Would anyone know how I'd go about getting my son a trial for the Forest academy? Or any other at a push.
He's a good little goalkeeper playing at u9's.
All the coaches of other teams, congratulate him and tell me to get him in an academy now. But how??
He only plays for a little club, that majority of the scouts have never heard of. So no luck there.
Anyone's help would be greatly received!!

{Ed003's Note - If you can enroll him onto the many out of school/private courses they are reasonably priced but I advise not one where his mates go - my lad has come on fantastic away from his mates and where I live they have a goalkeeping course(my lad doesn't go to that) I'm sure a city the size of Nottingham will have one - The coaches at these courses let scouts know about good prospects,good luck.}

Just done a quick google and it looks like you can't get a trail by asking.you have to write in and hope them actually come and watch your kid play then they invite you to a trail.
This is the email address you have to write to
(email removed for obvious reasons)
The higher the level the more likely they are to attend so bare this in mind.you have to give you kids name and age playing position.obviously who he plays for and and where they play.you will also need to add a fixture list (with kick off times) to the email.confirm he's got a British passport.after just writing this iv noticed its on the official website.click club then trial procedure and it's all on there.not much hope but it's worth a try,just lay it on thick of how good you think he is.
Good luck

Cheers Ed, I'll give it a go.
Hopefully it'll be the forest academy that are interested, otherwise he's got a big decision to make.

{Ed003's Note - We rebuffed interest as we (me and the mrs) don't quite agree with young kids being swamped up, we believe they should just play for fun when young but I fully understand parents who do want it and all the best Trickie and good luck to the lad.}

They have a development squad on Mondays at Rushcliffe school in Edwalton, might be good to start there, or get in touch with clubs like Dunkirk, Vernon AFC, West Bridgford, they tend to scout these sides regular. Contact the YEL as well, they could help with contacts forrsale a trial.

It might be worth writing into (dare I say it) notts county.you will probably get more of a chance there but because of the close proximity there will more than likely be forest scouts there watching.
Send a your kids footballing cv (whatever that is,considering he's so young) to the academy manager (can't find his name) Notts County Football Club, Meadow Lane, Nottingham, NG2 3HJ.
You have to write in no emails.

Thanks for everyones help! I will try all avenues, I'm sure we'll be able to get something sorted hopefully before the new season starts.
That's the problem Jay28, August at the start of the new season, the clubs done nothing to arrange friendlies or attend tournaments. Whether he gets into an academy or not he needs to leave for more organised club/team.
He's playing in a team of strikers and 1 keeper and still only letting 2/3 goals in.
Never really wanted him to join an academy, I always wanted him to kick the ball around for fun but he's getting frustrated and wants to play against and with better players and the YEL won't let him play in the older teams.
He trains with 12/13year olds because he gets annoyed with no one taking the game as seriously as he does.
I'll also have a look at this development squad on Mondays at rushcliffe.
Thanks a lot, I'll update you all hopefully soon.
