IF and it's a big IF Awoniyi can be turned round attitude and confidence wise we don't need to sign another striker imo

With Sangare and Danilo back it's like having two new players in the engine room

Great togetherness in the squad don't let's spoil it by signing a possible rotten apple.

Believable4 0Unbelievable

02 Feb 2025 18:43:24
We still do. If either striker gets injured we won't have an option on the bench. And Awoniyi yet to show enough to warrant a start.

I'm hearing rumours we've re signed Sam Surridge? Anybody else heard this or is it a windup?
I thought he did well for us by the way.

Right now I'd take him over Taiwo and if Everton are serious about taking him off us its got to be win win.

Heard from a good source 2 imminent signings Douglas Luis loan obligation to buy and Wissa permenant deal.

That would set us up nicely for a top 6 finish imo.

31 Jan 2025 19:41:50
That would be an excellent boost Munmad, especially as Wissa can play winger and centre forward with the injury to CHO and wear and tear on Woody! šŸ‘.

Iā€™d be happy with them two MUNMAD.

No 9 might be available this window in the Chris Wood mode Jean Mateta from Palace big strong physical good in the air

A natural target man not a winger no 10 or an AM does exactly what it says on the tin!

Now we're talking, Forest linked with Matheus Cunha from Wolves! Brilliant player! Get him in!

I just don't see this happening. Ambition we have by the boat load but with money we have to stay under the rules that have bitten our rear end before.
We won't spend 80 million and even if they lower the asking price by a few mill it's dangerous for us to flirt with.
We're still a club that has to play with 20-25 million as top price. The players we hope to sell off this January, wouldn't bring in that type of money and to be fair, how many clubs are lining up for our cast offs?
Nice fantasy but I fear it's just that.

Agree4 0Disagree

22 Jan 2025 13:48:01
He is a top player, improves our starting eleven, can play any attacking position. If the big boss thinks we can go for it, why not. When he first bought Forest, he questioned the fans ambition. Let's all enjoy the Evangelos ride.

It would be a great coup but the last hing we need is to risk any ffp backlash given our current position. We need to add in a way that gives us some depth for the rest of the season. What about the Feyenoord striker?

Agree0 0Disagree

23 Jan 2025 16:02:29
Yep, Iā€™d take Giminez SYD, scored a brace against Bayern last night and is a consistent goal scorer. Wouldnā€™t upset the dressing room too much either and at a reasonable price for his goal scoring talents. I know he turned us down 3 times in the summer but i wouldnā€™t hold a grudge against him for that, to be fair we were premier league strugglers at that time but now we are flying and a more appealing option. Time will tell as to who we bring in this transfer window but i do think we need another striker in as if Wood picks up an injury then we are knackered as Awoniyi isnā€™t the answer. Heā€™s well off the boil and showing us the clumsy oaf that i always thought he was/ is. I wouldnā€™t be paying more than weā€™ve offered for Wissa either as heā€™s 28. Cunha is definitely a talent so we will have to wait and see what happens. Either way i reckon we will need to get a bit of quality over the line before the window slams shut.

Giminez agreed terms with Milan. Now club have to agree with Feyenoord which is likely to be a bit more difficult. I just hope we don't end up without Cunha or Wissa and end up like the summer when we were left short as moves for Giminez and Marmoush failed.

25 Jan 2025 10:44:55
Perko, spot on. Taiwo isn't the same player he was 2 years ago. Always grateful for serving a purpose but we need a point of difference up front. Preferably one with pace and finishing. West ham pulled off a bloody coup with thier latest signing.

25 Jan 2025 14:34:45
No panic buying please, if a striker that makes us stronger isn't available, don't buy. Wait until the summer.

Nottingham Forest make Wolves striker Matheus Cunha their top January target.

West Ham are apparently interested in Taiwo and we are lining up Brentfords Yoane Wissa to replace him. Thoughts? Wissa would be fantastic imo.

Believable6 0Unbelievable

18 Jan 2025 09:13:48
If we can recoup the money for Taiwo then we should snap their hands off. We all like Taiwo, what's not to like about the big guy? but this is business and let's face it, he's made of glass and will never give us a full productive season.

Pleasing result today considering 11 changes from the team that started against Wolves

Only Wood CHO Elanga and Dominguez got minutes today so we should have a totally rested team against the scousers on Tuesday

Fancy us for a win against Liverpool 2-1 Hudson Odoi and Milenkovic.

I hope you are right Scouse mate. I fear that we might struggle with our small squad of genuine quality players if we get a few injuries or suspensions, particularly key players like MGW, Woody, Mikenkovic and ( i'm keeping my fingers crossed) Murillo. I hope Iā€™m wrong thoughā€¦.

Reading now that Santiago Gimenez now is open to joining Forest in January! That's very big of him! His reasons for messing us about in the summer was he didn't want to join a team facing a relegation battle! Says everything about the man's character imo

Move on Forest the man lacks character imo.

Believable11 0Unbelievable

20 Dec 2024 17:30:49
We could still be a relegation fight. If Anderson gets injured or we play like we did against Man City then who knows what could happen.

Its a tight league league this season and until we get to 40 points we cannot take our foot off the gas.

The character speaks volumes, should stay clear.

The guy earned the right to play for his current team in the Champions league, and if it were me I wouldn't have moved to any club not just Forest, if I've earned that right. Also there is not a fan here who expected our club to have progressed as quickly as they have, never mind players from all over Europe. Nobody here can say we don't need a goalscorer and lord knows they guy scores for fun. I'd welcome him with open arms to the CG. This is a business, lots of money involved. People are allowed to have a change of heart but maybe many here have never changed their minds over anything.

Good post Targa, though of course character and personality are inportant as well as football skill. We don t want any big time Charlies in our well motivated, tight knit squad. It only takes one bad appleā€¦. but at the end of the day itā€™s a business and we trust our excellent recruitment team to do a job mate.

Arumour going round is that Liverpool want Forest target, Omar Marmoush.

Marmoush has 9 goals and 6 assists in the Bundesliga this season. Can we still land him in the summer window with the promise of first team football?

Kelleher was the subject of a large bid from us apparently.
If it had been accepted it would have taken the cost of trying to replicate Samba seem absolutely outrageous.
Big fees spent, loan fees and huge wages trying to replace a man who should have been kept at all costs.
I, ll always wonder who was behind this decision, it definitely wasnā€™t Samba.
CARLO.

Nuno will be gone after we play Liverpool and Brighton
No plan B
Two wingers and two fullbacks not getting delivery in but can't see it
Williams made so many mistakes it's unbelievable he keeps picking him
Goalkeeper useless
Now we have ward prowse a winger has to be sacrificed or nuno is toast.

The negative posters need to look I'm the barroom mirror Nuno yes had a headache who to bring in but surely that's a good headache to have and that's why he's there, he kept us up and so far unbeaten give him and the new players a chance. well that's my opinion just Jesterimg šŸ¤”šŸ¤”šŸ¤”.

DTP I am with you I am afraid, atm. Your point re Williams and Ania negating the need for HO and Elanga. These latter two not heading for the line to centre to Wood but cutting inside, is loosing us chances and therefore matches.

Sanghera cannot be any better than OBrien, yet he stays the other goes. Jota and Sosa have energy, as does Yates. Jota and Yates were all over. Sadly, it was in 90 mins when Jota and Sosa were brought on. Where was Morena?

The style of Nuno play is identical to last season. We were so lucky that 3 teams were poorer than ours. Surely all fans, Big M included, hope for a better season ie a mid table finish. I cannot presently see that happening.

Folks on this site see the issues. We are armchair critics with very little knowledge, only watching players and noting positive and negatives. However, these points are made as we want our team to do well.

Nuno is being given a chance, but with the current second and third teams next away, it is likely we will gain no more points and then Fulham. This season we have a much better and more skillful squad. Letā€™s hope Nuno sees what we see and didnā€™t think on Saturday we could win. So therefore, he played a defensive hand. We need a manager who looks forward not backward all the time.

02 Sep 2024 22:24:12
Doc, I think you are dealing with symantec's when you say 3 teams poorer than ours, or is it our team better than theirs?

You can paint it how you want, is the rest of the league poorer than City, yes, what a negative way to view things though, doesn't make everyone else shite.

Not sure what Sels could have done about the goal, he's been pretty solid for us to be fair, if he makes a clanger then Miguel will come in.

Sangare is heads and shoulders better than O'Brien, he hasn't ripped up any trees since leaving us, not sure how he keeps popping up, championship player is all.

We've had a decent start to be fair, I know we have harder games to come but jeez, we haven't been played off the park or beat yet.

Agree8 3Disagree

03 Sep 2024 19:43:23
I don't think nuno's job is in any danger currently. He has a better squad than he did last year as he actually got options now. He will get some things right but he will also get things wrong, so I see us finishing 14-15.

We get 3pts from next 3 games would be OK.

For Liverpool would go with a 4-3-2-1 to give us that bit extra in midfield. Get a draw there and would be happy. Brighton and Fulham are both winnable games if get tactics and substitutions right.

Agree6 3Disagree

03 Sep 2024 22:57:00
Brighton winnable?
Really?
Hope your right and you put a tenner on at what will be at least 4 to 1 odds
There's definitely a good side in our squad as there was last season to, but it's a usual 4 2 3 1
But for me more like 4 2 2 1 1
To much space between players and MGW doesn't get beyond wood to be the number ten most the time that will score
MGW has all the talent but doesn't score enough for me.

Agree6 3Disagree

04 Sep 2024 18:36:35
We play the other 19 teams twice. When we play them is largely irrelevant, although playing the perceived top 6 on the bounce could effect morale. Judging a season after 3-4 games seems a little nonsensical. If the doomers are still calling for Nuno's head in Dec, then let's see who's available. Maranakis is keen to tap into the Brazilian market, using Mendes. Having a Portuguese coach seems a logical step to me. In the words of Lance Corporal Jack Jones 'Don't Panic' - yet. FTID.
