This close season looks the most farcical yet. I’m guessing O neil got the push because he didn’t agree with the DOF player proposals.

Generally history gives a decent indicator of what might happen in the future. No need to elaborate on that is there?

I hope I’m wrong and will be very glad to be it will be amazing if this comes off but I doubt it will. I genuinely don’t believe we will do any better than O Neil would have done this season even with the squad of players we ended last season with . If that transpires what has the point of this experiment been? Have we not tested these ingredients many times before only to find it provides no cure for our long term illness?

So we play WBA on sat, a time we held our own against twice (under to managers sacked for not being good enough) . Ok - yes I understand, it’s a new squad and manager and it’s going to take time isn’t it?

Well if we lose on Saturday, I'm sure the doom and gloomers of this forum will take great pleasure in telling us all how useless the side are and how we're destined for league 1 after just the first game of the season against a very good West Brom side. Let's hope the players don't share the same defeatist attitude as yourself 2star before the ball has even been kicked.

Gazza we drew both games with them last season under two different managers and should have beaten them.
They have lost Gayle and Rodriguez so there for they are weaker than last season, so if the players we've signed are an upgrade we should ar least avoid defeat.

For the record I hope we win and hope we have a great season, but yes I’ll be moaning if the unnecessary overall has made us a weakened championship side. If you can give me one good reason why that’s not an acceptable stance then I’m all ears.

Nothing wrong with that 2star but using words like farcical and long term illness before a ball has been kicked is quite negative don't you think? I wouldn't call it an overhaul, maybe we should have stuck with the likes of Murphy, Pants, Osborn and co to take us forward?

Instead of focusing on why we won't do well please can someone explain to me who has a squad that is equipped to do better than they did last season and which of the relegated teams are any better than the rest in this division?

Whatever you think of the signings we have a stronger squad than last season so the only question is whether our coach is better than who we had before?

All we can be sure of is that he delivers his message to fans very clearly so for me the players have no excuse but to play better?

I see your point but will stand by mine. The words are just words. We keep trying the same thing to achieve our goals, each time we do we get the same result because we keep doing the same thing. Let’s hope we compete as well are better than last season because if we don’t think a large amount of the fans will be annoyed by it.

The squad is not better red.
We have even less players with championship experience than we had before and two rookie strikers a rookie right back a rookie goalkeeper, only adhoma brings in a a bit of championship quality the rest are a gamble and then they have to knit together sharpish or it's a quick return to France for the coach.
Only time will tell but that's something mr Lamouchi won't get if results aren't instant.

We've lost Osborn and Colback for Adomah and Ameobi as far as Championship experience is concerned. Plus we have added some quality and power in midfield with Dawson fit and Worrall back.

You don't rate Pants Osborn or on occasions Colback so we've replaced them and Cash and Carvalho are another year older. In my book that's a stronger squad overall?

Cheer up Victor. WBA have got to integrate more players into their starting positions than us and Leeds will likely lose a few more players before we play them!

We will beat WBA on Saturday and get a result at Elland Road.

Completely agree with you Red. Not just WBA but several others such as the Sheep have lost players and not replaced them due to loans going home or selling best players.
We lost Osbourn but Ribeiro is better at left back for sure and Semedo and Ameobi certainly are potentially as good. Colback looked like a loss but Samba Sow is a beast and I think he will show that to fans who haven’t seen him but are quick to judge.
We needed fire power and I think Uncle Albert and Silva can help to create and score though I would still like to see another striker join.
In general though I think our squad is better than it was and we have a manager now who likes to attack more and I feel many teams in this league are weaker than last year!
We still have time to get players in and out. Squad numbers don’t really mean anything!
