Oliver burke has signed a new 3 yr deal

According to ssn website west brom, qpr, Huddersfield and wigan all keeping tabs in jack hunt. hope we manage to keep him as he has been very impressive imo.

brownie8989

1.) We should have signed him. Can't we agree deal now for when his loan ends.
Like Hobbs do it now before we get held to ransom again palace paid 2m. So it's going to take at least that but he's worth it.

2.) Totally agree, every time I have seen JH play I have been impressed. Seems he's not wanted at Palace as they have bought another RB. I say get in their first before we have the same situation as Hobbs.

3.) He's a class act. Belongs in the prem. If warnocks got any sense he'd keep hold of him. Hopefully a few mil will prise him away in January.

4.) Can imagine palace will want to keep him

5.) Ssn says former huddlesfield man not that huddlesfield are interested.

Jack hunt has already spoke about his desire to extend his stay beyond January and warnock will want some funds to make his mark on the team. I reckon if hunt wants to come to us then we will get him. No clubs like to keep players that want to leave. Hopefully pick him up for about 1. 5-1.8m. Better yet, extend his loan to summer as we want to see what league we are in next year before buying loads of players.

6.) If we wait till the summer and he continues playing so well, we run the risk of losing out to an even bigger club. Get him to sign on the dotted line asap. I hope he does want to stay with us because no doubt premiership clubs will be after him in Jan

Strange game today, we didn't play bad but switched off got caught out, mendes totally gone off the boil, mills needs to just stop appealing for everything and blaming people and get on with business. Wasnt impressed with Derby thought they were average aswell, draw would of been fair I think,

brownie8989

1.) 19 Mar 2016 14:49:33
Lichaj and Mendes were very poor indeed. But fact we didn't have a shot on target the whole games summed up why we didn't get anything out of the game. Macheda didn't get one proper cross to attack the whole hour he was on. We were clueless around the box. Only chances came from corners. Even so if Ward had hit his late volley properly!?

2.) 19 Mar 2016 14:54:53
Good first half then let it slip second. Twisty should have been on for Mendes much earlier and when we lost CC in midfield it went to pieces. Somehow we have to get Macheda fitter and bring him into the game more.

Just read the u21 and u18s reports, and i'm hoping we have offered a nice little contract to u18s striker Ben Brereton 20 goals in 17 games at any level is a good return and hopefully we have another one for the future slowly coming through.

brownie8989

1.) 08 Dec 2015 20:15:28
I agree Brereton is a " class act " for his age and experience! We need to get him signed up quickly because the likes of Chelsea will be " snogging around " soon! I still think we are not utilising what are a good bunch of lads coming through the ranks!

Qpr sack ramsey so maybe pearson will head there, would take away the only viable option if we were to replace df.

Still don't know what's best to do. yes results are not good. but its not like were not playing for df or even playing badly. we just simply cannot score and making poor choices around the opposition area doesn't help us.

brownie8989

1.) 04 Nov 2015 21:58:12
At least we can rule out Warnock.

2.) 04 Nov 2015 22:01:44
Pearson the only viable option? You must be joking! Any option better than Freedman. He is clueless and we are in free fall.

We will win Friday and that will delay the inevitable for a few more weeks.

3.) 04 Nov 2015 22:09:20
Results are not good! that's the understatement of the century. results are shocking.16 points from last 69.3 wins in 24!

03 Nov 2015 21:54:50
First game oliveria scored a great goal. we soon trained that out of him haha.

Yet again sat here wondering how we havnt scored in that game and how we haven't got somethin out of it.

Too slow to start with. from 15 mins in bossed the game but couldn't score, 2nd half they defended well. can we really blame df for the poor choices on the pitch in the final third? Would any manager do any better? Hard choices to be made.

brownie8989

1.) 03 Nov 2015 22:35:51
We can't blame df for what happens on the pitch in the final 3rd the players need to look at them self's and look for each other because it seems to me players like mendez wants to be a one man team had chances to pass the ball to other players who were in better goal scoring positions and decided to go alone he needs to realise it's a team game.

2.) 03 Nov 2015 22:43:24
When nobody else can score why not take it upon yourself to try a bit of magic. its not coming from anywhere else.
A striker need to be played on a regular basis with a partner or in a constant formation to get the best out of them. chopping and changing doenst help one bit.

Just seen the lansbury tackle. Is it just me or did he try jump out of it last minute which then made it look like an attempted stamp? Why duck out of a challenge one day he will do it n he won't get sent off he will get stretched off. what happened to just going in for a tackle for the ball? I used to get told i'd cause more damage pulling out of a tackle than going all in.

brownie8989

1.) 21 Oct 2015 23:26:48
I thought he was going to get the ball but mee slid in from a long way away which didn't give Lansbury time to put a slide in. lansbury could of easily of jumped over the top of him.

2.) 21 Oct 2015 23:28:50
That was my impression from the stands. He initially looked like he was going to slide in to it but then had second thoughts and pulled out of the tackle. I'm still adamant it wasn't a sending off. The ridiculous thing was that the clown that is Stuart atwell didn't even blow for a free kick initially.

He responded to the player rolling around screaming more than anything. To be so quick to send him off was just incredible given his reluctance to pull the same card out for a far more obvious sending off in the first half by Keane.

3.) 22 Oct 2015 00:34:51
What sending off was that? the handball about 30 yards out which didn't stop an obvious goal scoring opportunity as there was a player in line who would of got back?

4.) 22 Oct 2015 01:10:46
Athletes like Lansbury can jump out of the way of stuff like that. he slightly jump but came down hard which suggests it was a red. have you seen how high Lansbury can jump for headers? that's how high he could of jumped Tuesday. its a defo red and a good decision. if it was one of there's players doing that everyone would be saying it should of been a sending off.

5.) 22 Oct 2015 07:33:08
Uptheforest, you really are the irritant that has an opinion on absolutely everything and thinks they know better than anyone else don't u. U now know how high Lansbury can jump, how hard he came down and his requisite intent! You must be fun around the dinner table during a discussion!

6.) 22 Oct 2015 08:50:27
This is a forum where people put there opinions forward is it not? or am I mistaken. i don't know in cm's how high he can jump but iv seen him win headers so iv seen him jump. when you are running you can jump higher and further than when standing stil, Lansbury did neither. are you telling me that Lansbury can only him two ft high and three ft in length? when you jump in the air to avoid something that is coming your way do you but both feet down in the same position as the thing your are avoiding or do you spread your legs wider than the object your avoiding? instinct makes you spread them, his brain said otherwise.
Am I only allowed an opinion on certain subjects then? could you tell me which subjects these are please so I don't post on the wrong ones and upset what you when I'm being realistic?
How can I get in touch with one of the ed off these boards?

7.) 22 Oct 2015 09:45:12
You keep at it uptheforest, unless we have a debate there would be no Banter or Rumours. I wasn't there so can't comment on the jump or handball, but seems like losing HL for a game might give us a chance to play a different midfield and therefore a different team. PS I was always one of those who thought that the England team always looked and played better without Gerard and Rooney in it.

8.) 22 Oct 2015 10:37:00
Forest have a Chanel on youtube that you can watch all the highlights on, all you do is type nottingham forest in and you can watch highlights of all the games.
My opinion is he could of avoided landing on him if he really wanted to but if you watch it it's obvious he don't want to avoid it. there was also nothing wrong with mee's tackle as he slides In and near the end slightly pulls out. hey what do I know, it seems because I don't agree with what keeno says I can't have an opinion.
When do we here about the appeal for his red card keeno? that's says all you need to know about the stamp.

9.) 22 Oct 2015 11:08:04
Let me try and be constructive with u. Your opinion is just as valid as any and in Many comments u talk some sense. And different opinions is what make a good site. We agree on that. What gripes me about u is your constant need to reinforce your opinion by attempting to be obnoxious and patronising to others posts and the desire to impress your opinion as being correct by trying to belittle others posts with sarcasm etc. you're one of those people who would argue black was white or never concede u are wrong even when u know it to be the case. Your opinions I have no issue with.

10.) 22 Oct 2015 12:43:21
This is more interesting than the football!

11.) 22 Oct 2015 13:50:09
I've heard DF is concentrating on jumping in this weeks training sessions - I honestly think we will end up with a team full of jumpers, Df has found his vocation as he can get the whole team jumping together (predictive text wrote jumping so you can change the word for whatever you like) :)

12.) 22 Oct 2015 16:01:32
It's a shame he can't get us lot jumping for joy.
When I registered on here I must of missed the rules where it say you can't try and back what you think up not did I read you had to have a certain personality. if you don't like what I say or how I put things just don't read them.
I re read my post about you mentioning a burnley player should of been sent off, I didn't agree with what you put but maybe I could of put it better. Not going to do that as that's not me nor is it my personality but I could of.
Funny how you talk about patronising and you start your last post doing exactly that.

13.) 22 Oct 2015 16:18:08
2tone: we don't want to be confused with the WoollyJumpers down the road!
But may be we need some jump-leads for some of our Lads.
Keeno "Let me be constructive with you" - Headmasterspeak.
Seems like you and uptheforest need to meet for a handbag fight at dawn. No-one should take offence at anything said on here, it's just good fun. Some people can be right part of the time, part of the people can be right some of the time but all the people can't be all right all of the time - I think Abraham Lincoln said that. I'll let you be in my post if I can be in yours - I think I said that...

14.) 22 Oct 2015 16:59:58
Come on Keeno, what have you got to say, running scared?

15.) 22 Oct 2015 18:11:43
That's called irony uptheforest! I'm sure a clever lad like u knows what it means!

16.) 22 Oct 2015 18:13:51
So Devries and Lansbury ? That's two that can't jump!

17.) 22 Oct 2015 18:45:32
Come on you two, try not to get personal on here. the banter and the fact that you can read a post and either agree, disagree, laugh or cry makes the site what it is. We are all lucky enough to be fans of a great club but we can't always be right - the only person who was always right is no longer with us, the great BC 😊.

18.) 22 Oct 2015 19:55:38
Disagree 2Tone she is sitting opposite me 😁

19.) 23 Oct 2015 07:15:56
Was that sarcasm there keeno about me being a clever boy or just you being a little more patronising?
Anyway back on topic, when do we hear about the appeal for the red?

thought we bought him as one for the future? can see why we loaned him out as he got thrown in the deepend abit last season with injuries etc, the loan would of helped him develop and gain confidence i'd like to see him back at least for pre season n see what he may offer n then if df thinks no good then by all means sell.

To be fair only time someone had enough space to shoot from 22 yards out on sat was after mancienne had gone off and ebecelio followed the ball instead of being where mancienne would of been.. i think he been playin well there

I think it was a good call by df, we've seen many times if antonio isn't getting the better of his marker/markers then he hets frustrated and can disappear in a game for abit, we've all seen his fantastic runs going forward and he is a class player just needs to stop having so many breaks in between the moments. look at the cup game 15 mins up and down the pitch totally made the difference but in a 90 mins game he will play for 10 rest for 5 then go again lol, so if he wasnt going to be as committed in a match as lansbury is then i think it was a wise move, be sad to see him go but can't always try keep players that have their heads turned by offers elsewhere.

You can't replace mull of kintyre n the words ain't exactly hard to learn. mull of kintyre blasting out derby days is awesome imo it can't sound passionate with only 16000 fans.

Although sometimes he can make the odd mistake like any player does he looks leaner and fitter this year, maybe he is finally over the back injury and other niggles, very impressed this season with him
