In the EP it says that both Halford and Collins have been told they can find a new club. It is as if SP has been monitoring this site as he is so on the ball with us on who is needed, only Harding and I think that is everyone that has been mentioned

I think he'll keep Harding, decent backup and probably a low earner. (and not injury prone? Could be wrong)

If he does, it'll be the right decision IMO. I can't be bothered to list all my reasons why but I'm sure that most people can probably see why it would make sense.

2.) 07 Aug 2014
Will be glad to see Collins go, such a weak link when he played. Never knew what to do with the ball at his feet.

{Ed034's Note - I think the level of negativity aimed at him is unfair. not our strongest centre back but did a steady job when asked to

3.) 07 Aug 2014
Mmmm maybe a few more coming in then? especially if Lansbury goes? SP interview on Sky, he seems happy now the money being re invested on the 2 players yesterday! the calm after the storm! All is good again on the good ship Forest!

4.) 07 Aug 2014
Ed, I agree with you. I don't think we should hang on to him nor was he the greatest CB ever, but he was pretty steady. Is he likely to be let go or will we see some cash?

{Ed034's Note - exactly. the guy was playing last season with a make shift midfield in front of him. no he didn't play well, but nobody did and I don't think he deserved the stick alone

5.) 07 Aug 2014
I would rather have Collins and Halford in front of Harding, I hope Harding doesn't read this site.
SP knows far more than us though, especially at LB and if he chooses that we keep him, there must be a glimmer of potential - I just can't see it.

6.) 07 Aug 2014
I think Harding will play number 2 at left back next season behind Fox, I have a sneaky suspicion SP plans to play Cohen in midfield where for me he is at his best!

{Ed034's Note - pearce has said in an interview about cohen and being a left back. don't get me wrong, he'll play midfield at some point, but if we have a fully fit midfield, it sounds like left back is his positions

He probably did get a lot of criticism, but for me he isn't steady enough to give you confidence at the back. Just need the likes of Hobbs & Wilson to be fit!

8.) 07 Aug 2014
Let Harding go why do we need to keep him got Cohen fox and licha who can also cover lb if hunt nails down rb position. Just need to keep Lansbury and sign another cm and were done unless we offered someone like Zaha

What's wrong with Harding he's good enough as a no. 2 left back

10.) 07 Aug 2014
I still remember when Harding came in and everyone was overjoyed just that we'd finally signed an actual left back. Now he's possibly 3rd choice and people want him out. no matter what beefs people have with Fawaz no-one can deny we haven't progressed under his leadership!

11.) 07 Aug 2014
Harding is a poor player! He is the worst player at the club! Absolutely no idea! I would rather keep Halford! More effort & commitment! How he become a professional footballer I will never know! We sit I'm the lower BC & see it close to!

Collins, Cox and Halford were for me our most inconsistent players last season. Yes I know Cox ran his socks off but as I have said before on the OS site, running your socks off does not won you games; getting more goals than the opposition does. Halford totally lost his way for me, and towards the end off at season put in some awful displays. But Captain Calamity - as I was calling Collins - was so far off the mark in some games you'd have thought he had never played a game before. Yes, he put in some last-ditch saving tackles, but then he'd go and spoil it at some point by being caught out of position or missing that all-important tackle, or giving the ball away, or playing an awful clearance to opposition, or. you get the idea. I think he lost a lot of confidence and to be fair moving on might do him the world of good, a bit like Radi. (sorry ed, I know you've your own opinions!).

13.) 07 Aug 2014
Do we not have any decent youth players who could play 3rd fiddle to Cohen and Fox? Get Harding off the wage bill. He is league one quality at best. Has been known to put a decent cross in but is such a liability at the back and struggles to get back when other team counters

14.) 07 Aug 2014
Have we really progressed under Fawaz?, first season I think we finished eighth, last season think it was tenth, not having a go at him but he needs to give the manager time every time a new one comes in its a change of players and staff, this does look to be the best squad we've had under his regime, hopefully they will gel pretty quick, there his no dispute he has supported every manager with buying players but at this time we have not really moved forward let's hope he. His patient this time, hope fully Stuart will deliver or PP will be that much richer LoL!

15.) 07 Aug 2014
Colin Hazelden on EMT has just said that Harding and Collins have been told they can leave. Didn't mention Halford.

16.) 07 Aug 2014
EMT said Harding and Collins been told they can look for clubs. County are recruiting boys I'll row you across mesen ;)
Thank you for your efforts and good night don't worry those that leave you'll be able to watch us on MOTD next year!

{Ed034's Note - lol

Harding has improved a lot since the start of last season.

The last goal of last season sums up Collins for me.

And halford forces the team to play far to deep, pearce will not allow the team to play like that.

I think halford is being critisied far to much, under billy he played evry position he was asked and never once complained.

I even read that he would train as cb and then in a match play centre forward.

If he does go, I wish him all the best and hope he nails down a position and nmot become another utility player for his next team.

19.) 08 Aug 2014
Harding was a good signing that didn't pay off, it happens, but he should be nowhere near the team now so should be moved on. His confidence was so low he didn't want the ball and was afraid to make tackles. When he and Collins played together it was as if every attack led to a chance. They can both leave knowing they did their best but it wasn't good enough. I never thought when he signed a centre half from Stoke he wouldn't be able to head!

20.) 08 Aug 2014
You've to remember the circumstances that we signed the three mentioned defenders. I think when SOD started we only had one senior defender. Collins is in the twilight of his career and lacks pace. His tackling and heading is still very good and let's not forget he played the majority of his career at the highest level. His effort cannot be questioned. Harding l personally have never rated but we went about 5/6 years without having a permanent left back so he felt a god send at the time. Unless he is disruptive in the dressing room l would keep Halford. He rarely played his best position of CB and rarely has a bad game there. At full back he gets caught out as he turns like a tug boat. Very good touch for a big man and could do a job as a holding midfielder.
