It doesn't seem to matter which defenders play, the result is still the same, no organisation and chaotic defending. Simply bringing in another CB would not have solved our problems. It's something that can only be put right by the manager and his coaching staff. Deciding whether we go with a back 5 or back 4 and then sticking to it week in week out would be a start, then drop zonal marking and going man to man marking should help at set pieces.

The leadership qualities of Lichaj should make him a regular in the team and I fail to see what Darwikra has done to keep last year's player of the season out of the team. You would think David Weir should know how to set up a defence. At least the Matt Mills haters can't blame him for yesterday!

I think a vocal cb to pull other 3 into place and take charge would make a world of difference

You are so right but been saying it all along, good luck with the response.

I understand the reasoning behind playing the ball out from the back (If you hoof it then the vast majority of the time the ball goes to the opposition) but can we just play it forward quicker from the back in the same way that Liverpool do? 3 passes out and the ball should not be near the Penalty Area it should be near the half way line (unless we are playing against Beckham then it is doubtful that the opponents can shoot from there)

We have to be able to mix the way we play, yes playing from the back and possession football is easy on the eye but not if we lose the ball and concede goals. As a defender, if in doubt get it out, better decision making against Leeds and S.Weds may have yielded an extra point or two. I agree about moving the ball quicker too, the longer we take the more time the opposition has to arrange their defence. Problem for Smith is this exposes his poor distribution, time to take him out of the firing line and give us the option of breaking quickly. This style would suit away games and against the better sides at home, just a realistic opinion based on our mid table expectations? FTID

we don't look well drilled to me, set peices need to be drilled and drilled, and for me need to start marking more man to man instead of more zonal.

beyond me why a steady defender lichaj isn't starting, darikwa a liability to me.

I'd like to see this defence given time to gel
Licha Manchienne Hobbs/worrell troare
Hobbs if he's fit. Then Vaughen bridgcutt holding
With Mackey dowel osbourn. And Murphy upfront.

Playing the ball out the way we do, which is giving it to the first defender is suicide. That defender should then knock it it deep into midfield. No we lass it sideways which allows the opposition to get at us causing nervousness. Playing it long to a decent striker ie murphy or velios allows the defence tobpysh up and get bsck in formation. Simples. If the ball does come straight back we shouldbe organised to deal with it. Playing it out from the back is pk in the prem where the opposition strikers will back off. not in this league.

Rr1. The longer you pass the ball the more likely it is to be intercepted, or for it to go astray. A player should run then pass, then move again, and off course a players pass needs to be accurate.

Abf correct but we gave possesion to weds in dreadful areas which led to goals. Listen. Pearce would often take the ball from sutton, webb ot hodge would show for him and an early accurate pass from pearce would get us moving forward. Not this pish from sat where the ball was nervously batted about with no conviction. Play to your strengths. Fox worral and darikwa were terrified in posession.

We certainly need to sort out the back. I personally think Darikwa is a decent solid back, i can remember the beginning of the last two seasons fans saying Lichaj was a liability when we were leaking goals. Keep Darikwa on the right, Lichaj can play on the right with Mancienne and another in the middle, Worral or Fox.

Ooops, I meant Lichaj can play on the left!
