Allegedly Farwaz tweet imminent with signing of Fryatt. Not sure whether I'm impressed tbh but hey, ho-he's a striker but so are Miller/Derbyshire et al.

Red Diva

1.) 16 Jan 2014 19:40:54
I really hope not another average forward, we need someone dynamic and definitely not Fryatt.

2.) Fryatt would be big mistake, he wouldn't be any better than strikers we already got. Go for wickham

3.) Had his fair share of injuries tbh. He may come to Forest with a point to prove. We'll soon find out!

4.) Fryatt not bad at this level but not prem class as above would like wickham

5.) Agreed, we've got enough poor strikers as it is! Fryatt and cox up front oh dear!

6.) 16 Jan 2014 20:27:39
I personally think Fryatt would be a very good signing. The chances we have been creating would suit him, get the ball in the box, Fryatt will got you goals. Just my own personal opinion.

7.) You can't say he's going to be a mistake, in hindsight maybe but not before. Give him a chance his figures speak for themselves.

8.) So so negative. All the time. Fryatt and wickham looked quality to me at Wednesday. Fryatt now wickham in a week or so what's the problem.

9.) 16 Jan 2014 20:34:40
Gets injured too often, but has a good goal scoring record.
Better than what we have, and I doubt he's the only striker Billy and Fawaz are bringing in this window.

10.) Looks as if Fryatt was Billy boys first choice for striker after all!
Andy Greay has just stated Wickham wants to extend his stay at SWFC.

11.) Ed do you remember in the summer and loan window when we were linked with wickham and everyone was slating him? A few goals for sheff wed and everyone loves him and wants him! I have always been a fan of wickham, but these comments about fryatt are crazy! Like the post above said, fryatt plays off last defender and if you get the ball to him in the box he has a great eye for goal! At 27 he is at a great age for a striker too. Can lead the line and grab a few cheeky goals.

I will be happy with anyone fawaz and billy sign as it will be all part of the plan for promotion.

MysticRed

{Ed034's Note - I remember saying I rate him and getting slated for it

12.) Wickham isn't perfect, but we won't be able to attract any better. BUT any day of the week he is class and s half above fryatt. i'd keep miller rate him above Matty f

{Ed034's Note - you'd rather keep a plauer who doesn't score, over a proven goalscorer?? Rather strange comment

13.) Yeah I remember you getting slated by a few of them when you said you rated him. It's like you said before, players don't get bought at 17 for £12m for nothing!

MysticRed

14.) 16 Jan 2014 21:20:32
Fryatt would be a decent punt at a decent price. less of a risk than other names. What I'm really jealous of is the ability to receive word a tweet is on its way through the World Wide Web before it actually breaks. Snowden eat your heart out, this sort of surveillance is powerful indeed.

15.) I'll second that! Fryatt will be a good signing IMO. We have a strong team and the service he'd get would be fist class. A very astute signing it proven to be true, plus I've always rated the lad!

16.) Meh I can't say I'm that excited but happy to be proven wrong. But then again with BD's track record with strikers, I'm not holding my breath. Just think in January, if we're serious about pushing for promotion we need an in form striker, who has something a bit special (Southampton did it with Sharp when they got promoted) seems a bit pointless going for somone of the same ilk as Cox, Derbyshire, Henderson et al.

17.) Fryatt has scored more premiership goals this season than Connor Wickham has ;-)

18.) I wouldn't mind fryatt to be honest. He's proven at this level really but like everyone else has said he's not premiership material at all. But I still think cox has more to offer, he's a great striker on form, he just needs help finding that form. COYR!

19.) 16 Jan 2014 21:47:10
Tweet tweet now where that bird 😄

20.) But to those who say he is not premiership quality, we are not in the premiership and wickham may not be premiership class or he would be in the sunderland outfit) like sharp appears not to be, or he would play in southamptons team!. At 500,000 and the 500,000, 1 million for the two and maybe 500,000 for vaughan of sunderland would be great astute business.

21.) Fryatt, cox, hendo and pato is not a bad forward line with halford in the mix too, job done. Promised land we are a coming.

22.) Get Fryatt in, because we ain't going to get anybody else! He is proven in this division, had was also putting them away forSheff Weds on his loan spell, he will not cost a lot, so money over to strengthen the midfield, and maybe another striker? COYR!

23.) Sorry that should have read;

500k for Fryatt
500k for Hobbs
500k for Vaughan of Sunderland
= job well done
and my old coach at Southwell City, Colin Barrett as a full-back!

24.) Give Derbyshire a chance! Start him more often and he's bound to bring in some goals.

25.) They say football is a game of opinions so here's mine - Fryatt would be good if we bought 2 forwards, one young, one experienced.
Fawaz tweets - Either your arabic or translator is better than mine because fawaz's tweets only mention that he was travelling to nottm ahaead of the Blackburn game - hopefully leaving today to do some business hopefully.
Rhodes is too expensive at £12m but Blackburn need to cut their wage bill due to their Indian owners bad management so there still could be a deal to be done.
Wickham is still my first choice. If you read Sunderland blogs they cane him as a waste of money and PDC said he needed a slap around the face! Hopefully his current form means he's sorted his s*** out.
In Fawaz we must trust.

26.) Southwell City my that takes me back had a few good encounters with them. anyhow we must ask ourselves if Fryatt was our number 9 from game one this season would he have hit 10 by now?. my thinking is he would given the chances we have spurned. he's worth a gamble for me and if he hits the ground running scoring regular then this could be the difference.

{Ed034's Note - I used to play for them when I was 17/18

27.) Ed, you used to play for southwell, when?

{Ed034's Note - around 1996/97

Red top -who 'is the fairest of them all' reporting Arsenal sent chief scout to watch Lascelles who is their 'long term target'

Red Diva

1.) Read in numerous articles arsenal had a 5 million bid turned down for lascelles at 17, Ed do you know if this is true? I remember hearing at the time but I thought it was about 1 million?

{Ed034's Note - yes it is true. it was for around half up front and then the rest in add ons

Not a rumour-sorry. A thought. I hope we get a DM in before the next game because although for me, Mousse was MOTM in the 2 games before last night's, at Preston he seemed to be quite unreliable, Bambi on Ice again. We got away with it but I'm not sure we would against a Champ side. Granted, others were also poor but not so dramatically or in such a vital place. Just thought I'd share that as rumours are quiet.

Red Diva

{Ed034's Note - nobody played well other than lascelles and halford, so why pick out moussi?? if anyone deserves no to be, it is the guy who has just been giving mom for two games running isn't it??

1.) To add to lascelles and halford I thought Mackie ran his nuts off and was outstanding I know I will get backlash but thought moose was poor last night and against Yeovil can play well on his day but not consistent enough to be a regular in this side really gutted about Lansbury we really missed him and Reid last night

{Ed034's Note - Mackie did well first 30mins but I thought he wasn't his normal self after that

2.) Got to agree with both of you Red Diva and Ed but Moussi was really bad last night it was like playing with 10 men.

{Ed034's Note - no it wasn't. moussi and jara were up against three players and at times they were going to get caught out. radi came on to help out but went missing as usual, yet moussi gets picked out again.
nobody other than the defence played well.

3.) Football is a matter of opinion ed. While moussi quite rightly got the plaudits he deserved for two excellent displays, he was by some distance the worst player on show last night. I don't think lascelles had a good game, how many times did davies beat him in the air? Lost count.

{Ed034's Note - it is about opinion and every fans opinion ive read, apart from yours, have said he was fantastic, the commentator has said he was fantastic, the pundits have said he was fantastic and every report where he was mentioned have said he was fantastic....you are right its a matter of opinion but your opinion is wrong

4.) Unbelievable post Jeff!

5.) The problem last night was that mousse had no outlet. With another defensive midfielder next to him. Mousse like many people playing deep plays best when he wins the ball and has other midfielder's ahead to either give the ball to or use as a foil.

6.) Come on all we are winning games with a few poor individual performances. When we are playing bad the poorer ones get shown up. Preston knew that putting pressure on Moussi would work in their favour, particularly since we were pinned back a lot. Remember the old Cloughie days where we knicked matches without playing well. My best memory was beating Arsenal 3 0 nil at home just after BC lower opened, but Arsenal should have murdered us. That defence was immense.

7.) Id say moussi is only getting picked out because it looks like we may have to rely on him to step into such a key position and therefore him having a bad game is more relevant than say, mackie not being great for the full 90 minutes. if moussi has two fantastic games and then a bad one, in his key position it will not be as good as having three average or good games-youve got to admit consistency is key in his position.

8.) How anybody can think Lascelles didn't play well baffles me.

9.) I personally think Collins was very poor last night. the sooner hobbs gets back the better

10.) Collins and moussi (and anyone else that people are moaning about) are all good championship players and great squad members - we are just very lucky that we have better players in our squad who would normally be chosen in front of them. injuries are a swine but i'm sure we'll cope, especially if we continue to support them!

11.) Opinions are neither right nor wrong, facts are right or wrong.

{Ed034's Note - ok, my opinion is that the grass at the city ground is red

12.) Ive watched moussi closely for the last two weeks yes he has been our best player but he is tackle shy and gets caught out with the ball to often for me and he doesn't challenge for the ball he stands off. to slow he is not a quick thinker we need someone who isn't affraid to get tackles in. always a reddddd.

13.) Lacelles was our best player from the game I watched. Were some of you guys playing on your Ex Bocks and confusing reality with the fantasy world

14.) And I thought it was blue and white.

15.) To some people, who are unlucky enough to be colour blind, it might be.

{Ed034's Note - is there such a thing of 'played well blindness'?

16.) Mackie best player. Lascelles played well. As did Moussi. If your going to slate a central midfielder, it would be Jara surely as he wasn't as good. Not a great team performance but we did enough.

Farwaz stating we are in negotiations with 4-5 players and will choose 2-3, wonder who. Really believed 1 was Fryatt but it's gone quiet on Fryatt :-)
Any guesses as to the 5 and no whits, prats or wes!

Red Diva

1.) He said the list was 4-5 and we will choose 2 or three.

DF will have been in place for weeks; I suspect he was expecting to be in post Derby game but for the unexpected result. Sad SP not given time but DF not the answer to poor results. However, who else would take on the club with 6 (?) managers since 2112 and in the middle of an embargo?
SP deserved better treatment than someone in place within an hour. Farwaz, shoddy treatment of a legend and suspect he will tell you where to stick your other role in the club. He and I bleed red. Loyalty and respect needed Farwaz. If I was you, I'd have spent my money on a class, proven No2 and kept SP in place.

I suspect it's desperation to get an affordable and proven creative player in to supply the forwards. Each time Reid gets injured we get into a cycle of drawing-or, last season, losing. We can't afford to depend so much on one player-especially at his age. Who else is out there?

Psycho did say Henri wants PL football though so.
He also said he wants him to have it, just with a tree on his chest. God, I love that man. Swoon. Hero. God.

You have to love Fawaz; at least he listens to the fans. Let's face it, he could do what he wants and just call it something like the Kuwait Stadium but the fact he cleverly retains City Ground and has word play on Kuwait City to please the backers is a win win. Could've been like Cardiff and turned us Blue if he fancied it so I think ewe're very lucky that the inevitable naming is so agreeable to all.
