I never trust newspapers having worked on one some time ago. The Sun says the shipping magnate who owns Olympiakos in Greece is interested in buying Forest. Evangelos Marinakis. Almost as bad as the daft rumours about any new manager, but hey, let's throw it in the pot. (Ships? I see no ships! )

I bet there was the same disbelief when we were linked with a kuwaiti billionaire so who knows?

Fawaz is no billionaire.

I would not mind having £1,000 less in the bank than our owner.

Seems like a nice charitable fella but has some clouds hanging over him for match fixing and bribing judges. Also accused of supporting golden dawn.

He must be aware of Fawaz after we paid good money for a couple of useless Algerians. lol
Hope we appeal to his philanthropic side and he wants to redress the situation after the great Algerian footballer robbery.

Maybe we'll get some of Olympiakos's players in return?
Said to be worth £750 million but that's a step forward from where we are now.

ording to the Sun, Olympiakos owner Vaggelis Marinakis is considering to make a move for the purchase of Nottingham Forest.

The Sun believes that Nottingham Forest will soon change ownership and it reports that Marinakis is the man who wants to complete the takeover.

However, Olympiakos rubbished the report by stating that: “It's a nonsense that mr Marinakis is linked with the english club, ” .

Laocoon the priest in Virgils Aeanid said it, but he was not believed, and look what happened, so we had better be careful what we wish for🏇.

Tommorrow,

It matters not how much the owner has if he isn't wiling to put it in?
If you'd of done your research you'd see that plenty of money has been invested in Olympiakos and they've been winning the league every year.

Fawaz's real investment stands at about 15 million quid in five years if you count the £30 million quid he has had out of the club in a bank loan. Add £15 million in player sales and you have £45 million quid of the 63 million he reckons he's spent for a start.

What a difference a good owner makes.

Oh and as for that £1000 quid you wish you were behind Fawaz. You are now a good couple of thousand quid behind him if you've been buying a season ticket since he's been owner.

What a shame you're buying a billionaire a football club through his loan agreements borrowed against the club.
But don't forget to get your tickets for the Fawaz love train.

The money you pay in loan principal and interest go against the losses of the club. That's a good few million off the clubs total profit every year before a ball is kicked and you are paying for it at the turnstile.
When will you realise this?
The money is then written as a loss. Fawaz puts it in the loss column lends the club the money to keep running and gets you to buy a football club whilst he stands around like to saviour.
When all is told you buy him a football club and he stands there waiting for this supposed £70 million quid he's owed.

You're getting robbed and can't see it.

Choo Choo!

I may be being robbed of entertainment, but we are called fans, and supporter's because we pay to watch.

I do not think the owner is all that, but as someone said the Greek club is similar to Celtic in they are almost guaranteed to win their league.

If did my research you would not be able to banter with me.

Well Mr M like all the Greek shipping magnates need to get as much capital out of Greece before they are forced to cough up a bigger share of taxes. Therefore an English football tax offset is a logical target for this guy?

At least his CV suggests he has actually built on the empire legacy left to him as well as actually running a top European football club even if he ends up buying Fawaz loan book to rack up more debt on the club balance sheet to secure some pocket money for his day to day living expenses?

Seems to like Portugeezers in the managers chair so expect Jose to sign up for "THE REDS" and not that small club in Salford!

Onward but not necessarily upward!
