I've just read that. Surely no truth in it . If there is then get rid asap. His body language on the pitch often says I don't want to be here. Looks like we've got three burkes in the team. Good news about Henri.

he deserves one because he puts a shift in. our club has stood up to other clubs this time ( first time for a long time ) and said no they aren't for sale and the club deserves credit for that but now they need to stand up to the players at our club who are shirking it and say put the effort in or get out.

He may well want a pay rise and he may well deserve one, but u don't take your issues with the club out by disrespecting the club and the fans. That's just unforgivable.
If all this from Nixon is true. Bloke seems to having far to big an influence over what fans think at the moment and clearly an agenda there for me

We can't give him a pay rise as such under our embargo

I agree he deserves a pay rise for his amazing performances and not because he's had two bids rejected. Is this the real reason why he didn't play on tuesday, head not right lol

I'm not sure about that mate. Admittedly I haven't read the finer detail but don't remember seeing anywhere u can't offer improved terms to existing players

Probably does deserve a rise, should be near top of payscale at Forest, but if he has "gone on strike".get rid for as much as possible as quickly as possible. Shame, but there you have it. No room for those without total commitment. I can get him a couple of months work on the back of a tractor if he needs a reality check!

Haven't seen the story but if the word 'strike' is being used correctly and he's refusing to play then he's being badly advised and will presumably be fined 100 per cent of his wages until the matter is resolved one way or the other. What I suspect is happening, however (and assuming there's any truth in this at all), is that solid interest from other clubs has raised his stock and he's using that as leverage to secure himself a better deal at Forest. This kind of thing happens all the time and the club who own the contract can either meet the player's demands, make him see out his contract under the existing terms or sell.

We are actually allowed to give MA a rise under FFP, won't have any influence on this.
Just read up on this part of the rules. So they can solve this, give him a rise asap!

I can imagine what my boss would say if I went on strike he would show me the door, don't pay him it's as simple as that, then he really would have something to moan about if he doesn't want to play for Forest let him go.

Popstar, I assume your boss would 'show [you] the door' because a) you're not head and shoulders his best performing employee and b) he would be able to replace you

All FFP has really done in this case, is give players even more power, as now they know that billionaire owners can't just replace them!
