This may seem counterintuitive but I feel much more positive now that the expected hammer blow has fallen.
Looking at Forests statement ( saying " we will continue to co operate fully " and "look forward to an early and fair resolution ") it seems, reading between the lines, that we will go for a guilty plea to a technical breach of the rules with a lot of mitigation for a lighter sentence. It could be that some form of plea bargaining has started already. I'm hopeful on the whole. If we can escape with a fine, or a suspended sentence ie 10 points suspended providing no further breachs or, at worst a 3 to 5 points deduction I'd take it.
Unlike Everton and Derby who fought all the way ( and look what's happened and is happening to them) I'm sure we can come to an agreement where the Prem gets its "conviction" to fend off Parliament and we live to fight again another day. COYR!

No quotes from your latest literature fest then stokey. Your slipping mate ?. It's left to old balloons to bail you out again.

It'll still be minus 10 points, Stokey. I can't help but think that purely out of distrust of the powers that be in football. They'll want to make an example out of us as well as Everton.

Is not so long as we can say
This is the worst”

By the way Balloons I’m a big fan of Benjamin Franklyn, scientist, inventor, writer, philosopher and the model of a post Renaissance polymath plus in his spare time, one of the Founding Fathers of the USA! Amazing! Not bad for a lad who’s family were from Northamptonshire!

It will be a minimum of 6 points we are deducted, so we need to make sure we beat the teams around us and try and pull away and give ours self a good points gap.

I doubt it will be 10 Mohammred mate otherwise there would be no incentive for clubs to plead guilty and get it sorted. I can think of loads of mitigation for Mr de Marco to put to the ( supposedly and hopefully) independent tribunal.
I’d love to know the details of the charge particularly how much we are over the limit.

Apparently if we'd sold Johnno to Brentford for £35 million we would've been on the right side of FFP.

That’s all mitigation Mohammred. A clever barrister like we’ve hired would say something along the lines of “By selling Mr Johnson later than the given cut off date m’lud by gaining more money we were merely erring on the side of caution, as befits an old and famous club such as ours, being fully committed to maintaining financial stability as per your Lordships requirements. As a responsible club we believed Spurs would pay up sooner with the millions gained from the sale of Harry Kane to Bayern Munich for the bright young star we have nurtured since he was a small boy”! ( ( I’m sure Mr De Marco would put it more persuasively but you get the general drift…. ???.

As always Stokey. I would bow to that argument.
Not guilty Nottingham Forest.

Can't see the Premier League buying that argument though, Gazzi.

Gazzi, I think we are guilty and will accept the charge but then go for mitigation to reduce the sentence mate. This is in contrast to Everton ( and Derby ) who are set on a collision course. It’s best to just cut your losses sometimes…….

I agree Stokey. Our offence is minor compared to others so hopefully a fine and suspended points deduction.

The Premier League will tell us we gained an advantage with overspending by staying up. Minus 10. We'll appeal. They will say it's frivolous. Here's an extra 5 points deduction.

My understanding Mohammred is that we were “overdrawn” if I can put it that way when the accounts had to be submitted on 30th June. We went back into the black when we sold Johnno for £48million at the end of July. So it had no effect, in my view, on us staying up because the season 2022 to 2023, finished in early May.
But, who knows? We don’t know the details. It’s a basic legal requirement in law to know the exact details of the offence alledged. We may never know as I believe the tribunal proceedings are in private.
