I find it distatefull the slagging off of Chris Wood. Ok I might question some performances and selections but the insults are unnecessary. Remember he's a Forest player who scored a wonderful goal against Manchester city. A trade mark goal. The service he has had has been woeful and he proved that given the service he will be on the end of it. The fact the service is woeful could be down to the way we play and if he was an injury doubt then cooper should have kept him here not releasing him for international duty. Used t be an unwritten rule that if you didn't play for your club then you couldn't play for country. Wood injury was a serious one, his thigh had swollen which had serious implications. Same with with niakhate, already released when injured for international duty came back on crutches and then after 6 months out and one match back he is released. Now that is madness particularly with our injured threadbare squad.

Rutlland I normally agree with your point of view but in the case of Chris Wood I have to differ

At this stage in his career he is Championship standard as best and along with Ayew was a panic buy imo

Surridge better in every dept imo and can’t get a kick.

I think you forget what you write half the time. The truth is you pumped up his signing calling him sublime and he has failed thus far, not to say he can't come good next season.

He scored a valuable goal against City, yes, but I have never heard a 2 yard tap in described as wonderful.

Ginger u need to be in the right place at the right time with the right service some times we get it right but a lot of time we don't even get into the other opponents box I can understand defensive tactics and counter attacking play against top 6 teams but just lately were doing against every team you just can't expect to give another team 70 percent possession and hope the other team don't score with it that's why we hardly score over 2 goals in a game not enough possession and that's why our strikers are not scoring enough needs to change tmoz it's only Cooper that can do that his jobs in his is own hands as his our Relegation back to the championship so let's hope he changes.

Rutland my guess is there will be a clause in woods contract saying he must be released by the club, for international duty.

Sorry Rutters but this time i have to disagree, Wood is gash mate. Past his sell by date and not good enough for the Prem. A panic buy in my opinion and to trigger that clause of an obligation to buy if he played 3 games is madness. £15 million! I’ll say it again, £15 million! Unbelievable. He’s featured in a handful of games and is now out for the season on £100k a week for one goal. Amazing. The Geordies proper had our pants down with this one. And the “wonderful goal” was a tap in from a wonderful move. I hope that Eeyore is out for the season aswell cus they are both crap and it might just give Surridge a chance who is by far a better all round player and a better finisher than those over the hill pair.

Perco lots of the players brought in were strange both by the timing and quality. I called the goal wonderful because of the flowing move and the dismantling of the city defence. You need someone to time his run and bury the chance. As for FIFA rules about international call ups, Wood was injured and therefore the club had the right to retain him. 3 or 4 dropped out of the England squad.

Nonsense Rutland. The country can insist a player is checked out by their medical staff. Clubs cannot refuse to send a player, they can only advise the national team they are not fit for selection. It is then up to the nation to decide to call them up or not.
