Just found the latest on Pozo - "Nottingham Forest have made a loan enquiry for Manchester City striker Jose Angel Pozo - dubbed 'The mini Messi'.
Forest boss Stuart Pearce is hoping his former ties being in the Etihad hot-seat will now help him steal a march on a host of interested clubs.
Pozo, 18, is considered one of the brightest stars in City's Academy and was plucked from Real Madrid two years ago for £2.4m.
The starlet scored on his first-team debut against Sheffield Wednesday in the Capital One Cup this season and has also impressed in the youth version of the Champions League.
Pozo was ruled out last term with a bad ankle injury but has got himself back to full fitness and City are now considering testing the Spaniard at a higher level".

1.) The way we are playing at the moment you sold him to me at "Pozo, 18"

2.) Why do we always struggle to get decent loan players?, young Bamford at Boro is a Forest academy player yet didn't want to come?, if we don't sort ourselves out we'll be playing county next year!

According to one news site Ince HAS signed on loan

pedroalicante

1.) Hope he does well, just seems he has a bit of an ego?

2.) 28 Oct 2014 19:44:21
quality signing if its true. pacy and makes thing happen.not so long ago he was in talks with Inter Milan.

3.) I've heard about this ego. Pearce always said he wants the right characters in the dressing room, hopefully it won't upset anyone. But he was worked with him before at u21, so we shall have to see.

Now confirmed on a news site that Darlow & Lascelles CANNOT be recalled. It says "NEWCASTLE United have now also confirmed that Jamaal Lascelles and Karl Darlow will be Nottingham Forest players for the rest of the season.

Stuart Pearce has repeatedly stated that the Premier League club have no recall clause for either player, following their return to the City Ground on loan.

That had not halted endless speculation that the duo, who were sold to United for a combined fee of around £6.5m, could be recalled to the north-east.

But now Newcastle themselves have confirmed what Pearce has been saying all along - that Forest have a cast iron agreement to keep the players for the entire season".

Could be Rob Lee. ex NUFC & Charlton. The plate was being bandied around for sale on a Newcastle website in 2011 for an asking price of 15,000!!! Depends if you trust a Geordie site.

Wise words 'since 1951' and you only have to look at Middlesboro losing to Crewe on penalties and Huddersfield losing to Lincoln in open play. A win is a win, is a win, is a win.

Bsered, you only have to look at Middlesboro v Crewe at half time 0-2 to know that matches against these lesser teams are potential banana skins. Suggest you take some positive pills and become a proper supporter instead of being negative all the time.

pedroalicante

1.) 13 Aug 2019 21:30:43
Have you read my posts over the last 5 years? I'm not negative especially about our players. We ought to beat teams like Fleetwood easily, that's not being negative, just emphasising how we need to improve.

2.) 13 Aug 2019 21:58:20
Bsered, you’re not a negative poster . 👍.

3.) 13 Aug 2019 22:08:01
Take a win even though 1 nil more positives than negatives nice to see the new players thought they did well considering first time they've played together, think tiago will continue to show what he's got in his locker good goal coyr.

4.) 13 Aug 2019 22:20:06
To be fair, Fleetwood have won there first two games away to Peterborough and AFC Wimbledon in league one, so they should be given a bit more credit. So it’s a good result.

5.) 13 Aug 2019 22:28:53
Doesn’t matter if people are generally negative or positive —you can quickly make a judgment and see things that do not make any sense and to say we should easily beat teams like fleetwood to me shows a very simplistic view of football which stops at school boy level. Fit, well drilled teams with players lacking skills or football ability will always pose a danger to anyone who thinks they are superior.

Good post 2tone.

Just seen this on a major sports site. Great if it happens

Nottingham Forest have agreed a club record fee in the region of £13m for Benfica midfielder Joao Carvalho,
The deal, subject to a medical, smashes Forest's transfer record of £6.2m for Britt Assombalonga.
Carvalho's team-mate Diogo Goncalves is also expected to join Forest on a season-long loan.
Both players are represented by Jorge Mendes, who has worked closely in recent months with Wolves.
Both deals are expected to be completed by this weekend.

Just love the snippet from one of the Scottish papers "Pedro Caixinha has been accused of costing Rangers a fortune by selling Barrie McKay to Nottingham Forest on the cheap". As if we didn't know haaa. Shows what an astute manager MW is.

pedroalicante

1.) 09 Nov 2017 14:18:32
More like how astute McParland is.

2.) 09 Nov 2017 16:40:37
Baered

And who was that insisted McParland be appointed?

3.) 09 Nov 2017 18:10:16
Makes a change from our usual under valuing of players we sell?

4.) 09 Nov 2017 20:00:05
Red , too true.

5.) 09 Nov 2017 20:46:48
So he was in charge of transfer deals?no manager sorts prices out for players going or leaving.

Just read that we have have been awarded the Sky Bet Transfer Fund prize of £250,000.

The piece read-
"The Championship club was chosen at random from nine Football League clubs including Fulham, Cardiff, Leeds, Watford, Wigan, Huddersfield, Exeter and Southend.

Forest are currently under a transfer embargo due to a breach of the Championship's Financial Fair Play rules, but can still use the money towards player recruitment.

Football League chief executive Shaun Harvey told Sky Sports: "It's been great that our title sponsors Sky Bet and all 72 Football League clubs have come together, and it has seen a response from over 70,000 fans.

"Nottingham Forest will be very worthy winners and can use the money for loan fees or loan-players' wages, but not for transfer fees. "

Former Scotland striker John O'Hare, a two-time European Cup winner with Forest, represented the Midlands club and picked up the award.

"Unfortunately there's only one winner and we're delighted to come out of the hat, " he said. "The club will be happy. I'm sure they'll find a way of using the money on young players' salaries, loans and things like that.

"It will help certainly in what is a very tough and competitive division. You need all the help you can get. "

pedroalicante

1.) We need to move players out in January. Abdoun, obviously, but also Collins and Halford plus maybe Harding. We look likely to lose Hunt and Ince. So despite the embargo there should be two or three new faces. And Hobbs and Reid should be fit again. Could give us boost for second half of the season.

2.) I would also bring back Mackie. Plenty of effort and enthusiasm and a nuisance for defenders.

3.) I think we need to sign hunt permanently in the next couple of weeks. Pay the money. We are so short or quality cover in those positions at the moment and as much as I rate lichaj we have been at our best with hunt bombing forward down the right with burke in front of him

4.) I can see where your coming from Keeno but a fullbacks main priority is to defend. Hunt offensively is very good but defensively a little naive, due in no small part to his eagerness to get forward. This goes someway to explaining his omission from the starting line up of late. Lichaj is the only defensively solid fullback we have hence he is the first one on the teamshhet whether at right back or left back.

My understanding is that the claim against Fawaz is by the CLUB and the counter claim is against the CLUB. Nothing to do with the new owners.

Yep to Belgian club Sporting Lokeren. Shame we couldn't cash in on him and I hope we aren't paying any part of his wages. Biggest waste of space since the Italian mob

Cambridge red Great post - one of the best for common sense and accuracy I have read to date. There were so many positives to take from last nights game - the youngsters and all the other things you posted. The result, to me, was unimportant as we do not need 'extra matches' at this time of the season particualarly with some of our 'fragile' stars. SP has got EVERYTHING it spot on. COYR
