Me and a friend talking today. Both lifelong Forest fans. Season ticket holders, regular away match attendees etc. Got talking about the nice and not so nice Forest players that we've encountered in person.
My friend had the best story for the biggest person. Rob Earshaw. He met him at a cash point. So my friend with his young son asked him for an autograph. Earnshaw replied that he doesn't sign autographs. My friend said well you've signed for the club surely you can sign an autograph for a fan. 'No i'm here to save the club. Not sign autographs' was Earnshaws reply! Tool haha!
The top bloke award goes to Alf Inge Haaland. I was only about 7 or 8 and he walked towards me and my dad on a quiet street in town. My dad told me he'd get me his autograph. Between us all we didn't have a pen. Alf even asked another passer by if they had one. He spoke to us for a while and then said to remember this address he told us. Saying write in with our contact details and he will make sure he sends us an autograph. Sure enough after writing in he replied with a signed Forest poster. Top bloke!
Other top guys i've met that had plenty of time for the fans. Des Walker, Mark Crossley, Jim Brennan, Marlon Harewood, Chris Cohen.

I was very lucky and got to meet the forest team in 1991 and I went upto psycho and asked for his autograph and he said he could do better than that and got the whole team together for a photo with me with them all. I also met marlon harewood shortly after he had scored a great goal against palace. I was very drunk and went on and on about how great it was and how I was gutted we missed out in playoffs yet he let me go on and on and was very respectful rather than just telling me to get lost as I would have done if roles were reversed.

Agree with all of the above but you forgot to mention Jason Lee who was great with the young fans and also Mark Crossley's mum and dad who attended most games with a carrier bag full of sweets for the kids. Brilliant

On the subject of 'bumping into' Forest players in the flesh. Many years ago I was going into a chemist shop in Kibworth Beauchamp (Leics) when I got jammed in the doorway by Peter Shilton coming out! He looked about ten feet high and filled the doorway. I got barged out of the way, but he did smile. No wonder he was such a great goalie, he must have nearly filled it.

Back in 88/89 season, I was unfortunate to be in hospital over Christmas. The whole squad came in to the children's ward. Couldn't do enough for us all, Sempt to be there for hours. Met the whole squad. I was then invited to a training session once fit and healthy again loved it!
On an individual basis, Steve Cotteral was a top bloke, we went to Brighton away just pre Christmas, 3/4 years ago. I waited with my daughter to get Camps signature. SC came out and said to my daughter you look freezing, he took our email address, got his secretary to email us and get our address and sent her a massive photo of him and signed and framed it.

Back in the 90s my brother who is not Forest fan was doing some work in a guys house after a while the guy asked my brother how long he was going to be.My brother said a couple of hours they then said he was going to a really big England game that night and could my brother work as fast as he could to finish. My brother said yeah sure and asked the guy how he had managed to get a ticket for the game as they were like gold dust the guy said my son plays for England when my brother asked who is son is the guy replied his son is Stuart Pearce .My brother told the guy that his brother (me)is a huge Forest fan and could he ask SP for his autograph he took my brother into another room and showed him all the the major shirts and honnors SP had won and sure enough a week later a signed photo of Sp was posted through my front door.

My lad (then 8) and I were in the car park at the ground. He spotted Pearce and Cooper walking past and wanted their autographs, but was very shy and darent ask. I talked him into it and said " just be polite". He ran after them shouting" Mr Pearce, Mr Cooper". Psycho stopped and smiled at him. He said " no, I'm psycho and this is Coops. You needn't call us mister". They both spent some time talking to my son and signed his autograph book. He was made up for weeks.
