Cox confirmed as a Reading player now, not sure on Mackie situation

Apparently an announcement will come in the near future but it is still on

2.) 07 Aug 2014
The cull continues! Wonder if anyone else coming in?

3.) 07 Aug 2014
Didnt have the best strike rate for Forest but still scored probably one of the best goals I've seen from a player in a forest shirt against Birmingham. Good luck to him, just not against us!

Pearce said he wants a small, tight squad with each player capable of reaching top 6. So the "cull" is of those he doesn't feel fit the bill (other than Lascelles and Darlow who meant we could afford Antonio and Assombalonga). So Pearce is trimming the fat, and so far seems to be a good judge (although personally I like Mackie, he's not an out n out winger or a striker)

I have liked cox's work rate but for a striker to score so little goals is not good enough to get us to prem, I feel as if he has been replace with much better quality! Fryatt Lars assombalonga! Av it! Coyr

He tried, he ran around, he worked hard, he tweeted, but simply not good enough. Good luck Simon, keep taking the money my friend. 14 goals in God knows how many games.

{Ed034's Note - he contributed. No need for fans to boo him when he comes back

Cox was always a weird one to me, when he was at the top of his game, he would score impressive goals and he was a joy to watch. When he was anything below max form, he was pretty bad.
Liked his work rates though, can't fault him for that & always seemed like a genuinely alright guy.

Mackie on the otherhand, I have always liked. Something about him which I rate, I just don't know what. Once he has a solid role in a solid formation, I think he will shine.

Leaves us just three strikers as far as I can work out, an unproven Dutch lad, a lad from league one and Fryatt. I'd have kept one of them, as a fourth striker either would be the envy of the league

Still got Patterson who knows where the net is.

10.) 08 Aug 2014
Got to say I loved it when he stood in front of the sheep next to us behind the goal when we got thumped by them 5-0 and he "cleared his throat" starring them down. well done son.

We technically still got Blackstock who has played for Pearce before.
