Just heard from somebody who is well in down the city ground and he is 99% certain landsbury is on his way to Burnley

1.) 05 Aug 2014
Major loss if he does go

2.) 05 Aug 2014
Anything less than 8m would be poor business. sorry the team IS going backwards on quality Owner has seriously undermined the manager. obviously owner doesn't understand about morale etc very disappointing. I was excited for new season. now like many I am truely depressed.

3.) 05 Aug 2014
it is being said that Forest are to "stand firm on Lansbury".

If Lansbury is to be sold, it won't be on the cheap and will be with all parties in agreement.

Have to cash in if a silly money offer comes in, £5m, no. £6/7m, have to give it some real consideration.

Lightning doesn't strike twice.

does it?

4.) 05 Aug 2014
Burnley are going to get some big losses next season. don't understand this move at all

{Ed034's Note - everyone said palace would go down, but they havnt. not fair on burnley and a tad disrespectful

5.) 05 Aug 2014
Ed - any truth in this? Or is this more speculation because of what happened yesterday

{Ed034's Note - ive asked and it is not what I have been told

6.) 05 Aug 2014
Lansbury is a talent yes but he also spends a lot of the time suspended or injured. £5/6 million if true which I doubt would be a very good fee for him. Players move the last few days before the season start regularly so it's not just us it is happening to.

Landsbury can go wherever he likes, as long as we keep hold of Lansbury that's all I'm concerned about

8.) 05 Aug 2014
I'm just getting over losing jl kd I think if we lose lansbury probably our best player last season that we will be going backwards if we are looking to get into premiership surely it would make sense to hold on to our best players surely I know it's a big if but we got to premiership next season these players money would double what we can sell them for now and then we could sell or have choice to hang on to them I'm waiting like most fans to see what fawaz as to say before I judge I just hope it's going to be good so looking forward to this season under Stuart Pearce

9.) 05 Aug 2014
Resigned myself to Lansbury going, he won't be here come the end of this transfer window.

10.) 05 Aug 2014
Not saying they're going down. you've seen Lansbury ed'. he thrives on winning. and can throw his dummy out like most when things ain't going right. the other thing he likes the south. that's why it does not add up. disrespectful ed'. not me

{Ed034's Note - you are saying burnely will lose a lot, there for are likely to go down. too many comments on here, not just this, that are saying 'why go to burnely' or words to that affect they are above us, that's why he would go there. one good season in the prem with them and he is set for a career inside the premier league.
It wasn't me having a go at you, it just happened to be your post which I put this comment on

11.) 05 Aug 2014
If he goes he goes. We will get the lad from Chelsea on loan to replace him.
Vaughn can play in that role to

12.) 05 Aug 2014
I'm sorry but if it's true that lansbury ends up going then it really does show lack of ambition! He is under contract and we don't have to sell if we don't want to! there's no excuses. FTID

{Ed034's Note - and if Lansbury says he wants out?? Then what??

13.) 05 Aug 2014
If he goes then so be it. He isn't our best player any way. Reid is by far out best player. Lansbury in the last year of his contract so 4 million seems like a good offer if ya ask me. Too many doom bringers support forest

14.) 05 Aug 2014
We keep him for another season then see where we're at! He is under contract! FTID

15.) 05 Aug 2014
We have to take a similar stance with lansbury with how sunderland have with wickham. Either sign a new deal or be sold. We cannot let a 5 million pound player go into the last 6 months of his contract, no matter how good he is. Offer him a good deal with big rises if he gains us promotion

16.) 05 Aug 2014
Lansbury has 2 years left of current deal (contract expires May 2016)

17.) 05 Aug 2014
So your happy for our better players to go? you must also be happy that we remain in the championship then.

{Ed034's Note - didn't answer my question I see and have instead come back with a rather silly question

18.) 05 Aug 2014
If we get good money and if we re-invest it wisely it wouldn't be the end of the world. He is a quality player but if you look back over his entire career he has had injury problems. I don't see this getting better with age. We missed Reid more when he was out last season. The real kicker is when we sell quality and don't replace them.

19.) 05 Aug 2014
Don't think he will leave. I think its just a follow on from yesterdays news.

I wouldn't leave for Burnley in current situation.

{Ed034's Note - which current situation is that??

20.) 05 Aug 2014
If he under contract then we don't have to sell, regardless if he wants to go! that's what contracts are for aren't they, or am I mistaken? FTID

{Ed034's Note - so you would have a player who has said 'I do not want to play for the club anymore and want out' within the squad?? a player who thrives on confidence and is known for losing his head during games??
If a player comes and is adamant he wants to leave, then I would sell.
Obviously I would sit down and see if the problem can be resolved, but if he wants out, I would rather have players who want to play for us wearing the shirt.

21.) 05 Aug 2014
Whether Burnley struggle and go down or not, if Lansbury has a decent season other Prem sides will come calling next May. He'll also have a full-season in the top flight under his belt and be a better, more experienced player for it.

Tradition and loyalty mean nothing in football anymore. Doesn't matter if it's Burnley or Man United, the top players want to play at the top level to prove themselves and further their careers.

You could even say he's better off playing 30+ games at Burnley than joining a top 10 side and only featuring in half the games.

22.) 05 Aug 2014
Current Situation = With the squad Burnley have now (Or with Lansbury in) they would still be one of the three teams coming down in my opinion and if Lansbury stays with us, I believe we can finish top two.

Therefore Burnley go down and we go up.

I know Palace stayed up last season but miracles are hard to come by and I think Burnley will get relegated (Great manager thou so you never know).

Ed - do you think we will sell Lansbury?

Ive said in previous posts, Lacelles is the one I would have sold. Darlow & Lansbury we need to keep.

{Ed034's Note - again that is just your opinion. Lansbury can l;ook at it and think 'I'm going to get a regular start in the premier league for one season. If I can show everyone what I am all about, I can then get a move to a top half club'.
Yes I do

23.) 05 Aug 2014
Totally understand that, and in reality I do agree! But we havnt got a replacement so until we do I'd keep him unless there is somebody who is as good ready to replace him! Ans also is it any different to laschelles and darlow staying with us even though there going to be Newcastle players after this season? FTID

{Ed034's Note - easy enough to bring in a replacement, whether full time or on loan.
Yes it is hugely different. these two have got a move to the prem sorted and will see this season as one to prove to Newcastle they are right to signed them. they will be relaxed as there future is sorted out

24.) 05 Aug 2014
Ed, I see your point but you don't definitely have to sell, you should judge each case and the individual on their merits/character. Some guys will sulk at being told to stay and not perform others will get on with things and perform just as well. Look at Suarez he wanted out before last season was forced to stay and had one of his best seasons ever and arguably Liverpool got a lot more for him in the long run plus had their best season in recent years.

{Ed034's Note - yes I agree and I think Lansbury will do just that.

25.) 05 Aug 2014
Agree with Steve, Exhibit A. Jordan Mutch.

26.) 05 Aug 2014
It's easy to bring a replacement in but not so easy to get a quality replacement though! Let's just hope he stays and gets a new contract and tht we bring in quality reinforcements!
Ed do you know any players were after other then holt? FTID

{Ed034's Note - Antonio from shef weds.
at the end of the day, we signed Lansbury in the first place, so why cant we sign another??

27.) 05 Aug 2014
Why sell a proven, influential player in order to take a risk on trying to fit one or two new recruits who you hope will do a similar job? I know that's not the whole story but the kind of players we're likely to attract will all carry that element of risk. A bird in the hand and all that.

{Ed034's Note - like you say, it is not the whole story

28.) 05 Aug 2014
Hopefully yes!

29.) 05 Aug 2014
I'd take the money they're offering. after 2/3 seasons with us, we're going to get £5m+ for him, it's not a bad deal considering we only paid £1m, as somebody mentioned earlier we signed him, so why not sign another. I agree we don't have a replacement for him yet, but he's injured currently anyway, so we still have plenty of time to find a replacement. It is also dismantling a team, but we have decent players who can play in that role too. In the space of 72 hours forest have made £12m+ for 3 players, all future stars, but not irreplaceable. I would of only picked one to start on satursay (injury to Lansbury aside obviously)

30.) 05 Aug 2014
If he has a good season in the prem his price tag will go up, English players prices are shockingly over the top. , he still would't get a top club move, too much money where a simlar european player will cost half as much. It may be loans from then on to make up numbers for home grown players in squad. its not a good move and I know Stuart Pearce will not want to let him go unless he has a replacement sorted.

31.) 05 Aug 2014
If forest end up selling darlow, Lascelles and Lansbury all in one window the club really need to look at themselves and we need to question the ambition. Lansbury would be the final straw for me. Teams don't get promoted by selling there best players. Look at Leicester they kept a squad together for three years before going up. We just seemed to get messed about, promises need delivering.

{Ed034's Note - read the statement. we need to work within ffp and tough decision need making.
Leicester spent a fortune before this ffp rule came in and there for did not need to spend last summer.

32.) 05 Aug 2014
Why would anyone think burnley are definitely going to come back down? i'm backing Ings to be one of the top goal scorers this season

33.) 05 Aug 2014
Posted the above before I read the statement. Read it and appreciate what Fawaz is saying, it does seem to clash with SP version so let's hope they can work that one out. Also if Lansbury has been offered a new deal and does not want to stay then it would be better for him to leave. These details about contract offers etc matter as the change the landscape of an issue entirely. I accept the statement but still think the fee is low but both in loan and no wages to pay for a year is a good call.

34.) 05 Aug 2014
I think I am in the minority Ed, really not bothered if HL go's spends a lot of time injured and banned. The squad will cope with his loss. If we get between 3.5m and 4m I say good bit of business.

Read a lot of down right crazy posts over the last few days" I have supported Forest for 48 years I have just burnt my season ticket along with my 1980 cup winners top. I will no longer support the owner and club". Beggars belief really let's get behind the football club and actually do some supporting. Players are bought players are sold sometimes a club makes a profit it's a business.!! Cheer up fellow reds it ain't the end of the world.

{Ed034's Note - you probably are lol

35.) 05 Aug 2014
Great philosophy Another Red. It is just a game after all. Who cares if we don't get promoted to Premiership. Can't miss something we not experienced. Why show ambition and get promoted only to worry about coming back down again? Wish I'd not bothered renewing my season ticket and started playing golf on a Saturday instead, more enjoyable. Predict Derby will do double over us this year and get promoted while we watch them and Leicester with envy but hey we will conform to FFP and that's all that matters. SP to walk before end of season
