Could you please explain the process by which a player can be acquired using Nottingham Forest's funds and subsequently loaned to Olympiacos? It appears that Forest was reportedly €2 million short of the required amount for both Diamonde and Read.

Feyenoord was seeking €25 million for the player, while our offer was €23 million.
Considering Marinakis's high expectations, how can these be met without investing in high-quality players?

Things don't seem right at all...

It's ridiculous. Haggling over a couple of million.
Diomande (2/3m off the asking price), Read (2/3m off the asking price) and Bergvall (5m? off the asking price before NUFC came in) would all be at the club if we weren't so tight!

Yes, Skegsy, you're bang on. It's called a negotiation, both sides are playing hardball.

Those deals should have been sorted two weeks ago. What are we messing about at, or does Mr M fancy paying out for another manager to walk away. I think we need to get another forward, as well as the two lads, and possibly another midfielder.

It's a good job this lot don't support Newcastle or Fulham. They'd be chucking themselves in the Trent with a lead weight else.

I think some on this site have short memories. You should remember all the rubbish we squandered our money on since we were promoted. We've only lost Anderson, and yes he was good but not brilliant. To be brilliant you have to be consistent every game, and yes he had personal problems, and we all felt for him when we found out.

But you have to be 100 percent for the Premier League or you're going to let your players down. We don't need 5 or so new signings, just a couple of quality players who can lift the rest. Don't forget we've got 4 CFds on the books.

So, as I understand, after reading reports this morning, the deal is not dead. We entered negotiations with a deal for Diomande at 34 million, which Sporting were close to accepting, but then they upped that price to 43 million, so it's not just 2/3 million.

Also, Sporting are well known for this, and they already have their replacement in place for Diomande and need the money. So people need to calm down and let the people who get paid to do their job, and who know their job, get on with it. Happy Friday, people. ?

The lack of transfer activity is maybe a sign of new confidence in the current squad and the manager.
Why rush?
OG is not particularly verbal at the moment, and that suggests he's working with what he has and the club is trying to avoid the chaos of last season.
