After Warburton was sacked I straight away wanted Karanka as boss! How wrong I was! People say give him time it's only 5 games. Well he had a load of games last season and was awful then. We went 7 games without scoring! I thought give him the benefit of the doubt and give him 10 games this season.

Now he is selling Brereton! He's just showing how clueless he is and damaging our future. Hope this Blackburn deal has some clause that the new manager can cancel the deal come January! I know we want stability but this guy is a clown!

1.) 27 Aug 2018 11:18:58
I would hazard a guess transfers get sanctioned by the board and owners so are you now suggesting we are being poorly ran?

2.) 27 Aug 2018 11:20:22
Selling Brereton is a huge mistake. He has the attributes to become a top player. If it was just a loan deal to get him some game time I could accept it but it looks more and more likely that selling him to offset the 6m we spent on Grabban was the plan all along. In a couple of years I wonder whether it'll have looked a good deal or not?

3.) 27 Aug 2018 11:22:05
Agree. Brereton should be getting games for us. To see how he plays with better players around him. Baffled we are selling him so cheap should be at least 10m with sell on clause

4.) 27 Aug 2018 11:28:22
Well it'll be Karanka saying what players he wants and wants rid of! Burnley and Dyche thought Worrall was good en to offer 10 million but AK doesn't rate him. Brereton has been watched by premier league teams and tipped to go far but AK wants to sell. Karanka doesn't seem to like young plplayers does he, picked it up from Mourinho!

5.) 27 Aug 2018 12:53:07
Devils Advocate; He plays Cashy and Osborn. Only wants to loan Worrall and Yates for more experience.

6.) 27 Aug 2018 20:53:56
Didn’t want to see Brereton go but don’t think you can say he’s going on the cheap he's hardly proven anything yet at this level your only selling potential

7.) 27 Aug 2018 21:13:54
Is Ben Brereton going to fire us to promotion?
If so why has not Klopp snapped him up as predicted?

8.) 27 Aug 2018 21:25:24
Is anyone going to fire us to promotion?
Murphy and Grabban taking turns???🤔klopp? Salah Mane Fermino.
Your just being silly now🤩

9.) 27 Aug 2018 22:48:30
Well Ff799, if the goals dry up we can always rely on one from you as the master in the art of deflection!

The question was is Brereton going to fire us to promotion?

Clearly if he was as good as his hype Klopp would have followed through with his long standing interest and hoverd him up for the future you silly boy!

10.) 27 Aug 2018 23:25:11
Liverpool don't need to buy youngsters for the future there in the big time.abd buy the finished article albeit at an inflated price my dear boy🤔🤔

11.) 28 Aug 2018 00:29:02
Surely bottom half prem teams should be taking an interest at an England under 20 striker for 7 million? It's the loan to buy I don't get.We lose the player but can't spend the money until January. Why would you do that and to a rival? They had there chance before transfer deadline and failed.Sorry but I would leave the whole thing now til Jan.

12.) 28 Aug 2018 02:44:58
Depends who they bring in? Rudy Gestede?

Jermaine Defoe?

13.) 28 Aug 2018 06:12:55
Defo Perks - after all the progress we seemed have made in sensible dealings we seem to be regressing back to Bafoon like scattergun moments from the Fawaz days!

14.) 28 Aug 2018 08:15:21
Defoe?
No thanks.

15.) 28 Aug 2018 09:30:46
I would personally have taken Defoe over Grabban any day. 200-250k a week, i wasn't keen on us signing him initially. Defoe still puts a good shift in where Grabban just looks laboured.

16.) 28 Aug 2018 14:12:14
Ben scored 4 goals from open play in 38 games plus 2 penalties.
He’s a big lad but gets knocked off the ball easily
He can’t hold the ball up as a leader of the line ,it bounces off him too easily
He’s not got a burst of pace
He’s poor in the air for a big lad.
Yes he is young but. . should be contributing more .
6 to 8 million for someone who may , may not improve is a lot of money to pass up.
As someone has mentioned why aren’t clubs from the Premiere League coming in for him ??

17.) 29 Aug 2018 12:04:28
Totally agree with Woanisgod Karanka is a clown, all teams that have won a league, have a strike partnership not one up front. Krankie will be a goner by Christmas!

31 Jan 2018 12:06:49
Apparently we've bid 5 million Euros for Roma's Polish keeper Skorupski. hmmmm!

woanisgod

1.) 31 Jan 2018 13:04:26
So we can't afford to buy clayton but we can afford to buy a keeper. It will be a typical deadline day where we end up with 1 or no one.
We've been linked with Colback, Andy King, pantillimon, guedioura, clayton, skorupski, hult and more. We have a decent CB now but we also need a goalkeeper, work horses in midfield, someone to run at teams to commit there defence and a clinical forward. We have no money cause of ffp otherwise we will have another transfer ban

2.) 31 Jan 2018 13:45:53
Its not a keeper we need. Its protecting the keeper. Smith is ok. A keeper can only save the saveable. Smith js a decent shot stoppermaybe he is a littlle short for a top keeper. But mancs is the problem always has been. Eric is ok but not a great defender. He has agression but not developed to higher standard. Like many say we need soldiers not whimps.

3.) 31 Jan 2018 13:53:24
Why would we waste 4 plus million on a keeper. Smith would be ok if we had a defence in front of him.
Plenty other keepers we can bring in for a lot less.

18 Jul 2017 10:21:11
Brilliant signal of intent by our new owner! Selling our best player and most likely not reinvesting the money! Watch a load of dodgy loans/ free transfers come in. For once I was really optimistic heading into the new season but Marinakis is no better than Fawaz. Warburton is just going to sign players he managed in the mighty Scottish league and at Brentford all those years ago!

woanisgod

1.) 18 Jul 2017 10:33:02
Here we go.

2.) 18 Jul 2017 10:47:57
He had a £15m release clause. If it's met, nothing we can do about it. He wanted to go. Agent touting him around clubs. Nothing to do with the owners. Personally think £15m is a good deal. He's not played anywhere near a full season in years. Now let's sit back and see what MW and FMcP can do with the money. And calm down!

3.) 18 Jul 2017 10:56:35
well said Lincoln red, some people!

4.) 18 Jul 2017 11:06:44
Before coming on here with your doom and gloom, at least take the time to understand what you're actually saying. We had no chance of keeping Britt and 15m is good money for the club to be sustainable. Get real!

5.) 18 Jul 2017 11:08:42
Good business. Money important to britt and us. We have a reasonable srikforce as it is. His knee aside was britt a force away from home? Did he always give 100% like cohen? If velios is still with us then he is a good player who can link and is better in the air. So what if most of the money is used to prop up the club. We still have a club to support and marakinakis has put the club in safe hands and whatever people might say the future is a lot brighter!

6.) 18 Jul 2017 11:12:03
Signed a league one striker, he scored a few goals, never played a full season, got a really bad injury that will keep giving him problems, sold for nearly 3 times what we paid for him. He wanted out, £60,000 a week wages, signing on fee of around half a million. I think in some ways it's good busines. Forest are not one of the big clubs who can compete financially with other Championship clubs, selling players is the way that this club needs to operate at the moment. Let's see what happens in regards to signings, I am sure some of the money will be reinvested.

7.) 18 Jul 2017 11:20:52
As a few other posters have said.
If a player wants to leave, especially after the club stuck by him, after he only played about 50% of games in the last 3yrs, how can you possibly have a go at the club? nobody wants a sulky player in the dressing room.
15m under the circumstances is not a bad price. 7m under the last owner for Antonio certainly was!
Structure and scouting is a million miles better, and don't forget Brit was a gamble from a div2 side at 5.5m.
So let's not have a go at the Bread Mans signings, before we have even kicked a ball in anger.
I see a lot of promise in Cummins, McCay and Clough and see no reason why our other signings won't make us a stronger and closer nit unit.
Think positive, it really is a new start!

8.) 18 Jul 2017 11:27:43
Longeaton- that's a bit different to your post last night, 😀😀.

9.) 18 Jul 2017 11:49:52
People need to get past this gut reaction and disappointment it was clear a couple of months ago that Britt would be off. I did post about it when we signed Cummings. If you look at this deal in a logical way it's actually a very good piece of business. We have £15m of which around £2m will go to Peterborough, a further 7-8m will be invested into the club so valuable pieces of infrastructure and running costs can be paid for. That leaves £5m for transfers, and to me that's a decent amount to get good CB, Keeper and CM.

I think the 4 strikers we have will be enough to get us at least into a comfortable mid-table spot, which again is good progress for a team that was almost relegated last season. I'm very excited for the start of next season, I for one think Cummings and Brereton will be our star strikers, the forgotten man in Vellios will be a great asset to us when we're struggling to make the ball stick, and Clough offers so much versatility that I can see him being involved in every single game next season. That's without mentioning Osbourne, Vaughan, Cohen and Carayol who towards the end of the season showed very positive signs.

10.) 18 Jul 2017 11:54:04
If you look back at the letter that the new Chairman sent to supports he did state that the club would have to make some very difficult decisions, this is a difficult decision that was taken out of the clubs hands by a greedy agent spotting a pay day. I cannot believe that any of our other players will now leave and we need to trim the deadwood and sign a small number of quality players. We should now be in a position to do this. We don't want wholesale changes to the squad as players take time to settle in to new surroundings and teams that get promotion have settled squads not a raft of new players.

The players that we have can hit the ground running and play the style that MW wants. That should be enough to get us over mid table which, to me, is all we can hope for this season.

11.) 18 Jul 2017 12:00:30
Don't forget how many Januarys Britt may miss in the future because of ACON. He's desperate to play for DR Congo, like his Father, but can his knees take four or five games in a fortnight in the middle of a season? Just a thought.

12.) 18 Jul 2017 14:00:26
In regards to my post last night, I still feel that imo the club does lack ambition, but I do understand why players are sold, it is clear that we need to operate on a budget. Britt needed and wanted to go and like I have said it was a great bit of business.

13.) 18 Jul 2017 14:31:23
Chill out, Chicken Licken. The sky's not falling in.

14.) 18 Jul 2017 16:59:38
Assombalonggone and his contemporaries are money motivated and that's all there is to it. Bloody hell got to change my name again now. Wonder how long till Boro fans get fed up with billy bongo being constantly offside and dossing about doing note?

15.) 18 Jul 2017 18:56:42
I see FIFA are listening to what I say (again) and are thinking of moving the ACON to Summer. Ignore my previous post. Oh, you did. :)

16.) 18 Jul 2017 22:16:13
Hog - i was just going to congratulate you on your first post- following your second i won't bother.

17.) 18 Jul 2017 23:23:52
How can we say the owners at forest are in ambitious? The own olympiacos and have won how much silverware? Britt wanted to leave and as much as I hope his legs fall off on the first match of the season there was nothing forest could do about it. We keep hearing about the team being more or less the same as last season but is that such a bad thing?

I honestly don't think the players can take much blame for last season. Montanier was a huge disaster and when players are having to change formation during a match behind the managers back you know there's a massive problem. Any other manager would have been sacked months before montanier was.

Yes Britt will be missed but how many games did he play for us? And even with Britt where did we finish every season he was with us? He's no footballing saviour at all. And I think this season is going to be out best for quite along time. So come in you reds!

Surely Aitor has to be sacked now! He's been awful.

woanisgod

1.) 31 Oct 2018 09:30:25
Sitting in 7th place with a newly built squad and people calling for the manager to be sacked ????????

2.) 31 Oct 2018 09:44:46
Dont agree the players were awful if they don't want to put an effort in then get rid like any job its the same 😤

22 Oct 2018 21:31:19
Why is everyone so loyal to Karanka? His record since he took over last season has been awful. I haven’t seen any impunder him.

woanisgod

1.) 22 Oct 2018 21:53:08
Nobody being loyal to him were being loyal to forest managers players come and go were a lot better off now than under fawaz so let's keep it that way

2.) 22 Oct 2018 23:45:27
Same reason Clougie was loyal to your hero Woan. He is a class act who has improved our club and got rid of most of the deadwood!

3.) 23 Oct 2018 07:23:45
Got rid of the deadwood??? Some good players simply loaned out because they had a bit of flair and were not yes men to krankie. Our wage bill must be huge and is anyone other than lolley any better than what AK has brought in for tens of millions???? We have skme proper deadwood in the team now. And skeggs where we are better than under fawaz is all behind the scenes. We don't pay to watch good admin we pay to see the product on a saturday and frankly its worse. But you are right managers and players come and go Forest we are through and through.

4.) 23 Oct 2018 10:38:28
Redinexile woan cost 100 grand from Runcorn I think don’t think he needed quite as much patience or time to ‘gell’ as these Portuguese lads are taking, a left foot any of the 3 of them could only dream of ,100 grand or 13.2mll I know who I would sooner have, the difference between a master manager and a plodder

10 Apr 2018 23:47:30
How many games without a goal since Aitor "rhymes with" took over? If he makes it until the end of the season I hope after 10 games next season he's gone if things don't improve! Seems a nice guy so feel bad for saying it but can't believe he actually got a team into the premier league.

woanisgod

1.) 10 Apr 2018 23:56:30
its not his fault the players can't put the ball in the back of the net. Its not like we haven't had chances.

2.) 11 Apr 2018 06:46:29
yet again brereton misses good chances by inexperience.

3.) 11 Apr 2018 12:31:18
No confidence. don’t see experienced lads like Watson, Geddy, Tomlin, Vellios or Murphy scoring either so might as well give young B.B. games! We have some great young players who at times have played good football but young players need encouragment and to keep confident, our fans get on their backs too much and our experienced players are too poor and inconsistent. Karanka got experience in on January and it did give a lift but now is showing that they aren’t all that as like it has before under other managers confidence is failing fast I think.

21 Feb 2018 00:23:39
Karanka has to go now surely! Hasn't got a clue.

woanisgod

1.) 21 Feb 2018 11:20:54
What a ridiculous comment.

2.) 21 Feb 2018 12:11:10
Woan was never the brightest button in the box so I think that just sums up your comment?

10 Feb 2018 17:08:32
So how long does AK get? I was 100% happy with his appointment but even after 6 games am starting to think we've made a huge mistake! I know it's early but managers these days need to make an early impression and at the very least show some sort of improvement. He's picking the same awful back 4 every game and we haven't scored in how many games?! If we lose our next couple of games in the same manner I can see him being under pressure!

woanisgod

1.) 10 Feb 2018 17:24:33
My concern is what is going on in training? No team play, no defensive solidity, no identity. I was hoping for football basics, DF with a bit more attacking flair? Not sure what we've got at the moment, seems a mess. I haven't given up yet but we need to see some green shoots of progress at least.

2.) 10 Feb 2018 17:25:46
I think Dowell looked good in a poor defence and now he has been found out AK should rest him or return to sender,Mancienne couldn't captain a pedalo at Skeggy, i think Karanka will come good he just needs to integrate Watson etc into the side, let's not panic YET 😁😁😁🙁🙁🙁⚓

3.) 10 Feb 2018 18:43:15
Dowell was the worst player on the pitch today. Osbourne got man of the match which was hilarious. Cash actually one of the better players today, when he wasn’t horizontal. This team is crap.

He’s got to go soon surely! I was 100% happy when he took over but he’s been awful. Picks the same awful team and shown his arrogance now by blaming the fans! Just a suggestion but maybe try playing nice attacking football and then the fans may cheer
