Bird site and newspapers stating that Barton had a lengthy chat with Fawaz, possible to sign him as a player/coach, this is what Barton wants, if so it's good because we can then pay him more than the allowed amount under the embargo as a player, which according to papers is maximum 600k a year, which suits both player and club.

{Ed001's Note - Barton has been speaking to Bein Sports and said he was holding out for a Prem move before he would consider taking a Championship team.}

Well he only has a week left to see who comes in!
As all the newly promoted and last years strugglers are doing OK then unless he goes to Blunderland he should be our man?

We have Lansbury, Vaughan, Ebecilio, Osborn, Grant and possibly Mancienne to play central midfield. With Cohen back maybe. Do we need Barton as well?

Barton. To me would be what we need , reminds me of how we used to sign the bad boys to do a job if we can give the defense cover in front it would be a great step forward

He is a free agent so he can choose who and when he wants to sign for a club

He will not want to let his fitness lapse and he says he wants it sorting. So how many clubs are going to offer him a player coach role?
My bet is that it is lined up unless a Premier club come in.

I'd love Barton, but Vaughan has been immense this season. I'd have Barton as a sub, to see out games when we have the second half wobbles. And steel and organise in the final third of a match.

Obviously I'm the only one who thinks Barton would be a disaster area for the club, both on and off the field. We don't need him at all in my view and anyway he's too old now and wouldn't come for the low wages.
