Players have not be paid their wages for May as yet

gaz2992

{Ed034's Note - because of a Kuwait bank holiday. It'll go through tomorrow. No problem

1.) Some people just can't wait to jump on the negative bandwagon.

2.) I bet they are going out of their minds, must be awful being down to your last £100,000, how will they afford to feed the family and pay the mortgage, let's get real eh?

3.) Pk-I've no idea if this is a story or not but what I do know is that nobody is happy if you're not paid what you are due when its due-it doesn't matter if its £100 or £100000 or a day or a week late? I do suspect the story is nonsense and the players were aware of any delay in payments.

4.) Ed
How the hell do things like this get out?
It can only come from a player if true, or someone making up nonsense.

{Ed034's Note - it's true but if it was any other club, it wouldn't have been reported like it has been

5.) Ed
How do you know it's true? Your own contacts?

{Ed034's Note - I know that ssn wouldn't allow a reporter to run with it if it wasn't true and also if it wasn't true, it would have been either taken down or more added to the story.

6.) Did they not know that there was a bank holiday in Kuwait. Or did Kuwait just decide on Friday to have a bank holiday this weekend?

This is why we need a CEO like yesterday, we really are not looking like a professional outfit!

7.) It does look like a good team, though I think Lascelles is now ahead of Wilson. Also, if Jamaal commands a big price when he leaves, you want to keep him developing as it will only increase his price. Also, I don't think we should think in terms of "first choice" team anymore. In this 21st century, success is about the squad, not the potentially best team we can put out as that will change from week to week depending on injuries and form. I think the squad is too light and whilst we know that Forest need someone to put the ball in the back of the net, we also need someone to do the ugly work in defensive midfield. I'd love to see Gardner from Sunderland in that position. I just don't see Vaughan there and we cannot expect Lansbury to play there when he's so dangerous going forward.

But these are things for SP to worry about.

8.) 2tone- I'm not having a go, but honestly footballers are well paid and obviously can't live week to week like some people, it's about perspective, the people who follow the club are probably just like me, honest hard working people, I understand what you say about not being paid, anyone would be annoyed but I don't think it would have the impact on a footballer like it would if you worked in a factory. I've heard so many stories about Forest being ran in a dodgy way, I don't believe a word of it, Fawaz passed the proper person test with the FA, so can't understand where it comes from.

9.) Pk - I do agree with what your saying but we are all funny when it comes down to money being owed whether its through wages, bets or whatever. the actual amount isn't really relevant its more of an honour/pride situation- i'd be as upset if somebody didn't pay me £1 that I was owed as I would if it was £100, its the principle more than the figure involved. I know what your saying about the impact of wages being a few days late for the majority of us compared to a footballer though.

10.) The Kuwait Bank holiday was 27th May so is it down to the Chairman's bic biro running out of ink writing cheques?1

Hi Ed
Just want to say we have the best owner and chairman of any club However we do need a CEO or someone with knowledge of negotiating transfers and player contracts Then Fawaz could announce new signings in twitter Can not stand the amount of abuse being directed at Fawaz and that would hopeful stop it Looking good for at least two players being signed and that to me would be a good January window

gaz2992

1.) We have signed lots of players without a CEO and also renewed contracts, can't see it as a priorty myself

2.) True, we have signed a lot of players but if rumours are true we have also been close to signing others and missed out on a few, I know there's lots of reasons for deals falling through (offers from prem, silly wage requests, silly wage offers by others etc. ) but an experienced CEO would be great and move us further towards our ultimate aim of being an established prem club. Fawaz has been fantastic but is working in an unknown/new area and is still learning, can you imagine what we could do with a good ceo working alongside him.

3.) I think if Mr Fawaz is happy sorting out the deals then its better than having an extra layer in the decision making process. It just slows things down. There are only two peoples opinions that matter Mr Fawaz and Billy. I think Mr Fawar is an acomplished buisness man who knows his way around business deals and as long as he has the time then all's good!

4.) Footballs not like any other business though.

5.) He does have some football experience and i'm sure he's intelligent enough to pick it up he's no mug. just be careful what you wish for is all i'm saying, often the most effectivie things are the simplest!

6.) Imo experience is more relevant than intelligence in football, if it was just down to intelligence or business acumen he would not have got involved in a football club. Who intheir right mind would? i'm really grateful to fawaz but I think he needs some experience alongside him, can you imagine what fawaz faces everyday of the week, its unbelievable and the mans immense for what he's taken on.

7.) Are you saying fawaz is not in his right mind? just like the others then.

8.) No fawaz is different because he has a long history of being a fan, in lots of ways that is a fantastic thing but it can also complicate things or influence decisions-hence why I think he needs either an old head alongside him or an experienced ceo.

Great game yesterday and a class performance by the whole team Paterson is fast becoming one of our best players and causes all sorts of problems with his mazy runs and defenders found it hard to cope with him The performance and football was some of the best this season For once we had a referee that was mostly on our side and gave us two penalties of which the first was soft but how many have we denied on other occasions The score could of bee 6 or 7 if it was not for their keeper and better finishing

In all honesty can not see us signing anyone other than Hobbs and Vaughen We are far to slow to do business and other clubs are quick off the mark Will be surprise also not to see someone being sold that fans won't like

gaz2992

1.) Ed can you start up a rant page for all the doom mongers on here to doom it all out together? They're starting to sound like a stuck record, "I don't think well sign anyone were too slow" it's getting silly, they have got no basis or evidence of any such dealings under fawaz' leadership to think even think this. We could have spent about 8 mil last window had it not had been for clubs over pricing players.

{Ed034's Note - wouldn't be the same banter page without the doom and gloom merchants

2.) The longer it takes to sign the striker we need the more likely it is this will happen. We have signed Reid+Hobbs up, great work there but a striker is what we need and it needs to be sorted. Can not see Fawaz shelling out for the likes of Rhodes without selling someone to try balance the books.

This is a massive kick in the teeth for fans, we have been sold down the river by lies and promises made by the owner. Can only see this going one way and it is not going to be a good way. SP is as honest as they come and is having the rug pulled from under his feet

Transfer embargo due to FFP but can still buy if we sell on one in one out basis

gaz2992

{Ed003's Note - It's also worth noting any changes to current rules wont happen for a year or maybe two - The Premier League want the Championship to basically have the same FFP rules as them and are prepared to change 'the voluntary payments' to the Football League to a contracted obligation and by all accounts this could make the deal happen.}

Fawaz has said FFP is sorted and money from Kuwait will cover any shortfalls
