The more I look at the squad set up, and the info that we are aiming for 6 centre backs including the new guy from QPR then I have to conclude we will be playing 3 at the back with wing backs next season. Just need one more on the left to aid Osbourne and Darikwa and Cash wing backs on the right.
WHAT DO YOU THINK?

chugsy

1.) 03 Jul 2018 13:00:15
I think it is likely and Robinson can play Left Wingback so wouldnโ€™t need another really.

2.) 04 Jul 2018 22:00:48
I think we will go 4231 and possibly switch to a 352 if we struggle to get a grip of the game or depending on opposition formation

Programme sales will be up on Saturday because if your like me you will need one to identify all the players!

Save your money Chugsy and use the sky sports app ๐Ÿ‘

2.) 08 Feb 2018 21:49:23
Have you not heard, we have taken pity on the women that paraded the Darts players to the hockey, they will be parading all our new players with a board stating their names before each game starts for the rest of the season. You can sponsor the girls aswell as the players now. ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜.

It's official Forest now have more talent on their books than Hooters!

What can possibly go wrong?

Both Watson and Guadeora have had contracts ended so both can sign tomorrow.

chugsy

1.) 01 Feb 2018 00:18:54
Geddy already signed.

I think the game v Sheffield Wed would suit McKay's attacking one touch style perfectly
especially with Hunt missing.
Its the game to bring him back in to the side.

chugsy

1.) 24 Dec 2017 19:13:25
Don't worry about McKay he's class.
He's just adapting to the physical challenge of the championship and fitness levels required as is Cummings.
He's top of the assist league in the championship as well as scoring a few, amazing stats really when he's hardly finished a single game.
The kid is a good player just needs to improve his fitness levels.

After reading on here the comparison of styles between England and Forest who else believes that Football Coaches are ruining the game and taking away our national style, in particular the British type of play.
When play our 442 style properly at pace its hard to beat.
What do people think?

chugsy

1.) 08 Oct 2017 20:33:48
Only thing you can say is that since 1966 we've won nothing playing mainly 442. Don't think the game has been ruined, you have to adapt to rule changes as well.
If you go back we had one sub,you could pass the ball back to goalkeeper and pick.it up,
You could tackle from behind.
Offside was easy to execute.
Game has changed a lot.

2.) 09 Oct 2017 07:21:23
Not ruined but we shouldn't try and replicate continental football, we just don't have the players to pull it off. Crouch up front, long ball, that's what I say.

3.) 09 Oct 2017 18:00:48
Football is an ever evolving sport both in rulesets and tactics. Gone are the days of long balls and lumping as players can generally read those balls and defend against them easily. Nowadays you switch the ball quickly or you play patiently and try to drag the opposition out of position.

The current meta Tactic is 343, which players are now playing at club level, so it makes sense to mirror that in the international scene too. Before that it was 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3. The pace and and style of the games have been influenced by the M word, where the more attractive footballing teams and technical players are dragging the game to being less of the typical English game and more towards the South American and Spanish style of play. Personally I think the old style of play with more direct passing and getting the ball out wide to a winger or up to an ogre in attack, can still work at club level when you can coach the players day in and day out, but international football needs the players to be comfortable with what they know and how they play.

4.) 09 Oct 2017 22:05:54
Wales 0 v Ireland 1 Winning at its best by the Sourcer's Apprentice and his Rotweiller!

Football has not changed its just about getting the best out of your resources and playing winning football?

5.) 10 Oct 2017 20:46:16
I saw the comparison between Wales and Forest for the goal last night. Taking unnecessary risks at the back.

Lets hope that the post advertised for the U/23 manager has an application from the recently departed Chesterfield manager applying.
Come back Jack Lester.

11 Apr 2018 14:36:01
A lot has been said about last nights game and indeed the last 14 or so matches.
My point is this, I just don't like the football we are being served up.

chugsy

1.) 11 Apr 2018 14:57:45
Haven't liked the football served up since Billy left wat with In ger land being about as interesting as watching paint dry being a footy fan is just dismal and I'd rather watch bowls or golf.

2.) 11 Apr 2018 15:47:58
Yes let's get a paranoid Scotsman back. "OH" i forgot he got us to 2 play-offs ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€

3.) 11 Apr 2018 15:54:35
Nothing to do wit BD, he is history. I'm talking about the footy I've been watching since Xmas. It has been dull!!

4.) 11 Apr 2018 16:39:53
15 points out of 51 ,what,s to like ?
CARLO

5.) 11 Apr 2018 19:00:11
I'm afraid it's all boring football at the moment chugsy, keep it in your half and try to work it forward, gone are the days of the swift winger and the well placed cross, we can't even put a decent corner in, so yes chugsy you are right ๐Ÿ˜

6.) 11 Apr 2018 20:14:15
No point in putting crosses in the box, we've nobody capable of winning a header.๐Ÿ˜

7.) 11 Apr 2018 20:17:59
Agree we won't see a team like we had when stone and Ian put in on a sixpence woan pinged in the crosses forc6he reds. Trying not to be negative and next season isn't even here yet but I just get the feeling of another dross season. Hope I'm wrong but it's not been a barrel of larfs for us a nigh on twenty years barring a couple of near misses to the promised land

8.) 11 Apr 2018 20:57:37
Yes but Carlos we went on a 7 game unbeaten run and most of the players are mw players it's mw's fault and karanka hasn't had a lot of time or money he needs a proper transfer window poor bloke

9.) 11 Apr 2018 21:00:48
Better get used to the style of football while he's in charge.
Karanka sets his teams up not to lose first and foremost so it will never be edge of the seat stuff.
Warburton sets his teams up to keep possession. The fact they can neither score nor defend is irrelevant ๐Ÿ˜‚.

10.) 11 Apr 2018 21:28:56
Great one skeggs ๐Ÿ˜ˆโ˜

11.) 11 Apr 2018 22:19:15
Bang on Red Fred. Interestingly that style got Boro to a playoff final then a runner up spot season after.Think I'll give the bloke a chance.

12.) 11 Apr 2018 22:58:39
Think you might need to read that one again perks???

13.) 11 Apr 2018 23:47:00
No I definitely read it right. And his Boro side generally only won by the odd goal which wouldn't be good enough for you 79. You don't like his playing style and you never will. You will always find a negative as long as he is in charge.
In fact its Skeg/Freedman scenario all over again ๐Ÿ˜ด

14.) 12 Apr 2018 09:59:57
Your right perks and I was right about freedman not sure 100% on karanka yet but not only his the football boring he can't win he can't get players to score or defend and from what we've seen at forest that's a fact I don't care what he done at Middlesbrough do it here and prove the doubters wrong

15.) 12 Apr 2018 13:46:51
If you look at our attacking options what chance do we have of scoring? An 18 year old that is suffering a confidence crisis. A 34 year old, who was well past it when we signed him, and only had one good season goal wise in his whole career. Finally we have another who was scoring pre season but then was just dropped for months, and his form went. And the other 2 got sent out in loan. Bob Hope or no hope anyone!

16.) 12 Apr 2018 22:58:55
You think you were right about Freedman Skeg but I and many others disagree pal.

17.) 12 Apr 2018 23:45:26
Have a look on the other post page perks and see the figs?

15 Mar 2018 08:56:58
Am I alone in thinking that our interest in bringing Dawson back to the club is a big mistake.

chugsy

1.) 15 Mar 2018 09:58:12
Things change with time. We now seem to have three good central defenders in Figuerido, Worrall and Fox, but consider this: we could sell Worrall and Mancienne and have Dawson as back up or part of rotation, and Coveney will soon be ready from the U23s. We know that Cohen and Vaughan are going, and if Traore goes too that would free up space and wages, and we might be able to buy in more good players. AK should not be afraid to sell, and is looking for a squad of 21-22. In my mind anything is possible, and I'd trust him to get it right. Maybe we should buy Pants, Figuerido and Tomlin as a starting point, but let's face it we haven't had a manager who has spotted who and what we need until AK came along. The crucial player it seems is Colback - I reckon we could afford to buy, but getting round the wages issue seems to be THE issue.

2.) 15 Mar 2018 10:35:10
Whilst I agree that Colback has done ok I don't think he's worth upsetting our wage structure for. We needed to steady the ship and a midfield of Colback and Watson have done that But if we want to progress next season we'll need a more creative midfield. Watson is a given to start most games so I think a more creative or box to box midfielder might be needed. Tomlin, Fig and probably Pants I would try and sign.

3.) 15 Mar 2018 10:50:07
I like the idea of Dawson but also imagine his wages wouldnโ€™t be small and he is getting on now. I think AK May have another look at a few players before end of season as we have nothing really to play for now and then sit down with all players in summer to decide several futures, if players like Worrall or Manchienne or Lichij want to move on I can see him cashing in and looking at new faces but if they donโ€™t and he feels they have done ok now squad confidence is better then he might not invest much in the defence. Whatever happens I think AK knows what he is doing especially when it comes to defending!

4.) 15 Mar 2018 11:52:37
Here's the list he'll try and move on in the summer.
Smith
Eric
Traore
Hobbs
Manciene
Cohen retired
Vaughan
Ward
Bridcutt
Boukalakis
Vellios
Walker
Cummings
Clough
Murphy
McKay
Aribyi
Grant
Lacovitti
Evtimov
Lamm
Fuentes
Dejagah.
All these will be given the chance to leave 23 players plus colback and Dowell going back to their clubs.
So there will be a lot of signings all over the park.
He's made it clear who he rates and it's non of those above,be interesting to see how many he can shift, that will decide who comes in and how many.

5.) 15 Mar 2018 14:13:50
I am of an age where the maxim " never go back " is often used rightly or wrongly
Things are very rarely the same and usually have a tendency not to work out.

6.) 16 Mar 2018 15:08:34
Geddy is not exactly setting the pitch on fire.

24 Feb 2018 18:54:26
Our Chairman put in an appearance today at Loftus Road to see the boys win 5-2.

chugsy

1.) 24 Feb 2018 19:10:33
Hopefully he was impressed enough to get his cheque book out, and signs up these loan players permanently.

2.) 24 Feb 2018 20:52:59
Heโ€™s probably eyeing up the โ˜๏ธFor the Olympiakos future managers job ๐Ÿ˜€

3.) 24 Feb 2018 21:11:05
Well I bet heโ€™s not offered to share his tea with him!

4.) 25 Feb 2018 08:59:04
The chairman is always at games. The owner, on the other hand, is not always there. But he was today.

17 Feb 2018 14:08:45
Darikwa and Fox, strewth Cloughie must be laughing.

chugsy

1.) 17 Feb 2018 14:26:08
No defenders on the bench either. Must be going for all out attack?

No chance of a clean sheet today so balls over the top to Brereton

I'm going for a 4-2 Forest win

2.) 17 Feb 2018 14:35:08
To be fair, fox has always done well when coming in at CB and has played his best football there.

3.) 17 Feb 2018 14:42:36
How in gods name does Darwika get a game we are in for a long afternoon ๐Ÿ˜•โš“

4.) 17 Feb 2018 14:54:30
Darikwa canโ€™t defend!!! Fox is a liability,this wonโ€™t end wellโ˜น๏ธ

5.) 17 Feb 2018 15:24:28

For most of the time Ben's nearest link to other players is the 4 or 5 opposition defenders, with no sign of support from his own midfield. He has battled well for someone so young
