Evening Reds. A long way off, but I should be there for the 5th September game against Spurs. I'm planning to be at the TBI around 1pm with McGovern and Stokey. It would be great to meet as many of you as possible there for a beer before the game.

I got more chance of turning pink, growing a curly tail, trotters and wings. 5th is Mrs Winters' birthday. ??

C'mon, Winter. Do it the Cornish way, mate. Give Mrs Winter a good birthday seeing-to first thing, then feed her a pasty for brunch. After that offer to take her to the Forest game, followed by a romantic dinner after the game.

She'll be so mellow that she'll refuse the game and agree to dinner with you at 7.30pm, once she's 'recovered'.

Job done, mate.

Nah she deserves better than a day out in the Midlands lol. It's going to be Dublin or Edinburgh, I think. Long weekend, wined and dined, expensive hotel, keep her happy, and I can do anything I want for the rest of the year. ??

Fair play, mate. I've not been, but Mrs Legolas raved about Edinburgh after her recent visit with our daughter.

Edinburgh is right up there with the best cities in the world, well worth a long weekend. ?

Been there, mate...
Both are great, however, Dublin for me, not being biased.

Manchester trumps em both.

Edinburgh (where a lot of my family are from) is beautiful. Dublin is a good laugh. Manchester is just great for the music and love the atmos. London is too crowded.

I hate London, as you said, the crowds are too much, and also the scale of the place. I was considering Whitby, but there isn't a whole lot going on down there. Edinburgh is convenient for me, tbh, a couple of hours drive or by train.

Manchester just doesn't appeal to me, and doesn't have the same ring to it. I can imagine her face, 'babe I've booked us a fantastic weekend away in Manchester'. ? ?

{Ed001's Note - bring her to Dubai - she will love it. You don't even have to pay a fortune if you stay away from the tourist traps.}

The sort of women I've dated (who love going to gigs) have loved my weekends in Madchester. It's not working so well now I'm middle-aged. Trips to the Med are coming into force at this point.

Funny story: I actually met her in Newquay. We were both at Boardmasters and found her sulking in the chill out area, both disappointed with the music and kids (younger people, ?) running around and being rude. Several pints of Cornish Rattler, and more than a decade later, we're still putting up with each other. ? ?
