DF - 'I will flat out not make a signing just to appease fans!'

How about you just say the club are working hard to bring in the right players and we need to be very diligent in the process'. And then leave it at that.

And also keep your opinion of previous club/manager dealings to yourself Dougie. You knew full well the position the club was in when taking the job. And I can categorically say that in any of their positions you would have spent exactly the same if the money was there.

I quite like the way DF is going about things at the moment in terms of the players he is bringing in/looking at, but the interview grates me and is unnecessary.

His interviews are bizarre, aggressive and lacking in poise. They are not aimed at answering questions but simply a vehicle to aggressively state his point irrespective of context.

Not sure which aggressive vertically challenged scot is worse: the one who won't talk at all or the one that talks about anything other than what he was asked - in a very aggressive way!

Remember Freedman is a small fish in a big pond. Sometimes so eager to give the impression he has everything covered he comes across as patronising & abraisive. He has good intentions though, just wants to be quietly authoratitive I suspect.

His interviews & opinions are very similar to Billy's.
He's almost defending his actions prior to actually doing anything by slating historical issues which are done & dusted.
So far on a team ethos basis only, I'm on board. But making calls like bringing Hendo back on a trial, well that's just as good as getting your p45 out of the drawer ready to be processed.
Time will tell.

There is no PR Dept. at NFFC and lots of lazy journalism around. Reporters feel they have to fill pages and TV slots. So far despite all the hype and nonsense we only have 3 players signed and it'll probably not move much very further from that. We should only pass judgement on DF from results on the pitch.

DF is going to have to lower expectations this season. Having to rely on youngsters and players being "versatile" is a recipe for inconsistent performances. Like Davies he is already lining up the reasons why Forest won't be pushing for promotion this season!

Cjay, I agree with your statements.

less face it he will know a good percentage of fans don't want him there and would like him to fail, that is bound to make you defensive.

Be great if he proves the doubters wrong - I include myself in that albeit I'm very willing to give him a fair chance.

if it goes wrong we can always go back to the big queue of proven talent who are just itching to take up the challenge can't we.
