I see the debate on safe seating at football grounds has been raised again. Can I just say that, and I'm sure the other 20000+ forest fans who was at hillsborough will agree, this must never be allowed to happened.

{Ed034's Note - if it is done with the foldaway seats and your ticket still gives you the same spot to stand/sit, I think it'll be a good idea.

Got to agree Ed - so many factors contributed to that awful day at Hillsborough, if they can all be dealt with and removed, safe standing would be great in certain areas.

I'm still going to take some convincing but I'm sure it's an issue that will continue to cause much debate.

Safe standing can be accommodated in the majority of top class stadiums and we need to move on and not be over regulated by the H&S police!

Leppings Lane always was and is still an accident waiting to happen even with seating as the narrow exits still crush you in a rush

I agree with forever red. I was there as an 8 year old.
Hillsbourgh was a disaster waiting to happen......

{Ed034's Note - sorry trickie and thank you for your post, but I don't think this is the place for a debate one go was at fault and who wasn't.

Fair enough. Maybe a little opinionated about the matter.
But I bet all 92 families would disagree with the idea of it!

Hi Ed. I must apologise if this post has been twisted to a different agenda. My only intention was to raise the debate on safe standing with the possible upgrade of the CG in mind when we gain promotion. Maybe a larger main stand with safe standing in lower trent end. What would other reds like to see

{Ed034's Note - I know mate and honestly, you do not need to apologise.
I have not added a few because I don't want an argument about who's to blame. This isn't the place for that and I thought your op was a good one to start a debate

Safe-ttanding is in operation in German football and it's incredible. Adds to the match-day experience and the overall atmosphere. I'm going to see Dortmund later this year and I can't wait.

It's a must for the English game and I'm all for it.

Times have changed. I first started going to Forest as a kid (a very small kid who didn't reach 6ft until 16) and would go home with my face looking like a waffle because I was crushed against the fence everytime we scored with the crowd pushing forward.
We don't have fences anymore and I can't see the problem starting again. I like to stand!

I don't think sitting is so bad, plus if the odd few want to stay seated, how would they see with people standing in front of them, I like sitting on the edge of my seat and waiting for that special moment to jump up and cheer, makes it more exciting for me

As the OP on this thread can I just add that in my younger years following the greatest football team in the world home and away standing up at a match was good fun when away trips to the Cuckoo Lane Terrace at Oxford or a foggy Tuesday in Grimsby. Standing shoulder to shoulder with BCs Red n White Army. But now I'm older and playing "red side white side" in the Trent End has lost some appeal LOL. Must be my age and creaking knees. Hey Fawaz never mind standing can we have seats with extra leg room for us 6ft + fans.
