Anyone seen the news article regarding marinakis allegedly being implicated in a potential criminal ring?

The allegations include setting up a criminal organisation, conspiring to rig the outcomes of football matches, extortion, bribery and violating the law regulating explosives. The Olympiacos owner and other club and Football Association officials are due to appear before prosecutors to offer explanations on the 20th of August.

Too much political stuff going on in Greece to make any kind of judgment on what has been happening.

Have to remember that he's rich and most Greeks aren't. There has been a bit of a class and political war going on against the rich in Greece.


Personally I have to question why you would try so hard to make so much trouble when you didn't need to because of your fortune. However, some can't help themselves so until the courts say otherwise he's innocent.

Would be interesting to see what happened if he was convicted and thrown out by the league.

Marinakis has built up his own personal fortune and is extremely influencial in the shipping world so he clearly knows how to run an international business and a Champions League football club. His foundation also supports worthy causes. He has chosen to enter Greek politics which is a viper pit especially as Greece choses not to have an accountable taxation system, making successful businessmen an easy target for the have nots and reformists!
The allegations are so far unsubstantiated so we need to reserve judgment rather than make "Oyston" type defamation comments on his character!
So the " Forum Jury" is asked to compare the CV's of current and potential owners as to their ability to take us forward and decide?
