SSN £8m for Assambolonga with £5m payable up front.

Hope he is worth it?

1.) 06 Aug 2014
Anyone seen Assombalonga in Nottingham? Nobody passing by to see if any late night business is being completed? Barry Fry about town?

{Ed034's Note - Barry fry was in nottm yesterday

2.) 06 Aug 2014
£8m! Must be having a giraffe!

{Ed034's Note - after add ons

3.) 06 Aug 2014
Can't see it being this price but pretty sure he will sign later today or tomorrow

4.) 06 Aug 2014
Firstly Gary Baldy is a class monicker!
Aye they're talking about a club record £5.5 million pound? Is he that good?
I read on here earlier too that other clubs up the price when dealing with us and that looks to be the case here.
With Antonio I've heard between £1. 25-£1. 75 so let's say £1. 5 then Brit's £5. 5 that's all the cash from JL and KD gone?!?
Now that's what worries me- I reasoned with myself that we took that money as we were 10mill in the read last year and could understand why it was done even if I didn't wan them to leave. these deals have blown that theory right out the water so was their sale in order to break even or just grease the wheels for more additions without going further into the red?
Answers on a postcard please or just post it on here instead! lol
It may be blind faith on my part but I feel we're doing good business. the best bit though would be getting Henri to give it until at least January before he decides because let's face it we'll be in top six whilst Burnley will be in the bottom six!

If this is true then the two signings eat up the money from darlow and lescelles. Skint again

{Ed034's Note - lol

6.) 06 Aug 2014
While I can't believe anyone is going to pay £8 million pound for this guy, this is obviously the man SP wanted and has awesome pace and power and more importantly potential. Whatever the price agreed hopefully the doubters regarding Fawaz will shut up now and get behind this new team. Along with Antonio you can't tell me that you won't now believe that what we have to look forwards to over the next few months is more exciting than at any time over the past few years. Now the rest is up to us.

{Ed034's Note - it's £5m which could rise to £8m

7.) 06 Aug 2014
That's the price of striking talent now had to have a laugh was perusing on a pboro website earlier and someone commented on britt. "Good footballing brain but rarely produces on the pitch" erm 33 goals in a season are you sure?

8.) 06 Aug 2014
Hi Ed. Just want to say, for that amount of money if true, he goes on and scores the same amount of goals as last season.

9.) 06 Aug 2014
Ed I'm not sure how business is done behind the scenes, but could it be possible that:
Selling JL and KD puts +7m into the club, so let's say we're now in the red by 3m.
Could Fawaz have bought these signings out of his own pocket, to keep the club at that 3m, or would that also take us to -10m?

If this is completely wrong then just don't post this, it was just an idea after seeing what others had posted above.

{Ed034's Note - it can't come out of his own pocket, as he has out in what he is allowed. The money from darlow and lascelles has funded these two

10.) 06 Aug 2014
We're balancing our books by selling off our prized assets at knock-down prices and throwing any money we have left at unproven talents.

It's textbook business management. Well don't to all involved. Ha.

{Ed034's Note - we are signing two attacking players to create and score goals, something that every forest fan admits needed sorting and to do this he has sold two players to fund two exciting talents.
The deal for the two sold is not disclosed but is beloved to be worth £7m, plus saving around £1.5m on wages as we have them back on loan for a season.
You may not agree on selling the players for the money gone, but at least we have strengthened and now have two things we have been missing

11.) 06 Aug 2014
21 one years old, pace power, can obviously finish. Great potential, goalscorers get teams promoted. So good buy really! We will loose Darlow and Lascelles, but, we do have another couple of new young centre halves and a young goalie.

Antonio and him, will add a dimension we have not had for years. Pace and power!! Along with the class of Patterson, Reid, Lansbury etc!

Another ex Southend player emmmm

13.) 06 Aug 2014
What everyone seems to be forgetting is that we still have KD and JL for the season.
So Cox and Mackie have gone to Reading and been replaced straight away with two pretty exciting prospects.
If you look at our team on paper for this season I think we have the best shot at going up than we have had in a long, long time.
I'm excited!

14.) 06 Aug 2014
Fawaz just announced! 5 year deal!

15.) 06 Aug 2014
What is wrong with people. How exciting is that signing. 20 goals for Britt or I will drink my own urine out of a derby beaker

16.) 06 Aug 2014
There some persons about!
8million for a top striker who will score goals, goals and more goals!

It's the first time we've had a goalscorer since the days of collymore and van hooijdonk! And they both got us promoted!
so assombolonga. say no more! COYR!

17.) 06 Aug 2014
Was very upset bout the sale of Darlow and Lascelles, but the signing of these two lads are good signings and does add a lot more fire power to the side.

I would rather the deal for 5m young very good striker than the 11m for mcormack that Fulham shelled out for someone who may only have another good season in him.

18.) 06 Aug 2014
If the deal for Assombalonga is to be believed at 8m (after add on's) and this lad turns out to be a diamond and we end up promoted his value will of just doubled if not quadrupled. Good business!!

Good to see the excitement back now for Saturday.

19.) 06 Aug 2014
We've had our pants down on this one and unless Assombalongname scores a hatful next season then he will have been an over-priced, expensive mistake.

I appreciate he is 21yo and is better judged over the next 2-3 years but Forest need to invest in players that will improve the first team squad immediately and I'm not sure this guy is good enough. He's certainly not proven.

We wouldn't be held to ransom over Sako but we chuck twice as much money at this fella? Seems bizarre to me. Is Fawaz trying to make up for upsetting Pearce and the fans, or was this the big signing that was planned all along?

{Ed034's Note - haha

20.) 06 Aug 2014
Stop moaning for godsake!
Let's be thankful that were one of the hatfull of clubs that can sigh quality players like brit! FTID
