Ole Big 'Eds birthday today, and it got me thinking: what is your favourite Cloughie quote?
Ed, bet you've got one or two?

{Ed001's Note - I just remember him on a TV show being asked what he would have done if Keane had stamped on someone while playing for him, as Roy Keane had just been sent off that week for a stamp. Clough just said he wouldn't have done it if he played for me. And that was the end of the discussion.}

When players had a complaint he (Clough) would discuss it with the player fo 20 minutes then the player would agree he Clough as right.

Lol awesome. He certainly had a way with words. I remember him being asked something along the lines of 'how did you manage to win that game? ' And he replied with something like 'we scored more goals than they did' lol.

Taylor to Clough;
"I hear Trevor Brooking might be available, he floats like a butterfly down that left wing ya know"

Clough to Taylor;
"Yeh. he stings like one too"

{Ed007's Note - "I wouldn't say I was the best manager in the business. But I was in the top one."

I think his exact reply was,
"We put the ball in their net 3 times, they didn't put it in ours. I think that makes us the winners. " Class.
