Brentford apparently are interested in Paterson, although Huddersfield have a deal for a price in their loan deal they have yet to get in touch with Forest.

What price do you think we could get for him.?

I have heard the price is 500k.

In today's market i'm surprised he has not left by now for that money.

Depends if they are paying for what he is worth or if they are paying for his potential lol.

What do you think about him, and in both circumstances what would you pay?

Well it's hard to comment as a fan as we are judging him on the rumours of bad attitude and no effort in training but I don't know any of that for myself, just what we have heard.

If I judge him on recent performances I'd say £500k is fair but if I look at his age and ability then I'd say could ask for £1.5m. I know I'll get slated for this but under the right manager he can be a special player for a team. He's English too so there's a premium for that as well. He can be an exciting player and his ability has shown us before that he has it in his locker. Just depends how much a club wants him but I believe there is room for negotiation there and we could get more then he is worth.

But that's probably the reason I am not the club financial advisor 😂.

Personally I would like to see paterson stay, ok he had an off season last season but so did many others. He's played very well for Huddersfield and who can forget how he destroyed Westham in the cup.

Wouldn t like to comment on his attitude or how much he is worth but what I will say is, Pato as got premiership feet and it, s a pity our last 2 managers haven, t got more out of him, but aye that's football!
CARLO.

Yeah I agree with giving the lad another chance but like we all said we don't know what's happening behind closed doors. I thought Abdoun was a decent player but he stayed on the wages for 2 years without even getting looked at by any manager.

I would love to see him at his best in a forest shirt tho, probably be one of the best in the championship if he lives up to his potential.

Yes, he did have a good game against West Hams development squad.

With far fetched claims like those above you can see why some fans expectations are way too high.

1.5 million?
Special player?
Premiership feet?
Destroyed West Ham? ( youth team )

He's a league one player who hasn't improved since the day he signed. Another waste of a squad place. Get rid and off the wage bill.

Ibm

How much would you sell him for?

For the 500k as a suggested figure above, or less.

In the summer when the manager should have money to spend who would you bring in?

I think it's partly when any player puts on that red shirt they get a special 'legend' status in my personal eyes whether it's deserved or not. Basically they become Heros so I expect more from them and think more of them.

Transfers surprise me all the time with players figures so although I agree £500k would probably be about right, I wouldn't be massively shocked if it was £1-1.5m either. And that's why I am not a agent 😂

Like it was said above tho, if him leaving frees up another squad place then I am happy with that too, but I can see ability there that is quality on his day. But that's why I am not a scout either 😂.

Since this post has started all I have done is rule myself out of jobs.

I'll take Kitman if the position is still available? 👍🏻.

Tomorrow etc.

I just cannot see the lad making it into a team that should hopefully be challenging for promotion in the near future so with this in mind I would let him go for free if necessary to get him off the wage bill and hopefully bring in a player who will push hard for a first team place. Obviously if a few clubs show an interest then we may get a few quid back but I wouldn't expect more than 2-3 hundred thousand. As for who I would bring in its a bit of an unfair question as I ain't got a clue who might be available in the summer. Ask me again at the beginning of August.

I agree with what your saying about pushing for first team place. At 24 he is at that age where he needs to be in first team really and he isn't ready for that with us so it's best to let him go, but I wouldn't be surprised if he turned into a better player over the next few years. That being said I also wouldn't be shocked if he disappeared down the leagues. It's hard to call these days. You got players like vardy banging them in and players like falco looking like he has had a visit from the monsters from space jam 😂.

Not sure how bright Pato is but if he has any sense he should model himself on Jamie Ward, Dickov and John Spencer before him.
All of them have had good careers making a nuisance of themselves and punching above their weight?

25 Jan 2016 21:52:17
But don't you think if we're only going to get a couple of hundred thousand for him at this age he's worth keeping on our books don't think he's been given a fare chance in our team all though I'm happy with the team that's playing at the minute he's at the right age to fight for a place and think he's worth holding on to.

18.) 25 Jan 2016
25 Jan 2016 22:13:11
He doesn't track back and tackle and his pace is not exactly blistering. We've done ok without him. Let him go and good luck to him.

I'd go for Nick Powell in the summer as he is out of contract and a lot to prove still. DF is a big admirer too.

Do Walsall get a share of any fee?

{Ed001's Note - there is a solidarity levy on all transfer now of 5% split between clubs who develop a player as a youngster. So they will get something.}
