So yet again Forest have turned out to be one last big pay day for a player. Glen Murray has retired. 😡.

Glenn Murray was under contract before he came to Forest. He would have been paid the same even if he hadn't come to Forest. He came to play football and help his mate Hughton by providing cover for Grabban when he was injured.

Murray didn't get any extra money for coming to Forest. We needed cover and he came to play rather than get paid for doing nothing at another club.

We did enough to stay up. Murray and Knockaert useful to that end, no more. Big summer in the transfer market needed to push for promotion. Total overhaul of forward department needed. Grabban and Taylor won't cut it.

All this talk about signing young hungry players and getting a few more from acadamy to play is making me smile.
They wouldn't be given the time to get experience and would be slated by fans for making mistakes, being inexperienced and probably going missing in games and just not being good enough. Look at Yates, Mighten, and Gardner all receiving their fair share of negative press, in Gardners case after he boosted our survival chances no end at the tender age of 18.

Trentender you do not seem to understand, not every football fan is the same.

There are some fans that expect a young player to be a top Championship player in his first season and others that are willing to wait for a young player to develop.

Some fans want all experienced players so hoping for instant promotion while others want a team of young players with some experienced players to guide them.

I fall into the latter.

No i don’t because Walker isn’t Murray . We needed a player who can play with his back to goal . Murray has a very distinct style of play which I think at times gave us a different outlet, Walker is more like Taylor and i wouldn’t take Taylor over Walker . Walker, and the younger versions of Murray and grabban would be a nice blend to choose from though!
