Everyone of the five sheeps signings would walk in our team. I predict a difficult season more difficult than last year.

They have a very good chance of promotion this year (I am sorry to say)

And what optimism is that based on or is it just blind faith. We have weaker squad and team than last year

Derby have been good because everyone plays for each other a very close knit team,as soon as they bought some higher profile players in (ince bent and lingaard) it went tits up.now they are doing it again will they be the same team or will it make the core unhappy that they are being turfed out.
Like a lot say on here it's good that you have good individual players but you have to get them playing together.
I personally think there getting these players in due to a couple leaving, and I think martin will be one of them.

Derby are much better than forest on all fronts.

Attendant loyal fan base

Better commercial model

Better stadium.

Now benefiting hugely from the eight year rebuilding plan they have stuck too to create a sustainable, inspirational and charismatic football club.

We've got a lot to learn. I still hate them though.

They aren't benefitting from any long term plan at all. They are simply spending a fortune and gambling on promotion. If it doesn't come off and the same FFP conditions apply they will be in the proverbial. And they are doing all that with an untested bloke for a manager. That isn't planning, that's taking a massive gamble!!!

Keeno, what about the frugal clough years, agree they are gambling now, surprised they haven't exceeded ffp with last years gamble.

In any case though you can't dispute their situation is better than ours at present.

Here's hoping it goes wrong for them!

Anyway off out to celebrate my 40th, a busy weekend what with Father's Day as well!

They will still be within ffp after this and the next season.
But I agree that they are gambling massively with a coach who hasn't managed at all nevermind in this league which is a very different ball game altogether.like iv said they have got to get those players playing together.

2star, many happy returns mate.
Uptheforest, if they remain a champ club, under th current regs there is not a chance they will come In under FFP. With the money spent already on the 5 players and the huge wages those players will be on. Add to that the best part of another 7 odd million on Ince and Bridcutt and we're going miles beyond what their turnover will be. As a champ club there are very very limited means of income.
Huge gamble all round, but no different I guess to what we have done in recent years.
The years of frugal under clough etc have no bearing on things. All a year on year performance based assessment.
