I know the Birmingham game is done and we all move on but that penalty!! Who needs goal line technology when we have a !!
We have all seen obvious goals not given in the past when the ball clearly goes over the line and other such decisions. The Ref makes the decision and it's done with.
Anyway, congrats to SP for his comments on the penalty and his honesty.

Definite penalty, no questions regarding the eventual decision, however, who here thinks that if that sort of situation had gone against a team managed by Morinho, Wenger etc, or god forbid Fergy, they would have been debating it for weeks. Possibly ended with the ref's head on a spike in the Bridge car park. Any thoughts lads and lassies?
Fair play to Pearce for being honest and open about the decision, would any of the above have been so honest?
Move on now it's history, just get revenge on the 28th.

Yes, it was a penalty. However there are many many decisions every game that referees get wrong. Are we going to start changing everything if the forth official has a different view.
The whole thing is an absolute disgrace and the FA should look into the circumstances of how it came about. There is absolutely no way the forth official saw that from the dugouts in a way that he would be absolutely positive to give a penalty and convince the ref to change his mind. Is there any suggestion whatsoever he was shown a tv replay or anything by the dug out??
The referee completely lost it and his initial decision should have stood. An Absolute circus

They will feel no need to look at it as the decision was right. that's the sad thing about it. britt shouldn't of been sent off as the ball was heading wide or at the best straight at a defender. there's a very good replay on u tube if you type in Birmingham v forest highlights and click the blues tv one. clearly shows the ball isn't going in the net therefore it's a yellow card.

4.) 01 Dec 2014
Have we appealed against the red card then?

5.) 01 Dec 2014
Yep I agree the decision was right but how he made it could have been very very wrong if made via a tv replay!! Surely that should be looked at???

6.) 01 Dec 2014
Given that Rowett and SP both saw it and along with the are approx 50 yards away from the incident i have no reason to doubt that Mr Smith who incidentally has a penchant for root vegetables (especially the carrott variety) going some way to explain his 20/20 vision did see it.

(My initial post should have read:"Who needs goal line technology when we have a !!")
Exactly my point Keeno (on your comment #2) The Ref's initial decision should have stood firm! I agree with goal line technology and if this device was in play and used that is fine, but I am not sure it was. Please correct me if it was used.

Acan, i think there is a problem with the auto edit when spelling 4th official lol! It blocked mine too.

9.) 01 Dec 2014
LOL, thanks Red Fred. I see a way around this block now.
I thought it might have been the FA or FIFA blocking words!!. lol.

10.) 01 Dec 2014
Pearce and rowett said it LOOKED like a handball. looked like and defiantly are completely different.

11.) 01 Dec 2014
Ok then, if Rowett and Sp said it LOOKED like and Mr Smith said it WAS then logic dictates it WAS!

12.) 02 Dec 2014
Anyway, the ferocity of Rowett's protestations tell you he SAW it and the fact that Mr Smith's front teeth were still intact immediately after the incident tells you SP definately SAW it!

The ref and Lino in the man city game didn't think it was a penalty when aguero was chopped down, does that mean that it wasn't a penalty?just because they didn't think it looked like one?
My personal opinion is he must of seen a replay to be able to tell the ref 100% it was a penalty. he has to be 100% to be able to give it, two other people said it looked like which wouldn't be 100% so you couldn't give it.
mind you if you added up 3 90% that would be 270% so he was more than 100% confident.

Replays are not in use in our leagues so if he used video then it should not have been Think if it would of been any other team them the corner would of stood
