Got a last minute reprieve from work to go to Fulham last night so i'm well qualified to tell you what happened. I know alot, myself included, get hung up on formations, but we started last night with the 451 that played so well second half at Derby. I can tell you Fulham started with the diamond, a formation they employed v Reading in the previous game so it SHOULD have been no surprise. A formation at which they are clearly well organised & if allowed to impose itself early enough would run straight through the middle of us. This went unopposed for fully 35 mins before we changed it at 3 -0. Too late.
When you consider we have gone a goal behind in 15 of the last 18 games, we must concede the preparation for games is not up to scratch, and with no legitamate organiser on the pitch, SP is on his own.
We must draw positives from a second half where once our shape was sorted, we dominated. We have certainly played better in the last 2 games & SP CAN recognise & solve in play.
I think extra help on the tactical preparation is where we should concentrate our efforts. don't think our current back up team have a clue.

I would agree with you cjay. But can't see pearce getting rid of wigley eastwick. But think he should.

I thought we would loose this game. It's the Millwall game which is the marker for the remainder of our season. If we cannot even get a draw then we will gradually slide down the table and finish in or around 18th spot.

SP needs some help with the tactical side of life love to know what his two current coaches do not a lot in my eyes.

Listened to radio nottingham commentary last night steve hodge saw the problem beforehand. Why did it take forest so long ? Think sp needs different help

Is there a law on use of radio?? We could hire hodge, get him to send reports to chippers who then tells pearce and co they change things in time and booom job done lol

Interesting reason Cjays post analysing the game so clearly and even Fulhams previous formations.
How did we get the set up so wrong? & why didn't anyone squeeze Ross Mc?
Don't know the answer to this but surely we have an analyst in our coaching staff? A sort of stato. The wolly has that youngster sat near enough on his lap with him 24/7 relaying stats all through the game on a laptop.

Maybe it's not about back-room staff - Wigley is responsible for a lot of the players who faced us last night - maybe we just don't yet have quite the right players in Midfield to do what is needed.
