Apparently Forest are poised to sign Todd Kane on loan from Chelsea. A highly rated 21 year old versatile full back who has recently had a loan spell with Bristol City.

Don't know anything about him but do fans think we need an experienced loanee or two rather than inexperienced ones. Just think a couple of older heads might sort us out better.

He has played 41 games on loan at Blackburn, so very experienced in the Championship and has also been on loan at Preston and Bristol City.

I saw him play a couple of times for Blackburn last season and once for Bristol this season. He will offer us more defensive stability which is encouraging.

Personally, I felt our best period this season was when Hunt was on the right and Lichaj was deployed on the left. With Kane able to play either role himself, I think it is a smart move.

Oh and Harding was on 11k per week and Kane will cost us less than 5k per week so it make fantastic business sense.

This is a done deal and he will join tomorrow. I am not normally ITK but I can confirm this. Someone on here said he would offer us defensive stability but he is more of an attacking RB. He has also been playing CM at Bristol. Won't play there for us but suggests good qualities.

Just to clarify, I said defensive stability not solidity. i. e. a consistant and reliable back 4. Lichaj can move over to left back replacing the awful Danny Fox. Hobbs and Mancienne can reform the strong partnership they had at the start of the season and Todd is a great replacement for Hunt as they play in a similar style.

I think this is the makings of a very strong back 4 if they can all stay fit and work well together.
