For me Mills has a lot to win me over. Mills is nothing more than one of the managers cronies.

Well at least he seems to have half a brain to organise the back line.

Hobbs Mills Wilson could make a great back 3 if we get some fast full backs!

Put in a call for a 352 a while back & Mr Redinexile put it down as "doomed for relegation". Funny how opinions constantly change. If your happy with Antonio out the loop then let's go with a 352.

Hobbs can not stay fit, Mills a crony, Wilson back problems. All you need is Cohen, Reid, and Ward all injury prone, and you have bunch of unreliable has beens costing the club a fortune.

Mills a Crony??? What does that even mean??? Mills played 41 games last season & if i'm not mistaken Bolton Conceded fewer than us. Mills is a decent player who ain't constantly broken.
What is your point about Mills & Freedman & how is it relevant???

Mills said he jumped at the chance to work with df again translated that means df told him he will be first choice and captain.

I'm pleased with this one, he is experienced, good in the air and will organise the defence better than anyone we have. The best pairing would be Mancienne and Mills, but I fear we will see Mancienne in midfield a lot more and Hobbs partnering Mills.

Who cares if he told him that. Not unreasonable to see why he may rate him higher than Hobbs and Wilson. And even if he doesn't he simply may recognise how much we lack q leader. And not even the big idiot on here can think we have an abundance of players who stepped up and led last season!!

Prediction hobbs and mills will be one of the best cb pairings in the division

I've been saying for some time that most of the Championship clubs who have gone up have huge blokes in central defence. If he can give us passion and commitment Mills along with Hobbs could be a good paring.

Cjay,

Please review my posts!

I have always maintained we should play to our strengths and given the balance of the squad 3-5-2 is a logical set up even for last season.

Antonio should not be a factor in this equation as he can do far more damage if played as a second striker in a free role where the opposition cannot double up and contain him on the flanks. This would also stop us being so one dimensional in our play and get the best out of others especially the Burkes!

Unfortunately at present Kane and McLoughlin and for that matter Mackie have been dispensed with so our squad wing back options are very thin on the ground.

No matter DF is by all accounts a "bright young thing" committed to "scouring Europe" for talent so I am sure he must have a plan for balancing up the holes in the squad he has created? Default to 4-4-2 will not move us forward next season

Time will tell!. a luxury he may not have?

Antonio proved last year that he is not a striker I'm afraid so that isn't his best role. He is a winger and was at his best throughout the season on the wing

Antonio never played with a strike partner. He would get far more space if played in a free role.
