It's starting to feel like Ange mk. 2.
The owner is not known for his patience(neither are the fans). One dimensional football and a system that is used regardless of the strengths of the personnel at his disposal.
Hard to watch and more difficult to understand. I would suggest that without an upturn in form and results
OG is already on a slippery slope.


Confusing team selection and absolutely no pace, creativity or guile.
It looks like it's going to be another long, arduous season with probably another management change along the way.
I do hope that I am wrong ?.

My over riding concern is for stability above all Fingers mate. I really hope Glasner pulls it together and gets us moving forward.
We have to deal with the situation as it is, not what we'd like it to be.
But the more I think about it, the sacking of VP when he had everything going for him was like a ref awarding us a penalty and us saying " you know what ref, forget the penalty, we'll take a corner instead " ??
Personally I hope Mr M has VP on speed dial just as a Plan B.

Despite the shocking manner of his sacking, VP is quite a pragmatic bloke and may consider a return.
After all, he was sacked by our owner just after winning the Greek League and Cup double.

Again vp has coached about 10 clubs usually lasts a season in most of his roles always seems to start well then gets sacked because hes not consistent enough. Need to get over the past managers and what could of been cause we will never know simples.

Anybody can do a Google check Skeggs but you need to delve much deeper mate. He's mostly been sacked because, beneath that genial exterior he has quite a spiky personality and falls out with owners. A bit like Cloughie in that regard.
It's not lack of consistency. Indeed he almost invariably leaves the club in a much better position than he found it, with trophies in many cases.
He's an ambitious manager and the vast majority of those 19 clubs are Micky Mouse outfits ( again perhaps like Cloughie at Hartlepool).

Learning his trade.
So, it's just a false assertion that he starts well but has no consistency. His sacking by Mr M ( twice) is more typical. Did a great job at both Olympiakos and Forest and still got the push.
So, I'm afraid you've added 2 and 2 and made 5 my friend.

Skegs agreed, vitor was never a long term appointment, and anyway the big man always wanted glasner, he had the chance to get him and took it, can't believe the panic, I would have liked one or 2 more through the door in the window, but we are, where we are, marinakis won't sack this bloke,

It seems you are reiterating your previous stance, Skeggs. Do you still support OG? OG is not a savior, and his continued unwillingness to consider different strategies could result in his failure. Although he requires time, Marinakis is always quick to make decisions, regardless of whether they are correct.


VP got us scoring and let's say it for what it is Marinakis f'ed up.
The irony is if OG gets the push, he will be £13 million richer.

Skeggs, you clearly haven't read or understood my post. I'll try and explain it as simply as I can for you.
We are both agreed VP has ( in theory ) managed 19 clubs. Are you with me so far?

3 of those are Academy juniors
1 ( Porto) assistant manager
7 are obscure, like I said, as per Clough learning his trade at Hartlepool. So, heard of Sanjoanese, Espinho, Santa Clara, Al Ahli, Shanghai, Al Shabab,.? No, me neither. How about the German equivalent of Port Vale ie 1860 Munich ?
The only " serious” clubs are Porto ( 3 year stint, successful)
Olympiakos ( 1 year stint, successful).

Fenerbache ( 2 years successful) etc.
Wolves we know about. Saved them then sacked when they sold his best players
Forest ( successful but sacked on the whim of the owner).
So, your contention that he " starts well then gets sacked because he's not consistent enough” is demonstrably wrong and wildly inaccurate

Steve, you miss my point mate. I agree that with an 18 month contract VP was not a long term appointment. In fact, he did 4 months work during which he was brilliant and merited being kept on. So, again, he wasn't sacked because he lacked consistency. He was sacked because the owner was inconsistent and chose to have 5 managers a year and made, in my opinion, one of a long series of poor judgement calls.

Skeggs I have to agree with you about Schlager mate. I said on an earlier post., he looks like the bargain of the season so far. A very intelligent footballer, good vision, great ball winner and gets the team moving when he won it. Gets through a load of work too, every game.
