A friend of mine just text me and said we were looking to bring in Given from Aston Villa on loan for the season as No1, if the deal for Darlow goes through. If this is true then maybe this could be a good thing as the amount of experience he would bring at the back would be a massive bonus. Still sad to see Darlow go tho, not so bothered about JL as I think we have more than enough cover for him. Also when Hobbs and Wilson are fit he wouldn't get a game anyway.

Could be true, given would be a great loan for season, but I think butland is more likely

Wilson is never fit. he's fit for about 2-3 games then he gets an injury

But as Lincoln Rob said why would we need to loan another keeper when Darlow is staying with us on loan for the season

Even if Darlow doesn't come back on loan or we don't get butland or given on loan we seem to forget that we have de vries who comes with bags of experience, also an Hungarian intenational keeper in etimov

De Vries is the most injury prone keeper I think i've seen, and Evtimov (Bulgarian btw) won't be the answer

I think Evtimov is Bulgarian. And is rated as highly as Darlow. I know we looked at Butland but with Darlow coming back on loan I can't see another keeper being signed.

{Ed034's Note - he is at least two seasons behind darlow.

Wouldn't fancy Given at all. He's seen better days, he looks old and well past his best, imo.

He was always glued to his line at his peak and with his legs now gone I think I'd think feel safer with a road cone in goal.

Agree with the road cones analogy but John Major endeavoured to get rid of them however they still keep reappearing.
