50 years to the day that Cloughie was appointed. RIP to the man who ( with Mr Taylor) changed our club forever. ????.

All praise to the old Forest committee men also who had the courage and foresight to appoint him knowing his fallouts with the hierarchies at Derby and Leeds.
It’s one of the few brilliant decisions ever made by a committee ever. The only other one I can bring to mind is the translation and publication of the wonderful and iconic King James Bible in 1611.

I was lucky to be following Forest in the Clough era and even though it was a long time ago I can still remember my first game at the City Ground in 1978 at the Bridgeford end. It was against Wolves…. and Shilton made a wonderful save from Hibbet before we went on to win. It’s as if it was yesterday, ball flying into the top corner before a flying Shilton pushed it round the post, was worth the admission fee alone. Clough and Taylor built an aura of invincibility, the last couple of months Nuno has started to build a similar belief. As he keeps saying we’ve won nothing yet, but it’s great to be in contention again.

I was 8 years old when Sir Brian arrived, I remember my dad being thrilled. In the beginning, I remember thinking what all the fuss was about. Results weren't great and he went and sold my favourite player, George Lyall. I count myself lucky I am old enough to have seen the miracle that followed. Even after the miracle men Clough put together good teams that won us more league cups. Only the FA Cup missing. Never be seen again.
