Hughton? Sack? Team who finished one point outside play-offs to nowhere? Hmmmm?

No, let's stick with boring and no hope of promotion shall we?

Well we weren't one point outside play-offs when he took over, hardly his fault but you blame away:)

Ginger it does not matter if you want the manager to stay, or to go, i can see good reasoning behind both cases.

RedCyclists point about Forest losing out on the play offs is a fact.

The club decided to stick with the manager that achieved that, that was commendable.

Some new players were brought in which in theory means the club strengthened the team.

The manager with most of the original team that he had gotten to within a point of the play offs, and with the new players for some reason lost the first five games.

The club then brought in a proven manager at Championship level having gotten at least two clubs promoted from the Championship.

The new manager has had thirty three league games, and some more players to improve the team yet he still has Forest near the relegation places.

I think Forest will be safe from relegation but i think it is fair to say with all of the above being taken into consideration Forest should be higher than they are, even if you did not expect them to be in the play offs.

You can blame the owner, and those he has employed, which is only fair but in order to do that you have to say something negative, which you do not like to see.

The manager though has to take some of the blame for not having gotten the squad to do better than they have so far.

I'll make a prediction Ginger. If he is sacked the team will do better and be more entertaining. Young players will get more game time.

I could be wrong. However, the evidence is that this manager (or his system and training methods) is not getting enough from the players and is doing worse than last season.

Some fans would take boring football if we were actually contenders. We aren't. We have made a few poor recruitment choices. I'd argue a lot of the errors were signing too many players who haven't played much football last season. We all know if you aren't match hardened then you are likely to take time to get fit and may get injured and be out. Think Artur, Colback, Freeman. Three decent players who have played little footy last season and are injured constantly and weren't ready for the new season.

Having said that the boss has had little impact apart from developing a player for Man United who may now not lend him to us next season as he is potentially ready to play at a higher level. What else has Hughton achieved apart from boring us to death and playing loan-players and blocking the progress of our home-grown players?

We should have recalled Brennan Johnson and played Mighten and him regularly to assess their ability AT THIS LEVEL and prepare them for the next season. Instead, we play Krovinovic and Fatty Freeman when we could have young hungry players learning to compete at this level. Yes they would have made mistakes but we won't go down or up this season. You learn from mistakes not from sitting on the bench or playing in a division below your level (in the case or Jordan Gabriel and Brennan Johnson) .

I hate changing bosses a lot. But no progress is pointless. I reckon the owner will be considering making a change if there is no improvement very soon!

Oh, and I didn't even mention Mbe Soh! He could be getting used to English Championship level. Instead, he is bench warming even when Worrall or McKenna are out injured.

And Taylor has been treated appallingly. Grabban has been next to useless and the boss started with a 37-year-old twice a week ahead of Taylor. That is how to completely destroy a player's confidence.

Bad management? You tell me!

Red cyclist i hear your point re taylor etc. And i totally agree with your sentiments. But let's look closely at why hughton plays certsin players. When he was brought in the club were in freefall. A huge squad where you could hardly see the wood from the trees. Firstly he had to halt the slide, in any fashion. He had to get the confidence back as this slide started around the c.v. time. Hit by continuing injuries another slide emerged after the initial burst of positvity. We learned of discontent and near anarchy in the squad. So in hughtons self defence he had to pick players on trust, not so much ability or past glories it had to be players he could put faith in. Style and flair would maybe sacrificied for a player that would listen and put in a shift. This largely has worked and given us hope of staying in this league. Lyle Taylor aside is a mysyery. Maybe it was his voice against the awful knee that has backfired but it shouldnt. At present i would have him in from the start and mighten too. Their time will come of that i am sure, as soon as survival is acheived. We could try and play like wycombe but a balance has to be struck.
