Time to revisit the value or not of Mills to the team.

Moved on by average teams all his career.

Promoted by Dougie as a leader but always an accident waiting to happen when in defence.

Got away with a training ground routine for a few and scored but now marked out of corners and when he does find space misses.

Started most of the games during our unbeaten run with 2 DM's to protect him.

As soon as we try to play and expansive game we conceed and low and behold its Mills getting caught out of position or failing to close down.

We have better defenders than Mills has ever been so Dougie should now park him and let the midfield off the leash and let the back 4 stand up and be counted?

As individuals the full backs and other centre backs are as good as any in this league we just need a better system putting pressure on the opposition higher up the park.

So come on Dougie show some tactical flexibility and trust in the squad?

Tactical flexibility from dougie give up and mills a good player in this division like most in this team but most of them out of position dougie taxi 😊.

If it wasn't for the goals of Mat Mills we would be looking at a relegation scrap. He has produced some fine defensive performances too- everyone makes the odd mistake so get off his back. We always see him give 100% and he never shirks a challenge- so what's the problem? I travel home and away to watch the reds - and you couldn't be much further from the truth as most fans I know think he is great.

He's a strong championship defender. I prefer Hobbs and Mancienne at the back however.

Not arguing about his contribution at the scoring end albeit the set piece has now been counter by most teams.

I have watched a fair share of matches and all the goals conceeded and without the blanket cover in front of him he is generally the one that gets out of position or the wrong side when we conceed.

I do not dislike him but in my opinion the back 8 would be just as secure with him out the back four enabling the midfield to be more creative. Happy to give him a run at centre forward where we are short?

Redinexile. Mills is quality at Championship level. Yes he has made one or two errors but so have many others. Overall he has played consistently well all season. At least he turns up every game unlike you COYR.

Can't believe we actually having a debate on the defence now. The one area we can claim we're as good as any other in the league and the one success story of the season.

I think hobbs is the best defender. I don't like mills and manciene paired. Hobbs should play but mills is ok and is a threat in opposition box. Manciene is a bit small to play centraland hobbs distribution better.
