Anyone kin anything about the new sponsorship deal on the OS. From what I can tell the have offices here and in the Gulf and are a trading house. I'm assuming it must be quite lucrative?

NEP linking us with Mikele Leigertwood. He's out of contract. Any thoughts?

Tdv

1.) Steady player. Doesn't really exite me. He's 32 this year.

2.) Thoughts are that both him and jobi mcanuf would be quality additions to the squad and give us some very good strength in depth

3.) Are we only signing freebies? let's show a bit of ambition

4.) Disagree. Gone are the days of free transfers being poor, unwanted players. A lot of it now comes down to a clubs inability to afford wages of sometimes their better players or having to make tough decisions on which of the better players to retain due to budgets.
Some really quality now available on free transfers and our club should without doubt take advantage of that

{Ed034's Note - agree keeno

5.) 10 Jul 2014 22:52:46
Look like decent players but not the long term players we need to take us forward. both seem a little goal shy? do we think our new forward line will give us the goals? I really hope so but still think we need to chip in goals from other areas like Reidy and Vaughn can. we need younger talent in my opinion (we have the senior players) so we can build and move forward

{Ed034's Note - we have goalscoring midfielders

6.) One word, No!

{Ed034's Note - carry on....

7.) You're right, 'no' is one word. So is inarticulate. I think they'd be good signings Not necessarily regular starters, but would add to the depth of squad which cost us any chance of success last season.

8.) Have to agree with the finding bargain`s and freebies, but these two cast off`s from Reading are not filling me with joy.

9.) 11 Jul 2014 09:39:05
Think they will be decent signings. Give us some depth. Some of our fans will only be happy when we sign players for stupid amounts. Then we will get done over by ffp and then they'll be happy again because they will have another thing to moan about.

10.) How are people failing to see that he would be a good signing if vaughan gets injured then who do we play there it is good to have experienced cover and I hope he signs

11.) Leigterwood and McAnuff are proven players at championship level and have premiership experience. If no fee nor exorbitant wages are involved, then they are both worth signing.

12.) I think back up to Vaughan is a good call, but think we can get a more exciting extra winger in than McAnuff surely Burke would be a better option?

Apperntly we are looking at Dean Cox from Orient. Several other teams in too.

Tdv

1.) Just what we need. More Cox.

2.) Dean cox has been good enough to play in the championship for some time now. just needs his chance, i'm sure he will do very well at any club he moves to

3.) 28 May 2014 18:17:04
Watched him several times Very good prospect

4.) I like Cox!

5.) Get him in! Booom!

6.) Nice replacement for the other one!

7.) Careful where you say that Chelmsley red

8.) My Mrs knows her stuff, she reckons two Cox is always better than one.

{Ed034's Note - now, now

25 May 2014 07:59:43
One website reporting Forest interest in Matt Grimes of Exeter City.

Tdv

{Ed034's Note - been around for a couple of days

1.) Ed, I clearly have my finger well and truly on the pulse.

{Ed034's Note - lol

29 Apr 2014 16:12:35
Mail reporting we want Konstantopolous from Middlesborough.

Tdv

1.) I hope not no one would be able to afford printing his name on their shirts :)

2.) Why? Unless we are going to sell Darlow which you think would be a bad move by Pearce considering he said we would want to use our academy, if we sell him this summer people will just say we are only going to sell the ones good enough to get us promotion.

{Ed034's Note - it might not be in pearces hands whether he goes or not abd if he does we are in a win win situation. If he stays then great, if not it'll bring in good money to help with ffp and funding of players

3.) I suppose but you think Pearce would be allowed to decide since we do have him on a longer contract, he may want to go anyway. I think if we are considering £3mil for a striker we're not even trying to comply with ffp, I don't think it can be enforced anyway, they can't decide where the money (if the club is fined) is going to go.

{Ed034's Note - the player may hear of a club interested and say he wants to leave? There are many reasons why he could go, but if he does then so be it.

4.) I would be very surprised if we were looking at a 35 year old keeper as first choice. Maybe as a replacement for DeVries, if he wants to move on?

5.) For me, FFP will be in force here. and if we can get above 5M, then recruit others etc then that's the way of the world, look at Man City PSG. They have been pulled up. we need to make sure we are ok.

I would however keep Darlow, think he is superb!

{Ed034's Note - if darlow did go, I'd like us to look at the notts keeper Bialkowski.

I for one want FAZ to stay. He's spent a lot of cash. Some of his decisions are a bit questionable, but it's his money. The club will hopefully come out of FFP in May and then we can progress. Regarding DF, I do feel a bit sorry for him, but I think the squad was good enough to do better. I wouldn't have minde him staying, but I'm not sad he's gone. The way some of the players have been playing I can only assume they'd given up on him. Not very professional when you're getting paid a bomb.

Tdv

1.) 15 Mar 2016 14:05:46
He hasn't spent anything? The club still owe the money.

2.) 15 Mar 2016 14:06:30
If you went to the bank and borrowed ten grand would you see it as the bank going out shopping or spending money on people?

3.) 15 Mar 2016 14:26:25
Totally agree tdv, Fawaz, has even said he would like to and might sit amongst the fans when we go to The Sheep ☺☺.

29 Jan 2016 06:19:57
Said it earlier in the month is anyone up for bringing back Lars yet? No striker signed and he's still scoring goals.

Tdv

1.) 29 Jan 2016 08:58:56
He is on a season loan with NO call back.

2.) 29 Jan 2016 13:37:13
I don't think he wants to come back, wouldn't get the best tout of him forcing a recall.

3.) 29 Jan 2016 16:20:05
He wouldn't get in our Sunday team.

06 Jan 2016 13:33:57
Veldwijk is scoring. We need goals why not bring him back?

Tdv

1.) 06 Jan 2016 17:20:32
Fully agree. Can't possibly be any worse than o'Grady.

2.) 06 Jan 2016 18:10:42
O'Grady covers a lot of ground and provides physical presence, but Lars is a big lad too and he's never been given a proper run in the Forest team; he clearly knows where the onion bag is.

3.) 06 Jan 2016 18:41:26
It's comments like these that make me realise how glad I am that DF makes the decisions!

4.) 06 Jan 2016 18:49:52
Yes he did well sending veldwijk out on loan I mean we wouldn't want someone playing for us that can score 9 goals in 16 games would we 😁.

5.) 06 Jan 2016 19:02:46
Just been watching him on uTube. The lad can score goals. Not sure how they match up with championship teams but he's doing well over there. Sounds like they now want to buy him.

6.) 06 Jan 2016 20:04:43
Skegs master plan has now been uncovered. Bring back donkey Veldwijk and get Pearson to coach him into a prolific goal scorer. Champions league here we come!

7.) 06 Jan 2016 20:32:28
When Lars was with us we were trying to make him a bribling type of player and he looked like bambi on ice giraffe. We should have been using his height in the same way as we use Blackstock . A target man and let players live off his flicks. This is what we are trying to do with O grady and Olivera. The ring of Lars and Olivera
would be awesome and cause a problem with most centre halves in our league.

8.) 06 Jan 2016 21:01:20
Ibeleive that partnership would be great 😆.

9.) 06 Jan 2016 21:12:28
the goals lars scoring is totally different, like sunday league over here. makes no difference, he, s gone, if any want to go let them go, freedman picks the team, players, style of play, no matter is said on here, so may as well keep dreaming on.

10.) 07 Jan 2016 07:46:01
Some of the comments on here never cease to amaze me. So many posters on here (quite rightly) exalt the virtues of the way a true genius (Mr Brian Clough) wanted the game to played, and yet people on here still want a centre forward to 'flick it on'. My advise would be to read John McGoverns book, or better still talk to him at the ground about Mr Cloughs attitude to centre forwards who 'flicked it on', he (Mr Clough) once took Peter Withe off the park after 15 minutes because he had done just that 3 times! .
A centre forwards job (apart from scoring goals) is to hold the ball up and bring other players into the game, a job O'Grady does extremely well, and his effort cannot be faulted.

11.) 07 Jan 2016 09:56:21
Redrightthrough, completely agree about O'Grady. I can't help wondering if Lars could do that and grab goals. As for the erdedivision being like Sunday league I suspect that Feyenoord, PSV and Ajax would dispute that and let's not loose sight of the fact that we're playing in the Championship, a good league, but not the top flight. Consistently playing Veldwijk could result in goals in any league because he knows how to score.

30 Aug 2015 15:13:03
Probably a banter post, but really in response to a lot of posts on here. I do not believe the club is that badly run. The problem is FFP. I still think it is being applied more severely by the Football league than anywhere else in Europe. Lots of other clubs are seemingly immune while we are getting spanked.

Tdv

1.) 30 Aug 2015 16:13:19
Wake up smell the Coffee
if it was well run we would not be loosing money week in week out

2.) 30 Aug 2015 18:51:35
Most clubs lose money, even as you put it the well run ones.
We were losing money under Doughty when we had a proper structure, and which you could say was well run,but the fans did not want that so he went and we got Fawaz now said fans don't want that so if he goes then what,we hopefully get someone else until said person or persons do or don't do something that so called fans want and then we start the whole cycle again, what you want only exists in a perfect world, and the world is far from perfect so what we have is what we have

19 Aug 2015 06:53:00
Some of the stuff on here is negative and perhaps that's understandable. Clearly FFP has a big part to play in our current situation. I feel that it has been applied in particularly harsh fashion and that the manager and FAH don't deserve the criticism being dished out. Leeds, QPR etc seem to have got off very lightly and I thought Platini was reviewing the whole issue, which is clearly a joke applied in different ways as the league sees fit.

If MA and HL go that's not great (who can blame them, a lot of the talk about loyalty is very naive) I still think we can do alright due to our youngsters.

Simple. Keep Pearce. No obvious choice to replace him. Pearce needs time and a leader on the pitch. Look at Sam Aladyce this time last year and he's turned it around. Be patient.

I think there are a lot of clubs that would appeal; however, I'm glad Forest is not one of them.

I quite like the idea of being contracted for a number of games rather than a period of time. I missed the poster's name, but they make a good point about out of contract players leaving for free. Also to the OP, are you also frustrated with the club captain and Reidy? I'm certainly not. I'm pretty sure all these guys would rather be pushing for a place in the team. What we need is adequate cover.

2Star, my thoughts would tend to agree, although I think Hef is worth holding onto as a Squad player. That said he does have the odd moment of calamity.

I don't get the international clearance thing. If the guy's an EU citizen (Pillinos too) surely he can ply his trade anywhere. It's all Dutch to me.

Tdv

{Ed001's Note - international clearance is just the footballer's registration, to check it really is them and you haven't ended up with Ali Dia instead. It is between the relevant FA's and is just paperwork to be transferred just to ensure the same player can't turn out for more than one team and to check if he has any suspensions etc hanging over his head from his previous team.}
