Just re watched the entire Coventry game on Forest TV ( I'm a glutton for punishment I know). I make the following observations.
Firstly, like the Leeds defeat, a draw would have been a fair result. Before anyone jumps on my back, Coventry ( at the moment) are much better than their league position before kick off suggests. They are organized, motivated, work incredibly hard for each other and, crucially, believe in Lampard. On the back of a 5 nil drubbing and previous results that's shows durability and good morale. It could change of course, but they don't look like last years no hopers Wolves.
Secondly, for their goal, Munoz seemed to lose the flight of the ball. I wonder if his mask ( ever so slightly) restricts his field of vision and the ball over his shoulder was in a blind spot?
Thirdly, Diomande didn't do him any favours by covering for Munoz.

When the ball was in the air, he was jogging and he was still jogging and out of position when the ball hit the back of the net. Slack imo
Lastly, Diomande looked like he was blowing out of ass on the hour mark. He's way below the required fitness level. Likewise, Murillo although he's further on than Diomande, Munoz likewise. Schlager looked like he'd played in the Premiership all his career. Ran and scrapped like a dog from first minute to last.
Tactically, OG is asking a lot from his wing backs. Yet,he doesn't change them, if at all, until the last knockings. Which is a shame, because Netz and Aina are just as good imo.

As a footnote, it's not as though the goalkeepers astute hoof was sudden. He had it lined up for ages before he launched it. Our defenders had plenty of time to get set.

Good post stokie, i'm still a long way short of being convinced by Diomande, hopefully milenkovic will be fit for the return. The Cov result/performance was very disappointing but the game against Villa,especially the second half showed what we are capable of, or have i got my rose tinted spectacles on again? Whatever its lovely here in southern Spain.
