my employer, like most, would pay me for my notice period. Would yours?

Gardening leave is to prevent the passing of any sensitive info the leaver may have about the employer to another employer. Or as a "sweetener" to let someone quietly. But i didn't wanna start any conspiracy theories!

6.) 11 Feb 2015 23:20:42
If there is any general issue around commercially sensitive information and the like, that would need to have been dealt with as a clause in the contract of employment. A confidentially agreement may be reached on termination but, if not dealt with in the employment contract, it would be a separate arrangement and nobody would be under any obligation to sign up to it. Furthermore, as an agreement which, by its nature, places limits on a former employee's future activities, it would probably come at some financial cost. 'Gardening leave' means you're still a paid employee for the duration of your notice period but don't show up at the office as we no longer expect you to carry out your duties and we don't want you poking your nose into our affairs. This means they can't work for anyone else until their time is up without consent and you buy yourself a bit of time for your lawyers to try and tie things up as tightly as they can.

No conspiracy theories from me either but I'll bet Faulkner would have a tale or two worth listening to.

7.) 12 Feb 2015 00:02:56
You're missing the point Kev. Quite clearly he has decided that he wants to serve his notice period which is something he is perfectly entitled to do as with any job. However fawaz doesn't want him at the club and as with any other job he is placed on gardening leave and that is what gardening leave is!!!
You're quite right though, if you just walked away from you're job and refused to do your notice period then your employer wouldn't have to pay u. But that's you're choice and therefore gardening leave isn't relevant in that instance. Faulkner quite clearly wants to complete his notice period and why wouldn't he when he is getting paid to put his feet up at home.
Any confidential info you're alluding to would be dealt with under a completely different section of his contract and would relate to when employed and not employed at nffc in any case. On your logic what's to stop him disclosing this 'confidential info' simply when his notice period expires???? But I believe the bloke above explains this in more detail too

8.) 12 Feb 2015 07:00:21
Oh dear me, you guys have all got it so wrong.

Fawaz has clearly let his shrubs etc.get out of control, what with being so busy at the club. PF has been put on gardening leave to make sure all Fawaz lawns and shrubs are kept trim and in shape. When Fawaz is satisfied he will then stop paying him and relieve him of his duties. Unless he does a really fantastic job he may be re-employed as head Groundsman

9.) 13 Feb 2015 05:57:44
Just as I thought then!
Clear as Mud.

Thought I saw him, then there's pics on social media with him at the petrol station filling his Merc up.

How are we going to scrap our way out of the financial restraints that we are in when the shop managers can't even get there heads around a lot launch, it requires all the kit to sell. Still no goalkeepers shorts for the littleone.
I know there has been a unexpected amount of kit sold but surely we should have every item available just over a week to go for kick off.
We need as much revenue as we can, if there's limited home shirts then flood the shop with the away lot. It's not rocket science.

Kelvin Wilson, Chris Cohen, Tesche, Vaughan, Andy Reid, Burke, Stephen McLaughlin, Rsdi & Abdoun are all out of contract next summer, I can only see 2/3 of these contracts being renewed a possible 1 other depending on his continued development.
Should take a massive chunk out of FFP.

Trickie23

1.) 28 Jul 2015 07:18:20
McLaughlin, and the Polish and Algerian footballer should be gone before then. I would also let the others go. Wilson and Vaughan not pulled up any trees and were BD signing. Burke will be 32 yrs old. Oliver Burke can replace them. Also surely with their injury problems Cohen and Teid will not be offered new contracts.

2.) 28 Jul 2015 10:33:06
Tesche if the season goes well for him you would keep however I agree all the remainder would move on with a saving of approx 4 million in salary or over. Surely the sensible unemotional way forward for this club.

3.) 28 Jul 2015 12:45:53
Let's see what Cohen and Reid offer this season first. If they both stay fit they are key players for us and should remain. Wilson, Vaughan, McLaughlin abdoun, magic can all go.
Chris Burke is a quality champ player and I would def keep him. Showed against Doncaster with that goal just how good he is

4.) 28 Jul 2015 21:01:56
Keeno

The lad that went to Celtic, Commons very inconsistent, but always produced when contracts were due, what's the odds Cohen, and Reid do the same? Then long term injured once signed.

27 Jul 2015 06:41:50
Does anyone have any news on the condition of Reid or Cohen? It's all gone quiet recently.

Trickie23

1.) 27 Jul 2015 08:28:05
just don't count them in the squad would be easier would take them a while to get back to 100% {if ever} by then will be injured again,

2.) 27 Jul 2015 09:21:12
Reid is in light training and happy with his progress.im sure Cohen has been said to be back end of sept.

21 Jul 2015 15:51:11
Not Forest banter but linked.
What is it with Man City fans, thinking they can Lord it over everyone. They've bought the league title, they bought there fans they've bought their ground, which the likes of me and you paid for and suddenly they are football royalty.
I did like them before the money, the working class manc supporting city, the rest of the world Utd. Underdogs always in the shadows of there neighbours punching above there weight. Relegation followed by fight back etched etc.
Now I think they all need a reality check. 1 trophy don't make heritage, that city back in the day wouldn't recognise the farce that is now.
Thanks Rant over. Please feel free to add teams or contents.

Trickie23

1.) 21 Jul 2015 17:59:17
What I find funny is the utd fans moaning about city buying all the best players and out bidding teams for them.yet that's exactly what utd did for years and years.

2.) 21 Jul 2015 20:56:32
Slightly envious?

Have we not tried to do the same but not really pulled it off?

I like GG as much as the next man but firstly he's out injured. Great faith in him coming back to full fitness but don't need the extra strain of another injury on the squad. Personally I'd try my damm hardest to keep all the kids. And as for a 500k bid, well that's embarrassing on Villas part. Go hang your heads in shame.

On the Britt front, I'd rather wait till he's fit and healthy to come back rather than rushing him. We've done that to many times and paid the price.

I can see the logic in bringing Reid on last 20, but can't see him wanting to be a part time squad member.
Do we know the length of Reids remaining contract?
I read the same article last year, he'll be back late September.
I truly do want him to return & to something close to his best. But I just am struggling to see it happening. Age, Fitness & injuries all against him sadly. Hope he proves me wrong!

His interviews & opinions are very similar to Billy's.
He's almost defending his actions prior to actually doing anything by slating historical issues which are done & dusted.
So far on a team ethos basis only, I'm on board. But making calls like bringing Hendo back on a trial, well that's just as good as getting your p45 out of the drawer ready to be processed.
Time will tell.
