Just looked at the first team squad for last years Arsenal cup game compared to yesterdays Chelsea cup game. Of the 27 man squad,19 have gone or out on loan.
Massive amount of work done by AK and for a reasonable amount of money.
This 20-25 million having been spent isn't bad in replacing so many . Especially half of it on one player.
AK has had to pick up bargains to fill places and make up numbers all be it better than we had.

League table last year we were 14th on 32 points, goal diff -9

now 7th on 39 points, goal diff +10
. I think we are making progress not spectacular but progress.

Personally I think we have made a major step forward and progression.

With those 2 silly home losses to QPR etc and the draw @ Norwich we could be 6 to 8 points better off.

A few tiny adjustments and the rub of the green and who knows.

But compared to the Last bunch of seasons near the bottom of the table - I believe AK is taking this club in the right direction.

We probably are not ready for promotion but a play off place would be a remarkable achievement in my humble opinion.

Meaty - good post although I’m sure warburton would say say he could have easily had another 8 points - they were the fine margins he spoke of.

One Area of progress I can see is the 5 points over Xmas , whilst still pathetic it’s less pathetic than recent seasons .

Arsenal game 12 months ago was packed with academy players. If memory serves me right about 7 in total.
Under AK the academy has been binned and a lot of money spent. Some very poor signings as well.
We have progressed but in a disproportionate way in comparison to amount spent.

No home game for two weeks, no midweek games. Window open, owner present yesterday. Next week crucial to AK future whether we agree or not.

I agree it’s crucial to his future. I don’t believe that the team should have consisted of Worrall, Brereton, Cash, McKay, Cummings, Smith, dowell Walker and clough as they just weren’t up to it, all ok prospects but not good enough to make up a large % of a championship team. I think AK has got it right persevering with cash. Grant won’t make it, Yates - can’t comment on him but I suspect not.

I wouldn’t have brought 5 season tickets personally had I have felt the club would continue to play so many academy players and youngsters on Ioan from other clubs.

I do agree though that the progress for the money spent is disproportionate and probably not sufficent - I think that’s a very fair point.

I'd much prefer to have Smith in goal to pants,Worrall instead of heffle,He's wasted money on Watson, soudani,Heff, pants and the likes of janco goncalves Dias ansafarad are not as good as players he's released.
Time has come to buy quality not quantity and for no more Greek gifts from olympiacos.
