I was 12 years old and it was my first away match with my mates my grandma had sewn a large NNFC into the back of my wrangler jacket which when they invaded the pitch I had to unpick which took forever , never been so terrified in my life the police were useless and didn't want to know, they hunted down Forest fans and were beating them, we ended up at central station and got on the first train out of there I didn't get home until the next morning and my parents said they would never let me go again but I did and went to Goodison twice for the replays, I wonder how many on here can remember why we went to Goodison twice? .

Bowie, I once heard a Professor of Old English literature read 2 old English poems “The Dream of the Rood “ and “The Battle of Maldon “ as they would have sounded when they were written in the 900 s around 150 years before the Norman Conquest and they sounded distinctly Geordie. I remarked on this to him afterwards and he said Geordie is the nearest dialect to Old English there is. So, Geordie is an ancient tongue and a proud heritage mate!
